Just finished reading the People article. Well, Jon is an idiot, I think we ALL can agree on that! But let's not forget that Kate is a clever, determined woman. She has said numerous times that she loves what she's doing, wants to have her own talk show, loves being in the studio. Not only that, she makes no apologies for who she is and how she acts. She knew that this story was important for her to get out there, she's no fool. As a matter of fact I think she's the most shrewd person I've ever come across. Anyhoo, back to the article...
If all the things she claims are true, then it is sad. She is painting a very disparaging picture of Jon, how he didn't want to do the show so she told him to get a job, volunteer, go back to school, etc. It's all very interesting. She wants people to believe that she is the one sacrificing and working hard for her kids. I don't know how I feel about that yet. Apparently she is the ONLY one working for kids by criss-crossing the country to promote her book. It still is a hard pill to swallow thought that she NEEDS to be doing the show, promotions, speaking engagements because of the kids and their future. Unless she and Jon are completely brainless, they should have lots of money stashed away. That argument is getting old in my opinion. Their college fund was started by the Lt. Governor of PA so all Kate really needs to do is have enough $ for them to eat and pay for the house, if TLC hasn't paid for it at least to some extent (they had to construct an interview set in the new house). Again, there are so many large families and they are making it work. I think Kate's problem is that she wants a certain lifestyle (big surprise) for herself and her family that necessitates a larger income than other families. Therefore in her mind, she NEEDS to do all this. Also, if she was SO worried about money and was worried about Jon not wanting to do the show, then why on earth buy such a large house?? The timing of Jon voicing his unhappiness about the show with the new house all fits. I just think that was a foolish move on both their parts. Jon is complaining about how unhappy he is, Kate loves what they're doing so let's add more stress by buying an enormous house! That won't add any pressure or make Kate feel she needs to work more.
Wow, it really does sound like some trashy novel, doesn't it? Well, I can only imagine what the 1st episode will be like then.
Oh, and as far as the affair with her bodyguard, I don't think she did. She isn't THAT stupid and knows if it got out, she'd be done. In the article she addresses this and says she's worked too hard to take herself down in that way. I actually believe that part. Of course I could be wrong...
Bottom line, they both are responsible for their actions. Honestly right now, they are acting like children...he said, she said, blah blah blah. Both of them need to stop running to the tabloids and go home together and hash this thing out. Believe it or not, they owe that to their marriage, each other and their kids.
I agree with you with the "if all she says is true" But how do we know? We are not flies on their walls, we want to be but we aren't! This is a phrase I said over and over when the couple that introduced me and DH were getting a divorce Ah hem! Ready! There is his side, her side and the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
As far as Jon isn't happy just doing the show. I was under the impression that once Jon started working for Bob and coming home shortly before Mady and Cara got home from school Kate saw how easy her life would be if he were home all the time dealing with the kids when she didn't want to so badgered him in to quitting. I could be wrong but it just seemed that way. Lets face it. It's Kate's way or the highway and well I personally don't think a marriage can last in that situation. (And I believe that's why my sister never got married
