I just love the dancing bananas!!!!!
PS day 2 pt 2
The rest of the floral discussion was really fun. I didnt know I would have so much fun picking out flowers...lol. Our floral consultant was Heather and she was great.
This is what we decided on initially....we havent gotten the intial BEO yet so hopefully we wont have to cut...much
Brides bouquet- N/A
Bridesmaids bouquet-purple hydrangea with white roses and stephanotis(we had fun with that flower..lol) Also will have hidden mickey and purple wrapping with a vinyl jr tucked in
Grooms boutonniere-main flower matches brides bouquet, with white stephanotis in front and hidden mickey.
Groomsman boutonnieres- one white rose, with purple wrapping and a hidden mickey
Fathers/Grandfathers/Ushers-single white rose with floral tape
Mothers-Corsages with ribbon matching dress
Ceremony: plain white aisle runner, with pink and white rose petals on the side. Pew markers have matching floral similar to bridesmaids bouquets. Pew markers have fabric swags from each pew. Thought about a chuppah, but decided that it wasnt neccessary.
Staged exit is going to be petals thrown in sheet music holders(our tie in that were both musicians) similar to this
Reception: Translucent/metallic teal/purple tablecloth, with black satin napikins with pink holders. Centerpieces will be white roses in medium size holders with teal/purple/pink water beads and LED lights. Votive candle holders will also be placed on the tables. The long bridal party table will have two vinyls dressed as bride and groom placed in the middle with floral running down the sides of the table. We will also be re-using the pew marker flowers on this table as well.
Like we said..this is all initial..so hopefully not a lot will have to be cut.....
So after Heather was done with the floral stuff it was time for MENU TASTING!!!...bring on the bananas!!!!

We got in Meri's NASCAR...lol that will always be an inside joke with us now and took a wild ride over to the boardwalk convention center...which Ive never been in in like 50 stays there...and we had to take the usual sign picture with our moms

We then met up with the chefs...Barney,Charles...and the server..Glenn I think...and we had a great time.
I just have to say that I totally was not expecting what they gave us. Every plate was a full plate of food and the set-up was great. We had selected 5 cocktail hour options and 3 entree options to taste.
First up was the coconut shrimp with orange Horse Radish Marmalade and Spanakopitas with Artichoke Tomato Tapenade. The coconut shrimp was amazing and the marmalade made it even better. I think I had like 10 of them cause everyone kept giving theirs to me...I didnt try the Spanakopitas, but they said it was good
Next was the Bacon and blue cheese beef w/balsamic sun-dried tomato pesto, Artichoke and goat cheese bruschetta, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops with a Thai Sweet Chili Sugar Glaze. The scallops were good, but nothing special to me. I didnt try the artichoke bruschetta, but Trace said she liked it. The beef was fantastic though. I didnt know about it when I first saw it, but it tasted great and the pesto sauce added great flavors to it.
The first entree that we had picked was the Pan seared Mahi Mahi with creamed spinach and Applewood Bacon. THIS WAS THE BEST THING I TASTED. I dont like vegetables, especially spinach, but the creamed sauce that came with the fish was amazing. They paired it with a risotto that was great as well. I only hope that at the reception it tastes just like it did on that day cause if it doesnt I will be upset...
Next was Francaise Style Boneless chicken Breast sautéed in egg batter...and let me say that it sounds better than it is. It was ok, Im glad that we changed it our for another chicken dish though. I forgot to take a picture of it, but thats ok.
Last was the Three Peppercorn and Whole Grain Mustard Rubbed Beef Strip Loin. This was great as well and Im glad we ended with this and not the chicken...lol. Both sauces were very tasy.
Before we left we had to take a picture with our chefs. Our moms switched sides for the picture.
Wow long post....be back with part 3 later...
