So those of you who have been kind and patient enough to follow my PJ will know that I have been struggling with what to have in my hair/on my head for the VR. I was thinking of a birdcage veil, but decided that I would worry about it all day (was it in the right place, was it slipping etc) so binned the idea. Then I ordered a hairband from Etsy and, although I loved it, I felt it was just 'not me' to wear a hairband!! The jewel from the headband has since been transformed (via my limited crafting skills) to a bracelet, which I am very pleased with and which I will be wearing on the day.
So now I think I have the answer. I intend to ask Patricia to style my hair something like this. Thanks go to Disney-bride 2010 as it is her photos I stole from the 'Hair and make-up' thread.
I am not sure if mine will be exactly like this as I think my hair is slightly shorter (shoulder length) and I have a fringe (I believe known as bangs in USA), but that is the kind of look I am going for.
I intend to order this comb from the Etsy seller from whom I purchased the hairband which has a new life as a bracelet!!! It matches said bracelet
This I will have Patricia place a the back of my hair somewhere and leave it at that. With me, I feel less is more and my gorgeous DH agrees that I would not suit anything more elaborate.
In other news, I contacted Karen (my planner) about confetti and she said that that the Swan was more or less happy for my guests to chuck whatever they want at us (obviously within reason!!). I have today taken delivery of two packets of paper confetti from (yep you guessed it) Etsy. Here is a picture
Mine are actually punched from 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Peter Pan'. These are two books which were very important to me as a child. DH has memories of 'Alice' too. His memories, however, are concerned with being scared on first seeing the Disney version of 'Alice in Wonderland' and hiding behind a chair!!!!
I intend to mix this paper confetti with terracottery orange rose petals (similar to the colours of the flowers we will be using) for our guests to toss. This will hopefully make for a good 'confetti toss' photo!!
Again, my thanks go to the Disbride who first brought the paper confetti to my attention. I am ashamed to admit that I have forgotten your name.
