I found this woman a refreshing breath of fresh air. An example to young women everywhere. This attractive engaged energetic well-spoken youthful politician surely gives lie to the following statement by republican poster girl Ann Coulter:

My pretty-girl allies stick out like a sore thumb amongst the corn-fed, no make-up, natural fiber, no-bra needing, sandal-wearing, hirsute, somewhat fragrant hippie chick pie wagons they call "women" at the Democratic National Convention.

The above taken from an article Coulter wrote for USA Today, which they rejected. However it is still proudly displayed on her website.

WOW..who is Ann Coulter??? Sounds like she needs a Midol! :earseek:

Being a "Michigander" I'm very familiar with Jennifer Granholm and was *very* proud of her speech last night. An intelligent, warm, devoted woman...first in her family to attend college. And the first female governor in Michigan. She's a very good role model for young women today...imho.

Ann Coulter is an extremely attractive ( I think ) intelligent young woman often seen on talk shows. The best picture I couls find to jog yuor membory is at http://www.greatbookstore.com/author_search.php?q=Ann Coulter

You are right, she did go way over the top in that article.

You have every right to be proud of Granholm last night. Heck, I was proud of her for her Canadian connection lol

It occurs to me that in a perfect bizarro world it would be ironic to see the constitution changed to allow Arnie to run for president and have Jennifer take advantage of the change.

Jennifer Granholm is a powerful speaker. However, I feel that that is her greatest talent-- her ability to make a good speech. I hope she can do for Michigan half of the things she promises.

i like jennifer granholm (and i really detest ann coulter, but that's another thread ;) ), but i didn't think last night's speech was anything special.

I am also very proud of Jennifer Granholm. She's a very articulate, intelligent, reasonable woman. And I'm glad I voted for her!

I hope so, too, jkovick. And I have faith she will.

As for Ann Coulter, I did a little research on her after I first posted to this thread. I'll take the high road, a place she's never heard of, and keep my opinions to myself.

I'm still thinking about Obama's speech from Tuesday night. While I thought Jennifer Granholm gave a good speech, his speech honestly moved me. What did you think of his speech, caity?

I didn't see Sharpton. To be honest, he creeps me out and I can not tolerate him. So I didn't watch. (Didn't take the high road there, did I????) ;)

I have to agree with you. I skipped watching his speech, and I am very sorry I did. I am going to download it and give it a listen. While it appears he shocked some, the clips I saw of his speech he seemed restrained. And I had avoided it because I was afraid he would go way out there.

I thought Obama's speech was like none I had ever seen. And I go back to the Kennedy/Nixon debates. This young man has a true gift for oratory. I felt like I was watching a piece of history when I listened to him. I suspect we will be seeing clips from that speech for decades.

It was not my intent to compare Ms Granholm to anyone. Certainly Obama set the bar so high comparisons would be hollow. She is new to my consciousness and I wanted to see how others reacted to her.

FIK I agree with everything you've posted......Except where you called that nazi...um...female dog Anne Coulter "intelligent". ::yes::

Attractive, I'll grant you....But so are many species of snake. The venom that...um...woman....spews is just as nasty as anything the most poisonous cobra in all of India ever conjured up....Worse, even, 'cause the snake can't help being what it is, while that blond...um...person ought to know better.

Sorry...Discussing Anne Coulter with a profanity filter in place ain't easy :teeth:

my conservative ideologue mil tried to get me to read one of ann coulter's books recently. i tried several times to politely decline and i finally had to tell my mil exactly what i thought of ann coulter to get her to leave me alone. i think i scared her. :p

I have to admit, I do not like her. Never have. I was trying to be cautious in my assessment of her. I work very hard at not letting my emotions cloud my judgement. Perhaps this time I went too far.
