I was speculating, just as the poster who suggested that it might be a PR stunt, that maybe they did it to boost ratings. You, yourself, said you would be surprised if they didnt have better ratings after last week. PR Stunt=leading up the finale episode.

I didn't realize you were speculating. When you said this (the bolded part), it sounded like you had already seen Monday's ratings.
Ive considered that. Ive thought that maybe the entire "photo with college girls" was taken and publicized on purpose. J&K aren't new to reality TV- they know what sells. Their ratings obviously went up and now people are talking. Sometimes any publicity is good publicity! Kate is already known as the villian (unfortunately)-- She may feel she might as well be one if she has that name surrounding her already.:confused3

Just put the www. before the accesshollywood. Let me know if it works.

It worked for me, thank you.

Also the other link with Jon and Kate coming out of the resturant.
Wow, she sure got thin.
She has pretty hair, except for that rooster fluff, spikes, whatever`` she has at the back of her head.
In 10 years, she is going to wonder "what was I thinking"

It worked for me, thank you.

was it the clip of the story or something else? The story is just about Jon & Kate's couch body language .. it doesn't really say much more than stuff we've been saying here for months. They should have asked us first! :rotfl:

Access doing the body language,
I was just glad I could see the link, the first time it wouldn't open.
It cracks me up, how people read body language.
"She's twirling her wedding ring,
"She's scratching her neck, it means she is flirting, but not this time, it means, the situation is a pain in the neck," LOL!

Yes, the link worked and I agree with everything he said.

Well see if you can have a little heart to heart with Kate and knock some sense into her. At least tell her to be more respectful of her husband.

I don't know if this has been talked about but what is up with her hair??? I think it's really cute from the front but why the spikey back? Looks like her kids went after her with scissors while she was napping.

I was going to check out the link myself, if it was more than what they showed on TV, but it doesn't sound like it is.

that guy was taking his body language seriously, wasn't he? LOL

Yeah but it doesn't have to be.....I think the Roloffs are pretty normal but they aren't boring. Just because they have 3 sets of multiples doesn't meant they are entertaining.

I have some very normal friends who have very entertaining lives....

Good point. I agree.

I agree with everyone on the hair. It is a reverse mullet for sure! I just don't understand why she keeps that one side so long. :confused3

I thought her hair looked nice around the time of the Disney episode. I think she looks good with bangs and the color was really nice as well.

Some of you turn everything into something. I bet when you were younger you never used the bathroom outside, yadda yadda. Sure, Jon helped him. The things you do for your kids. Doesn't make him a bad parents... nor Kate (Jon can help out too ya know). It's reality TV. They are kids.... thats the reality of it. If you want to be butterflies and dandilions, Sesame Street might be more appropriate IMO. Im sure Jon wiped their butts on a regular basis... doesnt sound so sanitary to me--but its to be done.

Am I the only one as a child who actually lived? LOL. You guys are reminding me of that Bucky Covington song abouthow the times have changed (and im not even that old). Did you guys not play outside? Did you not use the bathroom in an odd place? Did your parents never leave the home for more than 15 minutes? You never stayed with family or had someone babysit you? Your parents never exaggerated anything? Your mom never had an argument with your dad? This is TV-- you see what TLC ultimately wants you to see- its all about ratings. Regardless of who produces the show (and says what they want to happen in each episode)--TLC does the editing. They don't care what anyone ends up "looking like" or "Acting like" on TV-- they care about ratings!

No, I have not actually lived if you mean having impacted feces removed in front of my siblings and a TV camera, in a public parking lot, in the back of a vehicle, with a plastic grocery bag around my dad's finger and then having my parents joke about it and imitate me on television during an interview. I've always felt like something was missing, but I thought it was that homecoming thing.

"Popping" a squat, or copping a squat is usually thought of in my circle as peeing in the weeds. This is not comparable to what was shown and implied during the furniture store episode. Kate would not let her kids cop a squat; they all peed on potty chairs on the beach, and then dumped them in the dune grass when they were four years old instead of peeing in the grass directly. :confused3

Thanks for clearing up what it is really like to have kids.

I am finished talking about potty chairs, poop and plastic bags. Proceed if you choose.

They also were searching for their new house. When they went to look at some of them,Kate said "we can not afford a big house just for the utilities alone."

I think in that instance she was talking about the land they looked at and the fact it would cost a whole lot to have the utilities connected. Apparently it was pretty far off the grid for everything and it is really expensive to have them put in because they have to pay from where they are connected to the grid to where the house would be.

Yikes:scared1:, im glad my parents weren't being video taped on our long road trips when we couldn't find a rest stop and i had to pull over on the interstate and pop a squat. I guess that'd be child nudity in public and unsanitary situation.

Gah! They were at a store that I'm sure had a washroom....wth??!!

:confused3 nit pick much?

