Day 9: A picture of your favorite Disney restaurant

DH & I loved the character interaction at Liberty Tree Tavern, it’s the only meal he’s ever requested I book again – probably the only thing Disney he’s taken an interest in

Last night I finished Ashlin's Cinderella tutu for our first park day/dinner.

As a refresher, we plan to check into POP and then head to the MK for the day. We have reservations at BBB after lunch and then a dinner ADR at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and family.

You can see here that I used 3 different colors to make it. (the darker blue is what was left over from Tyra's). Ashlin's is double the lenght of Tyra's tutu since she is older.

Ran out of blue so I finished off a section in just white - I love the way it turned out since I used white accents throughout this section doesn't really look out of place at all. And if she isn't happy with it then she can just make this the back and only the blue portion will show for photos.

And here's a photo of Tyra's that I made back before Halloween. I've gone back and made it a little fuller but you get the idea

Jess is going to make tutus for Kiersten & Danielle (yes Danielle wants to wear a tutu as well - lol) They are all going to wear white leggings underneath and have white shirts with a sparkle iron on I got from ebay (have to finish the shirts still)

As for the scavenger hunts – I just did an advanced search for scavenger hunt in the Creative DISsign section. For the hotel one it was already created - http://www.4shared.com/dir/18428241/4b39460d/sharing.html#dir=33999974 – Travel Games – Hotel Scavenger Hunts and here is the one that I used for Tom Sawyer Island - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2331283&highlight=scavenger

thanks for the links - I think some of these are fun for adults too!!!:goodvibes

Time for a sad trip update. :sad2:

I just called and removed Tyler from my reservation. I haven’t posted it here but his grades have really slipped this year. I’m not sure if it’s just the age or what but it’s not to be tolerated. He got his first D ever on his report card last marking period. I’ve been following his grades online and he’s not putting forth any more effort than he did earlier in the year. I warned him when he bought home his first report card that at our 45 day mark (tomorrow) he better have all As & Bs or he wouldn’t be going to Disney. Well I don’t know if it doesn’t matter to him or if he didn’t take me serious but there hasn’t been much improvement (some but not a lot). I know he is capable of better. I’ve always been the push over parent but as hard as it’s going to be I’m sticking to my guns this time. If he’s slipping now – taking him out of school for a week is not going to help matters any.

I guess I still have 10 more days to add him back if he can pull off a miracle since the free dinging booking promo ends on the 17th but I really don’t see that happening. Why does doing the right thing as a parent have to be soo hard????:headache:

I'm sorry you had to put your foot down but hopefully it will prove the point. So much better to have to make him miss a Disney trip in 8th grade than repeat a grade for goofing off, or something much worse because he doesn't think there are repercussions.
 to you for doing the difficult but right thing.

Day 6: A picture something you've never ridden/seen in the parks

I would love to do one of the drawing classes at the Studios. I don’t think the kids are old enough to sit through it just yet. I did get a taste of this though at Disney Quest on this last trip.

Devin gave up half way through the class and did his own thing.

such a cute drawing. We did this for the first time in May and thought it was great fun - it will be a new "must do" for us now.

CUTE!!!!

Day 10: A picture of your favorite ride or attraction

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – I know lots of people are fans of TSM but the line leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. (Notice DH’s game face in this photo– lol) Not only is this ride fun and interactive but the whole family can ride and play.

Day 11: A picture of the thing you wish you could change about the parks

The wait times in line for attractions – ughhhhhhh

Day 12: A picture of your favorite Disney food item

Dole Whip Float - mmmmmmmm

That tutu is just lovely!! She is going to feel like a true princess wearing that!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks, between the tutus, BBB appointments and dinner with Cinderella that's going to be one heck of a first day for those girls.

Day 13: A picture of your favorite “home” resort

We’ve only stayed here once in 2008 but I love Fort Wilderness. It’s soo nice to have our own home away from home with us – we love camping and Disney so combining the both – what could be better.

