January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

Ok someone who likes to crunch numbers.

We are 2 adults, 1 infant. Staying 8 days gv gf

SPD kid size comes out $6032
Magic SPD comes out $6530
Magic RO comes out, $3557

So when I deduct our restaraunts and out food and add $300 more just in case, to us RO best deal but within reason to the kid SPD offer about about $300. But why would the regular SPD be $500 more, I can't figure it out, seems like the exact same offer, 2 adults one infant same room, same tickets, same options, same dining plan yet $500 more.

Double check the number of days on the tickets. I saw that too then realized "kid sized" means only a 2 or 3 days ticket. Thus way cheaper.

I was able to get the room only discount online at AoA for Feb 22-Mar 1. Saved me $500. I'm thrilled! We never do the dining plan because we don't eat that much. I'm so glad I don't have to do all that math! Looks so confusing, lol.

I don't understand the Disney Visa discount. I see that people are saving an additional 10% - is that off PSD or RO? I can't find any info on it on the Disney World promotions page or on the Disney Rewards page.

I don't understand either...I've had a Disney Visa for years and I knew that sometimes you get early access to discounts, but I didn't know there were times I could call and get additional discounts? Is this fairly common when new promotions are released?

So someone please tell me if this is worthwhile because I think it would be a headache to do, but if it will work I'll do it.

I want to stay at Pop Jan 28-Feb 3, dates are set, can't change them.
If I can get PSD for a shorter stay, say Jan 28-Feb 1 I would get 4 days worth of dining plan discounted, correct? It's not 6 days, but it's still some savings. Then I could book another 2 nights room only so long as I buy 6 days worth of park admission with the SPD plan? Would this all work? Dining is based on nights on site in the package vs number of days on the ticket? Is a split stay at the same resort a pain in the butt?

Just a couple of things to keep in mind if you choose this option:
1. Your dining plan will expire at midnight, the night your PSD package ends. You will need to use all credits by then or they will disappear. Also, your mugs will not be able to be used after the package ends.
2. There is a possibility you will be asked to change rooms between your 2 reservations.

Good question. So far you are the only person outside of Canada that I have heard speak of the 'Fun-Filled Escape' offer. When you go to the offer, does it have 'en_CA' anywhere in the address? If not, possibly this is not just for Canadians and others just have not mentioned it.

What is the address/link (URL) where you booked the 'Fun-Filled Escape' offer?

Thank you, scapping!

Somehow, I was looking at the Disney Canada site. Same discount, but I know the system would correct itself at some point and then I would get any discount. Went in and change it to USA and got the Gift of Magic.

I wonder if this is why I couldn't get the Visa discount.

I normally do NOT complain because I feel that all discounts are a gift, but..........
How is there NO availability for ANY discount at ANY value resort for the last 1/2 of January and first 1/2 of February? I've tried Sat-Fri and Sat-Sat and cannot find anything (and this is on my mom's travel agent website).

First half of January might be due to marathon weekend?

Glad you figured it out!

I'm not sure about the Visa discount but I would try again. Canadians are not eligible for a Disney Visa so we don't even see their offers show up on our websites.

I'm seeing plenty of availability for both Saturday-Friday as well as Saturday to Saturday for the Gift of Magic room offer. I'm just using the Disney website though, not sure if you're not seeing anything due to the TA website you're using.

I don't know but it is kind of infuriating!

I am okay with a room change. So if we leave on Feb 3 will our dining credits expire at midnight as soon as it rolling over from Feb 2 to Feb 3, or will they expire the end of the day that we actually leave?

I booked 2 new reservations - 1 night each (to sandwich our stay at the Dolphin using points). Room only discounts - WL standard view and a CR TPV CL! So excited for January!

POR was excluded, i was told the same thing. CBR and CSR were i believe the only moderates eligible for the Visa discount.
Does anyone have an idea what deluxe resorts and savings were offered for the Visa discount? I'm thinking that I may need to convince hubby that we can 'save' so much if we stay at BCR or BWI! :stitch2:
