Joanne and Paul's VR - 4th May 2011

I love your invites Joanne! They are a fab colour...Perfect for a Swan VR! Your jewellery is fab too!! I love the diy bracelet! You've done such a fab job on everything!

My sweet Crissy - Thank you!!! Our flight is around 10 hours. A long one but sooo worth it when you land in beautiful Florida. Not so good when going home, and after all those hours you are back in rainy (well, misty today) England!!!
I am glad you like the invitations and bracelet. I don't feel I have made a particularly good job of it, but it should at least last the day out!!!
How are things with you? Any news as to whether I will have the pleasure of meeting you on 4th May?

Wow 10 hours. Yes, the 10 hours will fly by on your way in but going home it'll feel like forever.

LOL, I'm still unemployed so I'm going to say 'Yes, I'll be there'. I really, really need to find a job and thats just frustrating me (and keeping me up at nights). But even if I am working by then I'll try my best to make or at least meet up while you are honeymooning. :goodvibes

ETA: I love the luggage tags and that you are personalizing them with your family's favorite character!! That's so sweet of you.

I figured out the font on your wedding dress box...it is called Shelley Volante and I found it for free online when I did a google search. I thought I would pass it on so that you can use it in future DISigns on the creative boards, or in case you wanted to match it for something for your VR.

Hi Joanne,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Broken my leg and can't sit up at the pc for long:scared1:. Luckily Chris is off today so I can use his laptop.

Soooo excited seeing your dress in the box picture. It all seems so real and so close now. I got butterflies looking at it, next time you see your dress you'll be there in the sunshine (not here in the gloom!).

You're more than entitled to a few panics now, you've been so calm and organised all through your planning.

Big excited hugs to you and can't wait for your big day pics xxxxx

Claire sweetie - Thank you!!! I am getting beyond excitement now!!!!!Excitement and panic is a very heady mixture!! I posted in you PJ. Please look after yourself my sweet Claire.

Joanne, I hope things are going well with you ... only a little over a month left to go! I wanted to post and make sure you'd gotten the info about the Rolls? :goodvibes

Amy sweetie - I am so sorry I didn't get back to you!! With a little over a month to go things are more than a little crazy here!!!
I did get the information on the rolls. Thank you so much!! Unfortuately, however, due to budget constraits (which are really kicking in now we are coming down to the wire!!), we will have to stick with the limo.
I am getting slack at posting on this PJ but there is just so much to do here!!
I have finished the welcome bags and have started on the favour bags for the ladies teaparty. We have decided against doing favour bags for the boys' Grub 'n' Golf. We were really struggling to think of things to put in them that would be useful and well received. We were going to do caps (ordered through Vistaprint), but the more we thought about it, there were really only about two or three of the men who would probably have worn them and it all seemed such a waste of money!! So now the boys will probably just get their lunch, a bottle of water and some mints!! Good enough for them I say!!!:lmao:
I think we have finally decided on the music selections so will post them when I get a chance!!!
I have a big planning document I need to fill out, scan and send to Karen, so that is this week-end's main job!!!
I swear by the time we get to the day itself I will be so exhusted I will fall asleep in Citricos over my dinner!!!!:faint:

Hi!

So... your vow renewal is.. NEXT MONTH!! :yay:

Hope you are well and all the plans are coming together :goodvibes

Emma princess: x

Don't fret Joanne, everything will fall into place and get done. :goodvibes

It is probably best that you kept the guys bags light, that way there's less stuff to carry and/or forget. How are you getting all the stuff over here (favours, bags, etc)? Additional suitcases or shipping it?

Joanne, no need to apologize! I just wanted to be certain that you had what you needed to make a decision. I'm sure the limo will be just as comfy and do the job nicely! :thumbsup2

Hello! I just wanted to say Congrats and wow everything seems beautiful and so well thought out and planned, I am greatly impressed!

My story is a bit the same as yours, abusive husband that I left with two teens married my soulmate..

