James - Thanks for reading again!!! You know, when I started this PJ, I genuinely felt that people would not be interested in reading about a VR at the Swan!!! I am so honoured that so many people are following along!!
I am very impressed with the multi-tasking!!! DH can only ever do one thing at a time!!! Hope the precious little one is allowing you to get some sleep!!

I've just discovered the Disney Weddings podcast and listened to your episode last week... well done! - it was nice to hear more about Swan/Dolphin weddings and vow renewals .. we once saw a small wedding taking place there along the canal, opposite the Boardwalk

It's fun to hear an English accent against the American ones! I was on All About the Mouse once and found it very odd to hear my voice among all the familiar american accents hehe.

Hello my very dear (very loyal and patient) friends!!! I am so sorry I have not been updating much lately!! This is partly because real life has been getting in the way, and partly because there is not much to update!!! We have reached the stage where most of the planning/booking is all done and we are waiting to do the 'last minute' stuff. That said, I am beginning to have a few episodes of panic about some of the things still left to do!!!

I picked up my dress last week and it is perfect!!! Well, I think so . It didn't need any alterations, which saved me some money!! It is all folded, tissued and packed into it's travelling box. It will not be seeing the light of day again until it is unpacked when we arrive at BLT!!! It will be travelling on the plane with me as it is packed into a box which conforms to the accepted dimensions for hand luggage. Luckily, I won't have to check it in and, thus it will not have to leave my sight for the whole journey!!! Lori from Loftis Productions is coming to BLT on the Tuesday (3rd May) at 11.30 am to steam my dress.
Here is a picture of it all packed into it's little box

DD was kind enough to take a photo of all my jewellery together. I guess it's not too good but will give you all some idea of how it all fits together!! On the bottom right is the bracelet which started life as a headband and has been rather crudely turned into a bracelet by yours truly!!! Jewellery making is clearly not one of my strong points, but it looks fine on and will have to do!!! On the bottom left is the hair comb (for the back of my hair) which matches said amateur-made bracelet!!! At the top are my earrings, which I love and which (although not clear in this picture) have a little hidden Mickey on each one!!!

Lastly, here is a picture of the official invitations which have all gone out now along with the invitations for the Ladies Afternoon Tea and the Gents Grub 'n' Golf. I do not have a photo of these unfortunately!!! I also sent another newsletter out with these things. Again, it is not the best of picture but you get the idea!!! The ribbon around the pocket is a shimmering silver colour, but looks really strange and stripey in the photo. I assure you that they look better in real life!!!

I have some of the labels/packaging done for the welcome bags and hope to have most of them all sorted by the end of March!! Hum, we'll see!!! Then it will be concentrating on getting the favour bags for the Ladies Tea and Grub 'n' Golf, VR day favours, programmes, information booklets......... eeek panic!!!!

I am so jealous. You have not posted because all your choices have been made and I have not posted because I have made none. I looked at my ticker and saw 1 month and a few weeks and now having a heart attack. I do not even know what we are wearing. The invitations are only half done, still trying to fill our welcome bags and we have to make our final payment still. I am so far behind it is making me sick. It sounds like you have it all under control. Can't wait until your wedding and hearing all about it.

Sweet Kristi - Thanks!! I can barely believe that we are so close!!! It seems like just yesterday we were talking about it being 18 months away and now we are less than two months away!!! I never believed it when brides said on the boards that their planning time was flying, but it is so true!!! Your special day will be here before you know it, believe me!!!

Jilian sweetie - I love my jewellery too!! It sparkles so prettily in the light!!! I really hope that it doesn't rain because we will get moved indoors and my jewellery wil not be seen in all it's glory!!!
Lori has been so great so far - answering e-mails and enquiries very quickly!! She was highly recommended by Karen, and is cheaper than Carolyn Allen who I was originally looking into. I have sent her a picture of my gown (at her request) so she knows exactly what she is up against and is coming on the day before our VR to our room at BLT. Here is her e-mail address

Joanne, I love your jewelry, and your invitations are simply fabulous! They turned out wonderfully! I've always loved your monogram, and on the invitations with the shimmery paper and little crystals it looks even more amazing!

And I wanted you to be the first outside our household to know ... we are cancelling our DFTW vow renewal and changing to the Swan tomorrow! We are so excited and I'm totally okay not having the MK shoot (we're hoping to do the Studios instead now!). I have you to thank for showing us the option. Now we're going to get exactly what we want with no silly rules or compromises. Thank you!!

Amy sweetie - First let me say thank you for the honour of being first to know outside your household!!! It really feels like we are special friends now
It must have been a difficult decision for you - I know you have had to compromise on some things that were very close to your heart. Obviously, I haven't had my VR yet, but I can honestly say that so far, I have not regretted for a day, ditching the DFTW idea and switching over to a S/D VR. I watch the boards closely, and see our friends who are DFTW brides having hassles with contacting their planners etc. and seeing their original dreams being altered to fit in with the rules and restrictions imposed by DFTW, and I am so glad I am going down the route I am!!! Don't get me wrong, I am the biggest Disney fan on the planet and I understand why they have to make some of these rules, but I would not like to have to contend with them when planning out my dream VR!!
I hope you don't regret your decision - I am pretty sure that you won't!!! Karen is an absolute angel and so efficient!! I am glad that I have had some influence in steering you in her direction!!!
I am looking forward to hearing all your revised plans when you are ready and welcome, my sweet Amy, to our small but very distinguished group of S/D brides!!! Yay!!!
