January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

Does anyone know if/when the Gift of Magic room prices will appear on Orbitz? I usually book through there to use the % discount that they're offering, which is still cheaper than the Gift of Magic room only discount by $10. According to Mousesavers, "When there are Disney seasonal promo discounts in place, usually the discount codes can be applied on top of Disney’s promotional discount!". I'd love to be able to take advantage of the extra 15% off on top of the Gift of Magic rates if possible!

I called right when all this went live online. And French Quarter discount was already full. How is that even possible unless there really were no rooms available?! So frustrated with disney.
It's quite likely that the dates you wanted were full unless you were 100% open to any number of date duration and any time during the offer. Just 1 night of 'unavailability' during your requested dates will give you a 'no availability' message.

I'm in the same boat as I tried within minutes of the PSD offer going live to change my existing reservation/book a new one but nothing is available. Staying with the room only discount

I don't see the fun-filled escape listed on the website.
'Fun-Filled Escape' is a Canadian offer that seems to be similar to the Room Only offer out for US guests. It's not uncommon for different countries to see different/similar offers and yet they are called something different.

There was probably an hours difference between when the PSD offer was posted on the US site compared to the Canadian website. By the time it was up for us there was no availability for my dates.

I'm currently booked with pop century and its not letting me modify online so I'm on hold right now waiting to talk to a CM.
Please keep us posted. I would like to take advantage of the PSD offer but have refreshed well over 50 times in the past few hours and zero availability at Pop. :( (I am locked into certain dates though so it could be my dates are just not available.)

I reserved normal package on online few days ago, and requested change the package to PSD by phone today. But it did not change on online.
Does it take time to change? It's been almost two hours.

Okay guys what is a better deal? I have BC booked for 4 nights at about $1940 this is just room. I also have CBR booked for 4 nights with SPD and 2 days of park tickets for $2132. (I do not need tickets AP, but DH and daughter will need a couple days. We will have days left over on tickets for the cheer comp we are attending the weekend before.) From a cost perspective CBR seems like a way better deal even though I am paying for a couple days of tickets I do not need. The thing is for only about $200 more I have dining for 4 days. I can't eat any cheaper than that? Let me also say that we will be staying at one of the All Stars the week before for a cheer comp and then moving the following Monday to one of the above technically we would only possibly need one day of tickets besides what comes with our cheer package. Is BC worth the extra and then additional meals I have stayed at CBR a few times and loved it. I appreciate your feed back. Thanks!

I'm seeing availability at Pop for the third week of January, $106/night.

Went back and forth with RO vs SPD. Decided on SPD since we have a few character meals including CRT. Looks like we saved 35% off DDP as opposed to our 15% RO at AoA Finding Nemo. Hope we didn't screw up!

BREAKING NEWS

We have determined that the savings on the Stay Play Dine deal for 2018 at the VALUE resort level is 40% off the quick service dining plan. This discount remains the same from last year. HOWEVER since the dining plan, tickets, and room costs have all gone up the net cost to a family is significantly higher for the same length vacation.

There is no savings on the room or ticket portion. If you choose to upgrade the dining plan there is no additional discount on the cost to upgrade.

I also believe we have determined that the savings on the Stay Play Dine deal for 2018 at the MODERATE resort level is 45% off the Disney Dining plan. I haven't yet had a chance to confer with Don @ Mousesavers but I've run numerous scenarios all resulting in this same result. This discount remains the same from last year. HOWEVER since the dining plan, tickets, and room costs have all gone up the net cost to a family is significantly higher for the same length vacation.

I called this morning (on hold for about 45 minutes) but nothing was available to apply to my current reservation. And when I check online for the SPD "discount" there is absolutely nothing available for my dates. So I'm going to wait a day or two to see how things shake out and call again. But for now - 89 days until vacay!

It's really annoying that different CMs are giving different info. The first one told me PSD was only deal and to call back in a month for a room only deal. Then deal went live online and I was able to book and then call back for visa discount. Glad I didn't wait the month she told me to!

I don't understand the Disney Visa discount. I see that people are saving an additional 10% - is that off PSD or RO? I can't find any info on it on the Disney World promotions page or on the Disney Rewards page.

For those interested - Don @ Mousesavers.com and I have completed our analysis of the Stay Play Dine (SPD, or PSD) discount for 2018. The big news here is the discount is IDENTICAL to last year.

Here's the link to that thread one more time: https://www.disboards.com/threads/stay-play-dine-2018-calculation-thread.3638155/ The first post there has lots of details.

Here's our findings:
VALUE RESORTS: 40% off of the Quick Service Dining Plan with NO additional room discount
MODERATE RESORTS: 45% off of the Disney Dining Plan with NO additional room discount
DELUXE RESORTS: 45% off of the Disney Dining Plan PLUS an additional room discount *in some instances

*The additional room savings can be $0, I've seen some small savings at $1.75 per night (Yacht Club), modest savings $7.25 per night (Contemporary), and large savings $40.50 per night (Grand Floridian) OR $17 per night (AKL Savanna View). I believe these "savings per night" may vary based on your resort, dates, room category, and nights of the week; SO it seems it will be impossible to pinpoint all the options there.

Also just a quick plug - if you don't visit mousesavers.com often you're missing out. These guys have an AWESOME page on all things Disney World, Disney Land and Disney Cruises. They have exclusive discounts and fantastic content on how to save money. I highly recommend their site!!!

But why would it let me book the Fun Filled Escape if I am not Canadian?!?

SPD for me for the cabins at Fort Wilderness ended up being a better deal than Gift of Magic room package with dining added. The discount came out to be basically free dining for one adult and one child for our stay. For our few nights at Beach Club, the discount was $89 total over what it would have been if we had done room/ticket Gift of Magic and added dining. Since we are only there for 3 nights and basically only 2 full days tops, we are going to drop the dining plan from that reservation, because we don't 'think we're going to eat $1000 of food in 2 days.

I'm trying to book a 4 night and 5 day trip using any of the discounts - I can't get it to allow me to add 5 day tickets - it will allow 4 or 6 - doesn't matter if I am doing to SPD or the RO - I can't add 5 days of tickets - any idea as to why this is? I'm only trying online so far.

Nowhere does it say anything about the visa discount. I read about it here & called Disney. The CM applied it to my ressie. If you have DVisa then call them.

For those who received the extra Visa discount, did you book a package or room-only and which leve resort was it?

I am wondering if it was because I am at Pop with a room-only.