Day 14: A picture of your favorite night time activity (existing or past) on Disney property

The Dance Party during the evening EMH at the Studios. I love the character interaction – you can’t get shots like these anywhere else

Last night we went with some members from our 4-H club to a local light display that you walk through. The kids loved it soo much that we ended up walking through 2 times. Here's the highlights as they relate back to Disney ;)

30 days to go so why not change everything around:confused3

posting all those photos from the dance party made me realize how much I am going to miss not attending it this trip, we don't stay onsite every trip so since we will have the option of attending EMH I'd like to try to make the dance party.

We'll still arrive sometime on the 21st and stay offsite at the Comfort Suites Maingate. May hit of Downtown Disney this evening depending on how tired we are.

Sunday will still be our first park day after we check in at Pop. The kids have BBB reservations after lunch and then we'll dine with Cinderella and family before heading back to the MK for evening EMH (may also make a pit stop to unpack at Pop after dinner but we'll see how that goes).

Monday - changed to a day at the Studios so we can go to the dance party that night. I don't think we'll make rope drop or anywhere near it so praying for January low crowds or pixie dust to score us some FPs for Toy Story Mania and then we'll use the power of child swapping and splitting up the older/younger kids to get the rest of the rides knocked out during the day. I was able to reschedule our lunch at Hollywood & Vine with the Disney Junior Characters for this day so the kids will be thrilled.

Tuesday – still planning to go to Animal Kingdom today with a late character breakfast at Tusker House. Since the park closes at 5 I booked us a dinner reservation at T-Rex

Wednesday – EPCOT with dinner at Coral Reef

Still working out the details on Thursday & Friday but will post those updates soon.

Day 15: A picture of what you do when it rains in the park

I can not believe it but we haven’t encountered but only 1 significant rain on our Disney trips – it’s a miracle I know. I think we had the occasional afternoon shower on our first trip but we’d just catch a show or throw on a poncho to keep on rolling. So to answer the question, the one time we did have a major rain on our August 2008 trip - it was after fantasmic at evening EMH at DHS so we wandered around in the rain and ended up in the Dance Party – what a pleasant surprise that we were not aware was even there.

ah my beloved Dance Party:lmao:

Your kids are so cute! Love those happy faces in your flashbacks.

Where is the Disney Dance Party - is that in the building at DHS where they used to have Bear in the Big Blue House show? I think they do another show there now but it was Bear when we went to it (I loved Bear in the BBH) -- is it kids only? it looks like fun!:goodvibes

So if you say "change everything" are you staying on property now? did you post that and I somehow missed it? ....ooh yep, POP! fun!:woohoo:

Thanks. And yes, the dance party is during the evning extra magic hours at the Studios in the same building where they do the Disney Junior show (where the Bear in the Big Blue House used to be yes). I'm very excited to stay at Pop again and to be on the dining plan for the first time (since it's free dining we paid a little to upgrade so we could do some character meals) I'm sooo excited that it's less than a month away. I think more extied that Christmas :rotfl:

Day 16: A picture of your favorite place to shop

I think it’s a tie between the Christmas Shop at DTD and the World of Disney store

I totally get that! :lmao::rotfl2::thumbsup2

How can you pick only one place? Can you pick a favorite park to shop in?:rotfl2:

Day 17: A picture of your favorite Disney character

I just love Belle

And as you can see from her dress - so does Tyra

Day 18: A picture of your favorite guilty Disney pleasure

I think my answer to this would be just food in general. I mean we eat out a couple times a week at home but it seems like we totally stuff ourselves every meal when at Disney.

just looking back the last 2 photos I posted are from the princess breakfast in Norway, the same breakfast we just decided last week to cancel in exchange for a dinner at T-rex. Do you think I'm subliminally sending myself a message???:confused3

moving on

Day 19: A picture of something in the park that deserves more attention

Pin Trading – I know it’s not for everyone but my kids love it, well the boys do, I think Tyra will grow into it. And I buy pins from ebay for cheap and then the kids will pick out what they want to keep from that and trade the rest to get souvenirs that don’t cost me an arm and a leg.

(this poor CM – they had her surrounded)
