It seems like they go over the same photos a million times.

Any guess who the person in the one pic holding him up after he dead?

Are you speaking of the photo that shows the pant leg and the shoe? I am wondering if that can be blown up larger to depict what it actually is. The defense is almost calling this officer a liar. I wonder what the jury thought about her statement of " No Jury Will Convict Me "?

It was so aggravating how he was trying to discredit the detective.
It does not change that the man died. Whether he was shot first or his throat slit.
And that the one sitting at the table told 3 different stories before she finally said she did it.

Loved her comment "Mark my words no jury will ever convict me".

That poor officer probably felt like he was on trial. The prosecutor is very aggressive. At this rate it will take forever to get through this trial.

I'm officially addicted to this trail.

I had a lot of things to do today so I was happy there was no testimony.
Thats bad...........

Can't wait till Monday.

what exactly does the defense think was perjury? I only get to see the first part of each day so it's hard to keep up.

The detective put into his report in August of 2008 that the victim was shot first. That was what he understood from the ME, so he finalized his report and turned it in.
Then apparently that wasn't the way it happened and he was stabbed first. Before another hearing last year he spoke with the ME who must have said it was the other way around and so the detective said during the hearing that he was stabbed first. So the defense said he was perjuring himself.

The detective explained that was what he understood the sequence was at the time of the murder. He could not go back and change a report 3 years later.

It made it sound like he committed the crime. They will try this tactic several times through out the trial I am sure. Court starts late and does not go long, it will take a while to get through it.

He did, didn't he?
I was aggravated.

But my Husband is a Police Detective so it hits home for me.
I would never be able watch him be questioned by a Defense Attorney like that. I would loose it.

:lmao: Me too! :rotfl:

And I can only take phone calls during the jury's lunch. ;)

Wow! The story's you could tell. But if you notice after the defense was done with him, the prosecutor came back and was really aggresive to get the point across.

From what I understand, the reason the defense is so hell bent to discredit the sequence of whether Arias stabbed or shot Travis first is to take the death penalty off the table in hopes of saving her life should she be found guilty. If Travis was shot and died before all the knife wounds to include slitting his throat, then he didn't suffer and might not have her (Arias) crime construed as (6) murder committed in an especially heinous, cruel or depraved manner.

The following year, the Arizona Legislature enacted A.R.S. § 13–454, setting forth a new procedure for
death penalty cases. The new statute provided for a separate sentencing hearing to be held before the
trial court, rather than a jury, and enumerated six aggravating circumstances that could be considered in
deciding whether to impose a death sentence: (1) prior conviction for which a sentence of life
imprisonment or death was imposable; (2) prior serious offense involving the use or threat of violence;
(3) grave risk of death to others; (4) procurement of murder by payment or promise of payment; (5)
commission of murder for pecuniary gain; and (6) murder committed in an especially heinous, cruel or
depraved manner. The Legislature subsequently added the following aggravating circumstances: (7)
murder committed while in custody (effective Oct. 1, 1978); (8) multiple homicides (effective Sept. 1,
1984); (9) murder of a victim under 15 years of age (effective May 16, 1985) or of a victim 70 years of
age or older (effective July 17, 1993); and (10) murder of a law enforcement officer (effective Sept. 30,
1988).
The State was then required to prove at least one of these aggravating circumstances beyond a
reasonable doubt before the court could consider imposing the death penalty.
