Jay and Tracie's Wishes Wedding PJ 01/06/12...3-12..TR, Disney Day 2, pt 2

Just read your whole PJ and I must say you guys are ADORABLE!!! You look like such a fun couple! everything looks great so far! It's nice to see a groom so involved with all of the planning! I love the favourite music CD...I might have to steal that idea! As for the door hangers....I like the second one best! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to hear more!
Thanks a lot. We do have a lot of fun together...especially at Disney..lol
Ive seen the cd idea on some other peoples PJs so thats where it came from, though we did want to do it the whole time. I love that Im a groom on here doin all this. Trace and I were out somewhere and there was a couple discussing wedding stuff and the groom was just so not into it..he was like whatever you want do whatever...I find that to just be weird....Sometimes i find myself talking about wedding stuff more than Trace....lol...I think we will go with the second one for the door hanger...we just have to see if we want to add our secondary colors on the bottom.

Aren't the BEO's so much fun lol! You guys are lucky you didn't get hit with the big fee on the DJ. Ours is 2800 because it is December and there is no way around that. We are doing the same with our coach. I think we are just going to do the minimum hours because of most of our guests are at the Boardwalk and with the ceremony ending at 8 we figure most people will go out afterwards anyway. I wanted to do the marquee on the ADH but again it is one of those things thats not necessary so maybe last minute we will add it in. You guys did good coming in around your budget!!!

Our BEO gave me a headache....lol..Its so much fun at the planning session to pick stuff...then you get the bill and its like oh thats how much that is....
That sucks that your dj has to be more expensive...but I guess if you cant do anything about it theres no need to fight it. I didnt know there was a minimum for the coach..I thought the 9 hr was the min.???
For the moment we are keeping the marqee, but its def on the list of things to go if it has too..

We did the same thing at the planning session, everything looked great so we just kept saying ok to it. Then we got the BEO and its like ok maybe that stuff isn't so important. There are a lot of decisions though!

There is a 5 hour minimum for the coaches. So we are thinking we may just get a couple of one way vans for $40 to bring the few guests that may want to go back to hotel afterwards. It just seems crazy to spend $100 an hour for the driver to just there and do nothing.

meh..I passed by a post on some stuff to include on a times guide earlier in the week, and I have been looking forever to try and find it again, but havent found it yet. It had info on fastpass, photopass, and other stuff like that.

anyone know?

so our deposit is in.....and we have officially booked the Arndts as our photographers for our wedding!!!

Good luck with your BEO!! I know that can definitely be stressful. I think you could definitely cut the champagne - at our wedding we had it but the best man forgot to actually make a toast during his speech so we never really had a "toast"! And I completely forgot about it and with so much going on I never actually drank the champagne that I had.

Floral BEO is in and I will post that later. We didn't do as bad as I thought, so that's good, though we still may need to cut some stuff. It's game day as well...fight on for USC, and let's make those Sooners become Laters Seminoles!! GO NOLES!!!

YaY!!! :yay:

Can't wait to see it. :goodvibes

Ok so I know I said I would post the floral yesterday, but the FSU game got me upset and I didn't feel like it....lol..

BUT, today is our registry day a Macy's and bed, bath, and beyond...or B cubed as we call it...so I'm sure after scanning and scanning to my hearts content I'll try to post it later. Were also gonna talk it over dinner and try to make some cuts, though I don't want to...well maybe some stuff...

Alright it's Sunday let's go dolphins!!!

OK..so ill post our initial floral BEO.

So not as bad as the other BEO...lol...but still a lot I guess...we started talking about cuts and some were easy:banana:..and some are just honestly heartbreaking:sad1:. We tried envisioning our wedding with all the ceremony floral and no reception decor. and then tried it with no ceremony floral, but with all the reception decor we had. Its just devastating. We looked at pictures of the WP with floral and no floral, and although we love it by itself, I just cant see Trace walking down the aisle withought the runner and petals and the floral. And then we looked at pictures of ADH again with chair covers and with blank chairs and the red and black pattern of the existing chairs just dont go with any of the colors we chose. Unless we can use the existing chairs on the second level..were not using those tables anyways..because those chairs dont have any colored backing and we actually kinda liked.

And if you notice the centerpieces arent even priced because we didnt get the picture to Heather in time. So we have no clue how much more that would add.

One thing we thought of doing was changing the menu and dropping the cocktail hour food. we would switch from the "glass coach" buffet to the "floridian" buffet wut keeping the 3 main course dishes we tasted in. That would drop the price 20 bucks per plate saving us about 3000. Dont know if its possible yet..or if it even happening, just an option. IDEAS????:confused3

On a better note...we did our registry today at Macys and B cubed, and that was fun. Macys suggested we scan 150 items for the number of guests we are having....we did 44...guess well have to add more online or make another trip..lol

well happy monday tomorrow.....

Anyway to make this any bigger or clearer??? I can't read it very well sorry, then I can give you some ideas for cutting. I'm getting good at it lol. We had a lot to cut from our BEOs!!!

Alright so now that its a little more legible....any ideas?????

I know it is so hard to cut things that you want, but it seems like you have to... so here are my thoughts on what I would do. I know that you may have different options so make of it what you will!

Would the mothers and grandmothers, fathers and grandfathers be offended if they didn't have any sorts of flowers? We didn't do anything for them and no one had a problem with it, your family might be different though.
I also don't know about the details about what you're allowed to bring in to the wedding pavilion and what you have to use of Disney's, but would you be able to provide your own aisle runner? I've seen some really nice ones for a lot less than that.
Perhaps see if the bridesmaid bouquets can be a little smaller than the MOH's? How big are the bouquets?
Maybe if you really like everything you have you could just cut parts of each one? Like, keep the ceremony decor but cut the swag? And then

It doesn't help that Disney way over charges for stuff :( I had a rose bouquet here in NY at a florist that is definitely not cheap, but it was about half the price of what you're paying. Good luck! I know it's really difficult.

Oh, and one other thought. We got boutinneres for our ring bearers to wear, age 5, and one of them absolutely would not wear it and the other took it off as soon as he could. It's such a cute idea in theory but may not be necessary or even work with young kids!

Hey Jay,

So here's my two cents....a lot of that stuff you can order from an outside vendor....I know there's tons of places that do even better aisle runners for cheaper and also, have you considered fake floral. My personal floral is made of real-touch flowers and they look incredible for a fraction of the cost! Since you are using the WP it shouldn't be a problem to bring in your own stuff. All you need is someone to set it up for you...because I don't think Disney will do that. Unless you really want to use Disney and/or you feel it's cutting it too close...I think it's definately something to look into! :thumbsup2 Goodluck!

Ok so here are some thoughts for you. I made my bouquet a bridesmaid size that cut the price from $250 to 175. I then asked her to make the bridesmaid bouquets a little smaller so there's went from $115 to 75. My florist assured me they will still look great! If I were you I'd cut the aisle runner. I went to michaels and got a really pretty one of $20. I had a 40% off coupon!! I believe you can get the rose petals on the aisle down to $200 and it still looks good. My florist sent me a picture. Another thing I would think about is the napkins. I know they look nice when the table is set but once people sit down they are going to move them and have them put on their laps. We were going to do these too but then decided the table cloth colors would be enough. We are now just going with the standard white at no charge. I know its hard to give up but out of everything on the list that is probably one of the easiest, people will just be getting food on them! Good luck :)

I agree about the aisle runner. I would not go with Disney. It's one of the few things that I used an outside vendor for. My aisle runner had "happily ever after" and our date on it and was only $250 including shipping so I'm sure if you just wanted a plain white one, you would be able to find it much cheaper
