Jill Duggar's wedding

The only thing I thought was a little odd, was how the wedding party literally ran out of the church.:confused3 I could understand walking out faster and excited...but running.....just odd to me.

I have come to believe most things on reality TV are scripted, that being said Jill and Derrick seem genuinely happy. I wish them all the best.

As far as Jessa and Ben, I think that he is young and still a little immature. I also wish them the best.

Have you all noticed that one of the younger girls, I think Jennifer, never talks in the interviews and never seems to smile. The other little ones are all excited and talking over each other, but she just sits there. Just an observation, maybe she is just shy.

Anna and Josh seem like a "normal" (but hey, what's normal LOL) and happy family. I think after kid #3, Anna sees how difficult it is, and is going to wait awhile to have anymore (from a recent show, she was kind of talking about it, can't remember her exact words, but it sounded like she was happy with 3 right now) Plus, I think Mackynzie and Michael are absolutely adorable.....love those two.

I like watching the Duggars and even though I don't understand and agree with all of their ways and beliefs.... I really hope they are truly happy. :flower3:

"Cinder" Ella's Mom YES!!!! I agree with you!! Jim Bob is super creepy to me. The part where he had to be the one to tell them they could kiss was really creepy. And I caught when he said that he was giving the bride away and then quickly caught himself and said her mother and I. The whole thing is so weird. My daughter and I watch the show and I don't know why I watch it because all I do is comment!! Jim Bob is so strange. His laugh, his whole "thing". He is laughing all the way to the bank. I don't know if it is just an act or if he really is controlling his entire family. Somehow (and this is just MY opinion) I think there is much more to this than meets the eye. I keep thinking that someday a lot of stuff is going to come out about Jim Bob. And both my daughter and I agree that Michele must be on something. Her looks and how she talks is not normal. And Jessa! There's something up with her too. I loved how they caught her giving a very "jealous" look. Yes I know that the editing is done toward a certain story, but I think she's mad because she wasn't the first girl to marry. And her boyfriend, Ben. He certainly does not come off as being exactly smart. And he's so young. I hope Jana and Jinger get some sense and get far away. Just my 2 cents.

Ben and Jessa got married this weekend. Show will air next season.

Odd quote though from Ben's dad:

"Thanks to all our friends and family," Michael, 39, told the crowd. "It's a blessing to see Ben and Jessa's life together, and we pray they grow closer."

Why would you have to pray that they grow closer? Don't people in love think they are already pretty close to each other?

Bears out all the speculation that they are an awkward couple and that this may be a marriage that neither one of them would have chosen on their own.

Cynthia Jeub is the daughter of from a family that was featured on Kids by The Dozen on TLC. She and her sister are claiming they were abused. http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2014/10/cynthia-jeub-abuse-mom-wendy/

Anyone else remember this family? I do.

How is that the Roloff kid could get married and they showed his wedding like 10 days later and yet we have to endure MONTHS of leadup to a Duggar wedding and by the time they show it, she is already pregnant?! I'm sure Jessa will be having a baby in about 9 months....unless she was able to ditch her chaperone and a baby arrives in 8 months?! LOL Wouldn't that be funny?

I was thinking we would be seeing a "premie" too with the fast wedding only 2 months after the engagement and Ben's dad's weird statement how they are praying the get closer.

Here is another good blog about the Duggars, although if you are a Duggar supporter, you probably do not want to read it.

Did anyone notice if Josiah was at the wedding? He has not been on the show recently.

He has been a bad boy and apparently was sent to Gothard's Alert Academy after his HS graduation this year to squash any of his rebel tendencies.

pictures from Jessa's wedding are up :-)

Interesting to read the did not kiss during the ceremony as they wan't it to be private. I commend them for that. It is their relationship not their families or 1000 guests at the wedding.

I can only find one wedding pic of Jessa and Ben. If there are more, can someone post a link?

You guys are stretching pretty far to find something to criticize, aren't you? Ever hear a married couple talk about how they "love each other now more than when they were newlyweds" at their Golden Anniversary? This is a pretty innocuous blessing - move along, nothing sinister to see here folks. :rolleyes1

The fetus s probably about 36 cells big right now, ready for it's trip to implant in the uterus!

Well, I hope they had fun last night. I hope it will be worth the next 70 years married to someone you may orr may not like for a TV show.

Wow it is quite possible they do love each other why be so negative. I hope they are enjoying their honeymoon.

married to someone Daddy picked for you ... :rolleyes1

Am I the only one that thinks saving the first kiss for marriage puts a lot of pressure on the wife?

You go from months of only side hugging and holding hands, to having your first kiss on the same day you are expected to have sex for the first time! That's a pretty big leap IMO.

Married or not, I think there is some time needed to build up to the comfort needed to give yourself to a man for the first time ( for lack of a better way to say it)

I can sort of see (in their belief system) saving your first kiss for engagement. But I think missing out on some old fashioned 'make out' time would make the wedding night a lot more nerve racking!

I think it puts a huge amount of pressure on both the husband and the wife. I would think both would want/need more time to become that comfortable with one another (most especially given how "sheltered"--for lack of a better word--their lives have been).

(Then again, I would never think of it as "giving yourself to a man" and do think of it as being very intimate and trusting and sharing with someone else---regardless of gender; they probably see it more as you say, which might put even more pressure on the wife than the husband--but I still think it must be a lot for both)

I do remember that family. IIRC, the oldest child (I think, a girl) had been "kicked out" when they did their show as I could have sworn it was mentioned on the show that aired--but that would have been 5-6 years ago. The one daughter did work for dad. She electively wore skirts and refused pants whole mom and all the female children wore pants.

Is this the same family? At the time--even if they were a strict Christian family (and by that I don't mean abusive), I did not see anything wrong with kicking out the oldest child. But I was sure she was already an adult.:confused3

But maybe TLC has aired too many families and I am mixing them all up.

I thought this was the family that bought 1 large pizza at Costco for them all to share and then had samples to complete their meal. The girl who wore skirts felt it unfair that the samples would be served in smaller portions when the demonstrators saw their family coming.

(Don't ask me why these little details stuck with me.:happytv:)

She is about 2-3 weeks behind me on due date and it seems plausible that all is as it appears.

When were they married?
