January 2014 discount watch!!

I just called about 10 mins ago to ask a question about my reservation and the CM said I had a discount available. She went ahead and applied my room only discount of 25% for Pop! :cheer2:

Must have been a PIN! I just called to see if they opened the GP offer early (you were the second poster to mention it) but not yet...

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but it is much more than $18 per night for the upgrade. To upgrade you take the difference between the two ADULT plan prices. Off the top of my head it's around $45 or so and on top of that you pay the child price for whatever dining plan you get with your resort tier.

ETA: pointed out already.

While that was pointed out, I think he's being misunderstood. Right now, with no discounts, he's at $55/night for the DDP. He can get SPD for $19/night for DDP, right? then, pay an additional $54/night to upgrade to DxDP. Making it $19+$54=$73. Since he's already figuring $55/night, that's only $18 more than what he has now ($73-$55=$18). He could choose to save and pay only $19/night and keep the DDP, but instead he'll upgrade to DxDP and his incremental increase is $18/night.

I'm actually paying $58 a night for the dining plan, but yes... This is the scenario I'm hoping for.

I'd like the option to sample as many table service locations as possible. I'm travelling alone for the half marathon, and am basically treating this as a scouting mission for a mass family trip in a couple years.

He actually can't get the DDP for $19 per night if he's staying at Pop. At a value resort, you're only entitled to get the QS dining plan in the SPD promo, which means he will get that for about $15.75 per night (I think) and then have to pay the price difference of adult QS and adult Deluxe. The price difference of QS versus Deluxe is about $65 per day. So, he's looking at about $15.75 + $65 per day, so it will come out to be around $20 to $25 more per day than his current situation with no discounts.

Derp. Oh well. I'll see what my travel agent can come up with. Either way, I'm already saving because of a $1200 travel credit, so I can't complain too much about an extra $25 a day.

I'll find out what kind of deal I can get tomorrow, and update the group for those staying at Pop, or other values.

I just spoke with an agent at Disney. Phone hold times tomorrow am could be up to 5 hours. Not likely online reservations will be up at midnight. Six am tomorrow is what he suggested.

I called and got whatever the opposite of pixie dust is. Asked if there was a pin on my account, no. Asked if there were any offers or deals for our stay in Jan, no. Told her I'd heard something was coming out tomorrow. She said she was unaware of that. Kept talking about looking for deals for Canadians and no deals for Canadians. Bleah.

I've found a great rate for Wyndham Grand at Bonnet Creek. I think am just going to go with that.

Opposite of pixie dust? My husband suggested: Ogre Farts :rotfl2:

As Canadians we can book US deals, but not sure if we can do so online tomorrow? May have to call :faint:

The SPD and room only deals went online at midnight at the Disney World website, for anyone awake and interested.

Try going through the US version of the web page. You should be able to switch to it at the bottom left hand side of the web page. The room only link on the Canadian site didn't work for me either, but the US link did.

Booked with the SPD discount at CSR! Still hoping for a free dining PIN but I won't hold my breath.

I'm in Canada and I couldn't get the RO link to work either.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! :yay:

I used the same link ( https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/winter-room-discount/ ) and just booked a room only offer. I had a regular reservation at All Star Music but there weren't any regular rooms available there or Movies so I went with Sports (nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to try a different one this trip!) and for 5 days my new total is $508 instead of $621 so I was really excited!

Good luck to everyone booking online tonight and calling early in the morning, the savings seem to be worth the website hiccups and what I'm sure will be long phone waits!
