That poor officer probably felt like he was on trial. The prosecutor is very aggressive. At this rate it will take forever to get through this trial.

A Detective knows that one avenue a Defense Attorney pursues is to discredit the Police and basically put them on trial. Every report is scrutinized and every action the police took is dissected and criticized. It no longer is about justice but winning at all costs. OJ and Casey Anthony taught us a few lessons. If the Defense can get one juror to question the police officer's actions its enough. Its very unsettling to be at the receiving end.

Ugh, hate to hear you're sick, my wife just got over some crap she picked up at work and now the kid is complaining about a sore throat, just waiting for my turn to be sick.

Just in case you're talking about Travis and Jodi, the detective was asking Jodi about their relationship being kinda hush hush amongst their friends, that no one knew they were still getting together especially on the phone. Then the prosecution wanted to make it clear that the detective was using that line of questioning to get her to open up and talk more about their relationship.
