Oh, forgot to mention. I just watched Table for 12 last night. Holy cow is that show boring! The tups are roughly the same age as the Gosselins, but they weren't nearly as cute/funny/interesting. Now part of that may be that they haven't been in front of cameras most of their lives, but still.....
How in the world do they afford that house with 12 kids? It looked pretty big and nice to me (nicely remodeled kitchen). Does she work? He is a cop and NJ is a very expensive state to live in. I just found that to be a little odd. What is the story there?
I found the parents to be funny when they were together, but alone they were so dull. They seem like a nice enough family though. I will watch a few more weeks to give it a chance, but love or hate them, the Gosselins are entertaining.
Yikes, im glad my parents weren't being video taped on our long road trips when we couldn't find a rest stop and i had to pull over on the interstate and pop a squat. I guess that'd be child nudity in public and unsanitary situation.
Says the link is broken??
all this is stuff I've heard after the fact. From friends that went to the later service, book signing, or volunteered at the event. I didn't go to lunch at the same restaurant, LOL .. but I know a couple of people that did. both fans of Kate.... well, one is now a former fan, the other still watches the show because the kids are adorable.
and to be fair, I talked to someone else who saw Kate at Target after lunch/before the book signing, and Kate did agree to a picture and made a little small talk. This person was unable to get tickets to the church thing and was thrilled to meet Kate. She said Kate was fine.
Kate couldn't get out of the church lot fast enough and became very frustrated no one would tell her how to get out of there.
The stuff I've heard around town since Kate's appearance has been consistent with my experience. A few people (like one or two) thought she was great, but mostly people use words like flat, uninspiring, disappointing, etc. The first thing most people mention is they can't believe she didn't even say thank you.
What happened here is not unlike many other accounts from different cities posted. I don't believe her behavior was an isolated thing.
And really, that's all I have to say about that. LOL.
Saw this last night.
Here is a video of J&K on Access Hollywood.

we must get Access Hollywood a day behind here, yesterday's show is on right now.
Yikes, im glad my parents weren't being video taped on our long road trips when we couldn't find a rest stop and i had to pull over on the interstate and pop a squat.
are Monday's ratings posted somewhere? all I can find are the nightly ratings for the networks. nothing on the cable shows.
I want to say I read the JK8 ratings were at their highest around the time of the wedding episode.
I'm not sure you get it. He didn't use the dicarded grocery bag from the van to dispose of the bm... he used it as a rubber glove.
Yeah, that would be horrible. Imagine it being replayed many times for an international audience to see. Can you imagine people coming up to you on the street to talk about it...
Yes, he was using the bag as a glove to get the obstruction out. Yuck!
We are installing a central vac in their house, so if you ever see them sweeping up stuff you know they aren't using a Dyson![]()
Yes, I agree with you! Kids' emergency bathroom situations shouldn't be shown on tv!

Whose house, Jon and Kate?
I was speculating, just as the poster who suggested that it might be a PR stunt, that maybe they did it to boost ratings. You, yourself, said you would be surprised if they didnt have better ratings after last week. PR Stunt=leading up the finale episode.
I get it.

Some of you turn everything into something. I bet when you were younger you never used the bathroom outside, yadda yadda. Sure, Jon helped him. The things you do for your kids. Doesn't make him a bad parents... nor Kate (Jon can help out too ya know). It's reality TV. They are kids.... thats the reality of it. If you want to be butterflies and dandilions, Sesame Street might be more appropriate IMO. Im sure Jon wiped their butts on a regular basis... doesnt sound so sanitary to me--but its to be done.
Am I the only one as a child who actually lived? LOL. You guys are reminding me of that Bucky Covington song abouthow the times have changed (and im not even that old). Did you guys not play outside? Did you not use the bathroom in an odd place? Did your parents never leave the home for more than 15 minutes? You never stayed with family or had someone babysit you? Your parents never exaggerated anything? Your mom never had an argument with your dad? This is TV-- you see what TLC ultimately wants you to see- its all about ratings. Regardless of who produces the show (and says what they want to happen in each episode)--TLC does the editing. They don't care what anyone ends up "looking like" or "Acting like" on TV-- they care about ratings!
Normal can be boring. I agree.
My SIL has one of those systems and they are awesome!
I think you are missing my point. I did all of these things as a child...the difference is that they weren't shown to an international audience. J&K should be able to tell the film crew to not film the children when going potty or other bodily functions. I don't see (thank goodness!) J or K being filmed doing these things. Would you want your home videos of you doing similar things shown on TLC? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy that the videos of me in the bath as a youngster aren't being shown on TV weekly.
Everyone says that making bad comments will only hurt the kids because they will eventually grow up and read it. What about the fact that their own parents are putting all of these embarrassing moments on TV for the world to see? That's not going to hurt them in any way?
