January 8, 2006- 4 night Wonder- Anybody else coming with?

sapphire, sorry I can't help you with the kids clubs stuff.

My daughter was 12 the first time she cruised and didn't spend more than an hour or 2 in the kids clubs. So I have no real experience with it.

Both of mine spent time in the teen club though over the years. I know that you aren't looking for that info though.

I registered the kids for the club online, but never saw anything about medical forms. What am I missing???

emailing my TA today to see if he has my cruise docs...let you know what I find out.

You only need medical forms if there is a problem that Disney Cruise Line should know about.

We filled out one when our son cruised as he is allergic to peanuts but we have never filled any out when he's not with us.

If you need a medical form, there is one on the Disney Cruise Line site, under the documents that you can download if you need them.

I got a great present in the mail yesterday from my AAA agent!! :cheer2: :cool1:
A package of goodies came for our WDW stay including our luggage tags, AAA Diamond discount card, coupons for a AAA storybook hour with a character, AAA VIP Lounge admission and coupons for two free dinners at the Hard Rock Cafe (we probably won't use, but nice anyway!)

Also, unexpectedly, my agent included two one-time use cameras, a cool little pen and a big 16-month 50th Anniversary Disney calendar, featuring lots of great photos of WDW shows, rides and characters! :cloud9: I did not expect all that, so what a wonderful surprise! I have to call him and share my appreciation. He's been so great. Maybe this is a special deal for the 50th celebration but I am loving it!

Now if I could just get those cruise docs!!

sounds like a fun package to receive.

Now if only those cruise documents would start to arrive.

When I booked something with AAA (CAA here), I got nothing, no discounts, no gifts, nothing

It wasn't a Disney trip but our Royal Carribean Cruise. :confused3

UPS just dropped off our papers!! Gotta love it :cool1:

Got a message from my TA - when he called DCL this morning they said the documents have all been printed and are being sent out. He said ours will come FedEx and we should definitely have them by the end of the week. Merry Christmas to me!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:

Me too!!! :bounce: I got my papers around 5pm EST!! It so exciting.... we're almost there now! :earsgirl:

:thewave: How exciting.

It might take longer for mine to get here since they have to go across the border but I hope they come this week too. :cheer2:

Our documents arrived today also. They're somewhat different from past cruises, but I like that it saves paper having 1 cruise booklet with both our names on it instead of separate ones. The luggage tags are different now, too.

I'd tried to fill out the embarkation and payment authorization forms online, but couldn't get what I entered to be readable. It kept cutting off the top of all the letters, so I filled it out by hand.

I wish they'd tell us what our dining rotation is, but they don't assign that until days before the cruise. I booked Palo for the 1st night, assuming we'd have Triton's scheduled - if they surprise me I may try to change the Palo night once we're on the ship.

Yay, more documents.

:rolleyes1 I will be looking out for a delivery truck coming to my area real soon.

Did everyones come by UPS?

I wonder if they will use them to deliver mine too :confused3

Lacourre - I hope someone here can answer your questions, but if not, I can tell you that a search for "Atlantis" on the main Cruise board will give you TONS of answers. I checked the tour out over there, but we decided against it since it doesn't offer pool access, I can get to that beach myself by just hopping a cab (these excursions take you to the same beach, you're not allowed in their pretty little calm lagoons), we weren't interested in looking at aquariums, and people will tell you over and over that it really DOES involve EXTENSIVE walking. I know that if you want to do this on your own, you can take a cab and just buy a tour (I think $25/pp, but not sure) through the Dig area at Atlantis, but I don't know if it's cost prohibitive or not.

Here are some posts:

Hey Branv -- Thanks for the links! I finally got to read them and the info was just great!! I didn't even think to do a search on these boards... duh! I can be a bit of an airhead sometimes!

Our docs should be arriving next Mon. or Tues. I will finally relax once they have arrived. I've had really bad time with the TA from AAA. I actually had a long talk with his manager. If you are not good with details and follow through planning of any kind is the wrong career for you. It's really been a frustrating experience. But DCL have given me some of that Disney magic when I call by giving me info. that should just be between them and the TA. I really have had it with the "middle man".
It gets even worse....the docs have to be shipped to a "full fillment center", then in another day or two, or three they will finally get shipped out. Talk about a few extra steps.
I just want my doc!!!! (Ok, I'm done venting)

Naaaaaah, you're not an airhead! You're just not a completely obsessive research nerd like I am! Trust me, that's a goooood thing. :rotfl:

:jumping1: Just a wee bit longer y'all! How lucky are we - we have all this great holiday time right before our trip, lots of good things to ramp up our excitement level and keep it humming just before we go. It's like an endless holiday :)

We're going to Dallas for 2 nights to see my family and friends for Christmas, and then we we are completely hunkering down for New Years. Figure we'll be spending enough money in just a few days, so we'll play it safe ;) Going to get some fantastic munchies and pop the cork on some champagne. Of course, we'll have to wait until later on the champagne or I will, once again, be asleep before midnight :teeth:

Vicki - seriously, after all this time I can tell you are the Queen Planner Extraordinaire so I'm sure that guys got nuthin' on you girl! You should wander over to his office, shove him off his chair and get some real work done at that AAA for once ;) Sometimes I wonder if people don't choose careers by picking them out of a hat. Sheesh  Well I hope the rest of the the time you have to deal with them goes smoothly. Fingers crossed.

:rotfl: OMG you'd so be my hero if you did that Vicki!
Maybe he got into it thinking he'd get free trips :confused3

Well, I started packing clothes today. I am sooo ready for a vacation. Got a call from our builder - take a wild guess when they think we'll be ready to close? I told them that we were out of town from Jan 3 to the 12 and out of the country part of that time. They wanted to know if I would be accessible by phone. I said only if they wanted to pay the shore to ship phone charges. I won't be calling them! There was a pause and then she said, "I will talk to so-and-so, but we'll plan on you closing at the end of January." I told her that was good thinking.

Now just as long as it doesn't interfere with my girls cruise at the beginning of Feb.

Still haven't wrapped a single present for my kids...the girls are getting a little nervous about their presents. I have until Sunday morning, right?!?!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

 My mom called today to say that their cruise documents have arrived. :cheer2:

So far none here yet. :earboy2:

Thanks for the support you guys! I would love to go into AAA and have a face to face talk with him but he has left for surgery and will not be back in the office early Jan. (He's having some sort of cosmetic surgery so I've been told). Anyway his manager is now all over this and will certainly discuss this problem once he returns. She is tracking the docs and will keep me updated.

More bad news: We got a phone call early this morning from my Mom. Her husband passed away during the night. He has been fighting cancer for a number of years actually and at least he does not have to suffer any longer. He was not doing really well and was looking worse and worse but we thought he would be still with us through Christmas. Mom is a extremely strong woman but DH and I will continue to help her through this. I'm just so glad it did not happen while we were out of town. I also glad the cruise is still a couple weeks out. But by the time it rolls around I really will need a break. But the good news I've put a dent in the packing YEAH!!!!
