Joining DVC and upcoming trip questions.

I'm travelling to WDW in mid-September of this year (2 adults). I've already booked at All-Star Movies with Disney deluxe dining plan and 8 days Park Hopper/Water park Fun and More passes.

Since finding wdwinfo.com, I've read a lot about DVC over the past few weeks and I'm really interested in purchasing AKV with Developer Points before my September trip. My questions are these:

1) Does anyone know if I can receive a refund on my hotel stay at All-Star Movies if I purchase DVC now anduse my developer points for my stay for 7 nights?
2) What's the likelihood that I'll get a stay at Saratoga Springs for Sept 13-20 if I book next week?
3) Can I upgrade my tickets to an annual pass at the discounted DVC rate as I plan to return to WDW in January?
4) Will I still be able to keep my dining deluxe dining plan if I end up staying at WDW through DVC?

I know these may be difficult questions to answer. If I have to, I'll just call DVC back. If anyone can help me out, that would be greatly appreciated.

I would call DVC and see if it is even possible to purchae that quickly. They will be the ones to answer your questions.

I can answer 3 and 4 for you: yes, you can keep your dining plan (you'll have to make a new reservation but you can still get any dining plan while a DVC member) and yes, you can upgrade your ticket to an annual pass with your DVC discount (assuming that you are a member by then). Just make sure you upgrade within 14 days of first use and not wait until January to upgrade.

The dining plan with a DVC unit is NOT free like the current special for the WDW resorts. So make sure you and that cost into your budget.

Member services is closed right now but I could check for availability tomorrow morning if you can tell me what size villa you would need.

I did do the free DDP plan; however, I was told we'd get the hotel portion of our purchase back. So, that may help us pay for the dining plan. Assuming it's worth it.