We have just decided to do a VR on our 5th anniversary which will not be until Sept 2013 and my head is spinning. We need that time to save up, we have a WDW trip for this Sept with my teens and a suprise one day visit just for MVMCP for DD bday.

I emailed for info but where do I start exactly? I would LOVE your input feel free to PM me.

Sweet Tasha
Thank you for posting!!! Iam so happy that you managed to leave all the abuse and heartache behind you and find your soulmate!! We are obviously much alike!!
Thank you for your lovely comments!!
This VR has taken a lot of planning. We first decided to go ahead with it in more than two years ago :scared1:. Originally we planned it for our 10th anniversary but due to the commitments of other family members, decided this year would be better. Our VR will now take place 11 years and 5 days after we were married
Planning it has been a long, twisty turny road!! We have changed our minds several times over different things. We started out planning a DFTW Escape but switched to S/D when we realized we could get more 'bang for our buck' with them. We were also getting a little frustrated with all of Disney's rules and regulations. It is a big thing for me to say it because I am the biggest Disney fan ever (and always will be) but it was all starting to hack me off!!
Since we switched to S/D it has been heavenly plain sailing!!
All that said, I have enjoyed EVERY MOMENT of my planning journey and I am now soooo looking forward to my big day. We really are into final countdown now (only 9 more shifts to do at work :woohoo:).
I guess to start off with you need to decide the following:-
What type of day you want (big or small, formal or informal etc)
What is important to you (photography, location etc)
Budget (this is a big consideration!!)
When you want the day to be.
When you have that framework in place, you can build around it and start to contact companies, planners and vendors. You are lucky to have the September trip planned. It might be an idea to have a scout of any venues you are interested in and see what you think.
This is basically how I started my planning!!
If you need any other help, don't hesitate to ask!!! I am sooo happy to help!!!
Good luck and..... oh yeah MANY CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Sweet Emma - Thanks and your big day is not so far away either!!!!

My sweet Crissy - It will all be fine I am sure :scared:
We are taking extra cases. We have 4 adult allowances (me, Paul, Henry and Alfie) and are doing a 'meet and greet' parking at the airport, so that we don't need to lug the luggage too far - should be okay I think!!
Are you going to James and Jeffery's wedding?

Amy sweetie (I don't know what happened to your quote, I pressed it!!) - Thank you. You know, I am kind of looking forward to riding in the limo - not something we get to do too often in the UK (though it is becoming more popular here)

Joanne - you are about a month away! When do you leave for the United States?

We'll be in Disney a week from today. :scared1::banana: I'm more nervous than scared actually but couldn't find a "smiley" for 'nervous'. :rotfl:

Hope all is well!

I hadn't realized that -- that's so interesting that they're not as common in the UK! I think I sort of take them for granted because Jeff has driven limos for several years as a source of extra income and we've often got one parked in the driveway, LOL. His run last night in fact is paying for most of our VR cake cost! :thumbsup2

Dearest James - Thank you so much!!

Michelle sweetie - Yay!!! You are nearer than me!!! How are you holding out?
The combination of nervousness and excitement is a pretty heady mixture isn't it? Good luck with the final week's preparations!!!
We have a beautiful hotel booked at Manchester airport on Saturday 30th April and will have a lovely dinner there before trying to get some sleep, which will probably be impossible for me!! DH will sleep no matter what!! DH and I have the room to ourselves that night (the rest of the trip we will be sharing DVC villas/hotel rooms with other family members), so we are having champagne and chocolates together once we are alone!!
Our flight leaves at 11.00am and as it's a transatlantic flight we have to check in 3 hours before so need to be at check in at 8.00 am at the latest.
After a 10 hour flight we should arrive at MCO at about 4.00pm local time on the 1st May.
My intention is to have everything packed and ready to go by the end of Thursday (28th April) so that I can spend the Friday watching the royal wedding.

Amy sweetie - As I said, they are becoming more popular in big towns and cities over here (especially for things like hen parties - not so much weddings).
I live in the heart of the countryside and most of our little lanes could not accomodate such a large vehicle!!!