I didn't say i can relate to but things aren't always picture perfect IN REAL LIFE (as most people have experienced on their own). I can imagine that everyone else on this thread can only aspire to be half as perfect as your children... no issues at all. As far as the TV part-- thats not my problem. It comes down to editing- which 9 out of 10 times the participants have no control over. So what are you upset with... the fact that it happened, or that it was on TV? If its that it made it on TV-- I suggest you contact the discovery network. As for J&K-- we are not aware whether they had any knowledge this would be aired or not.

Why on earth do you have to be so rude? Why bring up the other poster's children and be sarcastic about it?

Here are pix of the Mr. Chow dinner the other night. Jon looks like he has gained back the weight from his workout with Fuzzy Bunny.

http://www.buzzfoto.com/2009/03/the-buzz-report/jon-and-kate-are-great-together/

Ok they both look not the happiest walking out the door. The second picture, little tiny smiles - clearly forced. Jon looks good with that purse though! :rotfl:

I don't give any credit to hear-say... i know the results when you play "telephone". I really wouldn't say that she yelled at the church volunteers or that she told people not to even think about about talking to her unless you heard it with your own ears. Slander is a terrible thing.

I agree slander is terrible. Unfortunately not everyone uses the DIS boards so occassionaly we need to relay the information that we've seen or heard. I don't think anyone here would lie just to sway someone to one side or the other. I agree that posting something that a friend of a friend of an uncle's cousin's brothers neighbor heard could loose some credability - especially from someone either new to the thread or DISboards in general. Considering the source, I'd have to say I believe what was written. She's been around here forever and is very good at reporting the facts. I guess I'm just a bit overly trusting though in that way.

Pulling over on the side of the road is one thing...what happened in the parking lot is another. Personally I think J&K as PARENTS should have said that's off limits and will not be shown. They need to have some rules about what they can't show. Maybe a trip to the doctor should have been on the books before picking out furnature :confused3

You're at it again! :thumbsup2

We are installing a central vac in their house, so if you ever see them sweeping up stuff you know they aren't using a Dyson :-)

That's really cool. Be sure to come and back post the date y'all are gonna be on and what it was "really" like there! popcorn::

And that may not be J&K's fault. They don't edit the show.... notice the camera men were from a distance (from INSIDE the store).... I doubt they were like "YES! Show collin on TV having bathroom issues!"- but thats reality!

But they are the PARENTS. I would not - regardless of the amount of money - let someone record that let alone play it on national tv. Of course I wouldn't have been so worried about picking out furnature if my child was in that much pain either but that's another discussion all together.

Im not sure if we will get any tv time. I only know we are working out the scheduling of doing the job in the next few weeks.

http://www.vacuflo.com/ is us :goodvibes

WOOHOO! Good luck. Like I said, let us know if you'll be on. A family that I nannied for had one and I loved it! If we go through with building our house this year, I want one so badly!

So true!

As far as the TV part-- thats not my problem. It comes down to editing- which 9 out of 10 times the participants have no control over. As for J&K-- we are not aware whether they had any knowledge this would be aired or not.

This is where I have issue. Going into this, if J&K didn't know right from the start, they darn well knew once a couple of episodes aired, what would be filmed and an idea of what they were showing on tv. That's when rules should have been put into place about what would be shown/filmed. It's one thing to capture memories for the families - another to show the world (don't know why I'd want that as a memory either but...). They had knowledge that it *might* be aired - the camera crew was there and someone had to notice the camera wasn't on Kate but on the van in the parking lot. J&K, in my opinion, have a right as a parent to stand up for their kid and say "NO that's not going to be on the show". It didn't affect the show in any way - they could have simply said on the interview couch/chair that Jon helped with his bm or whatever. Again, if it were my kid, I'd be putting off the furnature picking and hit the doctor first personally.

I think we need to apply with TLC to be someone that reads all these blogs and keeps J&K in the loop about what people are thinking/saying (if they even have people like that) - might as well be getting paid for something we're already doing! :)

I hope this show doesn't come back for any more seasons! Leave these children alone, the parents are obviously not thinking when it comes to the aftermath of what the show has done and will do to their kids. TLC needs to use some "TLC" and think of the kids well-being. Nobody is looking out for the kids, TLC and Jon & Kate are only thinking $$$. If they REALLY cared, they would pull the show off the air. Just my 2 cents!

You're at it again! :thumbsup2

yes and no.

I really enjoy this thread, and like participating in the discussion.

But every now and then I find myself saying something I wish I hadn't. Today was one of those days. LOL.

You've been here a long time.
You probably racked up more posts in the last 3 months, then in the last 10 years, lol.

I hope the thread can remain civil and not get shut down.
It's getting to 250 pages.
Maybe we all should take a break until next season,
but I don't see that happening, if Jon and Kate keep turning up in the tabloid news.
