Jawa Trading

Jawa Star Wars characters come out and you can trade stuff you have, preferably shiny stuff, in return for what they have. Idk if they only have pins to give or other things as I haven't done it.

People find it fun if their Star Wars fans and because they sometimes refuse to trade if they don't like your item enough

So just any shiny object? Like a pocket mirror or something? I will look around my house for something that looks promising. :rolleyes1

Thanks! Are they just walking around and you hold your stuff out? I'm new to this. :upsidedow

My daughter traded a plastic egg a few days ago. She had a plastic bag with several different items, and the Jawa picked the egg out of the bag. He gave her a droid part.

Read the thread, huge help, thank you!

Cute pic, I will have my son pic out a few things to bring, looks fun!!!

I tried to trade them a pin, and they would not accept it. That was my shiny item.

Yes, I've read that they won't accept food, money, or pins. We traded them a little Lego X-wing pack I found at target last year. This year we are bringing a couple of Star Wars "prizes" from cereal boxes that I've been saving. Just little fun things, they do like shiny, and they also seem to like Star Wars stuff or anything that's not common. I think they see a lot of mardi gras type beads and park maps!

I would try to trade items that you think other kids would like. The Jawas will sometimes retrade those items. I've read that some people try to trade hair elastics or napkins or other odd items. Just gross imo.

The jaws trading comes from SWW days & it was always focused on trading things that could be remitted. As more non-SW focused people who aren't aware of this start trading, I hope the trend of trading for items kids would like will continue.

At 2009 SWW my son, then 10, had the best time trading with them. He had a bottle opener ring from a garage sale the jawas went crazy for and he got a AA battery. I want to trade on my trip!!!

Gross? The Jawa gave ME a hair band. Lol

We had a lot of fun with it. It's essentially a non-planned character interaction at Launch Bay (non-planned because there is no queue or FP, they are just there). We brought a tiny Tie Fighter toy, they were THRILLED. My son received several droid parts in return (which you can also buy at the store next to Star Tours). They were very enthusiastic and fun with it, and made for some fun GoPro footage for our vacation movie, and memories for my son.

They prefer shiny items. We traded a pink shiny scarf, mirrored sunglasses, and a silver jingle bell. We got droid pieces as trades.

I had not even planned to trade with them and while I was filming something else, a Jawa grabbed my camera. Made for some interesting footage! He then tried to offer me a 90s style flip-phone for it when I declined. The interaction is in this vlog. :)

They are great fun. Last trip they tried to trade for DGD! She has a trade pouch with a Jawa on it and they wanted the bag. When she didn't want to give it up they decided to trade for her instead and they took her off in to a nook in the room.
For trading, I found a bag of fake gold nuggets that are used for a Pirate Party decoration. They enjoy those. And also some big, shiny, metallic star shaped stickers.

Wait, the Jawas won't trade Disney pins anymore? I still have a Disney pin I purchased last year during SWW to trade and never got the chance. I've traded for some really cool pins with them!

We loved the Jawas! We had success with jinglebells, plastic coins, a hair clip, and a finger puppet. They rejected a plastic tire, a mini toy car, and a bouncy ball.

I'm finding all the info about Jawa trading so helpful. I'm a brand new Star Wars fan (just watched every movie, including prequels, in February) so I'm SO excited to trade with them.

Will definitely be bring some jingle bells, plastic coins and mardi gras beads. Anymore suggestions, please share!!! :-)

We traded glow bracelets ( lit them up first) and received droid parts. WAs passing through another day and the Jawa went nuts over my DDs light up shoes! Chased her around the room pointing at them! lol! No worries. She fought him off with bubbles from her new mermaid bubble wand! So fun!
