John Wayne airport...?
I have never thought of flying in to it instead of Lax but what is it like is it a smaller air port? Is it closer to DL?

were coming from Phx. (if we come)

Im just going though everything seeing if theres any thing that saved money any where or saved time.

Don't forget about LGB, just a mile or 2 farther then SNA and can be cheaper. It is a tiny airport.

LGB or SNA are tons better than LAX, SNA is pretty nice, LGB is crazy tiny... both are much closer to DL and much cleaner and more comfortable than LAX. I swear you'd have to pay me to fly into LAX again...

LGB and SNA are less than 20 minutes away. We have always flown in to either of these two because the price is so much better. AND they are so easy to get in and out of. LGB is especially easy as you exit the plane onto the tarmak. Walk through a very tiny terminal and your luggage comes out virtually right beside the sidewalk!
LAX can easily take anhour or so to get to DL

Ive always done SNA, but darn if the flights were cheaper thru LAX so we took that flight. SNA is so nice, we love that airport :) oh and the huge John wayne statue !!

Jade, SNA is the closest and the nicest, but also usually the most expensive. Usually there are a good number of flights at different times. Because it's closer, shuttles or the Disneyland express cost less from SNA. Check around, though, you might get lucky on a good flight price.

LGB is also pretty close, but it's often as cheap or cheaper than LAX. The downside is that not as many flights are scheduled in, because it's so small-- for example, we would have had to fly in either really early or really late. Also, shuttles can cost more from there, and there's no DL express service. If you can get a flight at a time you like, for a good price, it would be worth it to go through LGB.

LAX is your typical huge, crowded, dirty international airport. It's farthest away, but the airfare is usually cheaper there. Ground transportation is more expensive-- shuttles or DL express available.

Hope that helps, and I hope you can go on your trip this year!! :goodvibes

SNA is so nice. We have been to LAX for connections before but I would avoid it at all costs. SNA is very clean and seemed well laid out. From Seattle on Alaska Air there is no price difference so we choose SNA to fly to Disneyland. The rental car counters are in a nice area and it was very easy to get out of the airport and on the highway. The drive from SNA is Disney is really easy and much better than dealing with the LAX craziness.

so sna if I can because its close an has DL express.
any one know what a price for a cab from sna would be?

I think $45 is the current flat fee for taxis, but you're not guaranteed that flat fee on the return trip; depending on traffic it could run you more like $55-60.

But you can get Super Shuttle for something like $15 a person round trip, if you reserve online and use a discount coupon like this one: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/supershuttle.com

So for all 3 of you that would run you $45 for both ways... if I've got the fare right-- half what a cab would cost you both ways.

DL Express would cost you $25 per adult round trip, $17 per child : http://graylineanaheim.com/docs/GL Anaheim DRE Brochure 2008.pdf

SNA all the way!:goodvibes

I will pay more to go to John Wayne/Orange County/SNA any day (and have) over LAX. (Unless we are talkng a LOT more)

I would suggest the Super Shuttle $20 roundtrip SNA to DLR. We have had trouble with the bus arriving on town twice for our return to the airport. No problem with the shuttle. Plus the bus makes many stops at many hotels/motels. The shuttle being smaller makes less stops. Sometimes only the one.

Avalon is right on the $45 taxi rate.
We flew into LGB for the first time on November because of the great fares. From San Antonio we had alot of flight options. We usually take a cab but due to not getting a flat rate back, we chose a car service. They gave us a flat rate both ways, we had a straight shot. He carried our luggage to from luggage claim to the car- a huge help since we had DD AND DMIL. It was $50 each way which is a little more. But we liked having the driver there waiting for us and us not waiting for him

Hello,

I guess I am going to be the "odd one" here but I just flew into/out of LAX this past week and I didn't see anything wrong with it?

It took us about 45 min. to get to Disneyland and the cost of our rental car was cheaper then if we would have flown into SNA?

Anyway, if the flight is cheaper into LAX and your rental car is cheaper I would go for it :confused3

ok so i checked an at least in oct (as far as i can go at the moment) they have the flights Id want at my price (10more then o was thinking each way but that we will come up with) Sna is John Wayne right lol my dh asked me im like i think so..so what better place to ask then you all

SNA is sometimes called John Wayne, Orange County, or Santa Ana depending on the carrier.

We booked Sioux City, IA to John Wayne. It was cheaper than going into LAX and DL rep today us it's a shorter ride to the hotel than LAX. Hope it works out okay we are going soon!
