See I guess I would take the opposite approach (at least I think I would!). Instead of sneaking out of your house in the middle of the night, give them your schedule. They're not "stalking" you and if you're not doing anything the world shouldn't know about, it's ok IMHO. Don't get me wrong I'd probably get sick of it pretty quickly but I also think I'd have my "fun" with the pictures/paps too - treat them to lunch, constantly go out all over town (tire them out!), smile, pick my nose, whatever just to mess with them! I'm not saying I'd go out and act like Jon (because I don't do that in my "real" life and don't see myself acting like that in general) so I guess I wouldn't have too much to worry about there.....

so if your friends called and wanted to meet for lunch at Panera, you'd stop and give the paps a head's up? and what about the rest of the people connected to your life, do you give them their schedules, too?

I understand there is a certain level of expectation when you have reached celebrity status, you're going to be photographed, in the tabloid media, etc. and your public life definitely is no longer your own. but, there has to be a happy medium between the public and private life, though. at least there would for me.

and from what I understand about the paps, I'm not so sure I'd be running around all over town having that much fun with them, especially as nasty as I've read they can be. thankfully, I'll never have to worry about the what ifs ... the National Enquirer won't be following me around anytime soon.

I just watched the first part of the Regis interview. I know I'm in the minority here, but I love Regis!! He finally asked the one question I've been waiting for someone to ask Kate!

Don't you think this would all go away if you would just stop the show and take the cameras off of your kids?

YES!! GO REEGE!!

And then of course Kate pressed play, "We can't go back, we can only go forward..."

this isn't really a fluffy, light, promote the show interview ..

I loved the Regis interview. It did look like Kelly was a little horrified by the questions he was asking but I am glad he asked them.

"We can't go back" OMG if I hear her say that again I am going to scream! NO you crazy women you can't go back but you can go forward. It is just like all the reality starts, they are in the news while their show is on and then a few months later you don't hear anything about them. That is what would happen to these people if they went off tv.

according to the reports, Kelly was very supportive to Kate while she was there.

I'm still very surprised by that interview. and I can't really pinpoint what surprised me the most...

What you don't want is an end to the freebies, vacations, etc.....that your so use to and enjoy. I must admit, Regis asked the "tough" questions. It was so obvious he has no clue about the Gosselin's. I would love to see the look on his face when someone tells him Jon is dating the daughter of the plastic surgeon who did Kate's tummytuck--oh wait, she didn't have any plastic surgery!!

I don't think they would stop. I think when one of them remarries they will stop. The Paparazzi are interested in Jon & Kate. I don't think they are following the kids around.

I have not seen Live yet...I'm at work. But I read he asked if Jon & her would get back together.... I wonder if they might. Her answer did not close that door. I do not blame her for not saying anything.

I disagree. If they ended the show the paparazzi and critics would move on to someone else. They chose to put their lives in the spotlight (not the kids choosing) and this is what happens.

I completely and totally disagree. I think they would fade into the woodwork and in a few years people would forget their names. They are doing a find job of keeping themselves in the public eye for their show. There's no such thing as bad publicity. If they sincerely wanted all of the attention to go away (both Jon and Kate) they could make it go away easily. If they stopped the show, stopped doing nonsense pointless interviews on morning television, and went about their lives with a lot more discretion (again, both of them) it would stop.

Personally, I think both J&K love the attention all this brings and therefore it will not stop. Jon says one thing and does another (ie. says he wants out of the spotlight, yet does things to call attention to himself and put himself IN the spotlight) and Kate seems to like it also.
I think it is all about the money and the lifestyle it provides. Maybe they really don't believe at this point that all this is hurting their kids or will in the future. My bet is, it will. Heck, I think most of us had parents who thought they were doing the best thing at the time but it hurt us in some way or another. I worry about that with my own child too. As they say, no one's perfect but I think if J&K stepped back a looked at the big picture, they should be able to see that this can't be good for these 8 kids.

Right now, my opinion is they are being greedy--"For the love of money is the root of all evil." I think their loving the money and what that affords them. And I gotta say, I might be abnormal but I am not one who wants "more" for my child. I had plenty and life was good. The place where I want more for her is in her education. Lessons, vacations, etc. aren't high on my list.

I have a soft-spot for Kate and I know it shows here. But I also can say I think she should stop the show and give it up. This whole situation, the marriage, the divorce, the whole relationship seems like it about to explode before our very eyes. And that is not fair for those children.

Not all of us think she is exploiting her children. Being on the show, the freebies, vacations, etc are part of it, so I do agree, she wouldn't want them to end. Why be on a show like this if you didn't get all of those freebies? What would be the point? I do think it will play itself out sooner than later anyway. It was on the way down before all this stuff with Jon started. Of course no matter if we are for or against the show, by posting about it and keeping the interest alive, it will continue. For that, I thank you guys who hate the show and think it should end and keep posting about it. It shows TLC there is big interest in this family. You are keeping it going, so I get to watch it.

Just for the record, Kate has never once denied she had the tummy tuck surgery. While I agree her 'girls' look great, I would find it very hard to believe she could have had them done and us or the paps miss it. Someone would have leaked it. It's not like you go in, they pop in the silicone and you are right back up on your feet. Besides, we all heard her ask the doc to do them (when he said no, a good bra will do wonders), so why would she then hide it? She doesn't seem to have anything against getting them done. And say she did..would any of us care? I know I wouldn't.

I thought the deal was (according to something published the other day?) Jon couldn't be with the kids if it was Kate's turn. Kate is at home and Jon is taking Leah to the doctor. It would be helpful if they provided us a list to make it easier to understand their arrangement.

They're back together!! Regis predicted it!!!!

I dunno but I'm glad she is home with them and I am happy to see Jon come take Leah to the doctor. That just makes me happy for the kids.

So anyone on a reality show is entitled to freebies, vacations, etc.....?? The point is she wouldn't have a show if it wasn't for kids!!!

I didn't catch the Regis & Kelly show this morning. Geez, sounds like it was a real hoot though! Why would you ask a woman who's husband has cheated on her and now has a GF if you think you'll get back together? Classy Regis, really sensitive.

Anyhow, I had a thought concerning the paps and all the media attention. J&K+8 has been on for over 2 years now, right? Why all the sudden press and tabloids? Because scandal sells. It was found out that Jon was hanging with college chicks and the story just blossomed from there. So they were doing the show for over a year and 1/2 before all the paps became a problem. I guess my point (I promise I do have one!) is that just because they were on the show didn't mean the paps and tabloids were all over them. It all came on recently and was due to Jon and his indiscretions. So stopping the show wouldn't necessarily end the paps obsession. What would end it IMO is if J&K keep their mouths shut and stop doing interviews for magazines and TV shows. People would lose interest because then they'd be just another divorced couple with nothing exciting to report. I could be wrong, certainly wouldn't be the 1st time!
