January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Very nice, laid back plans. I thought I was the only one working on day-by-day plans this far out! :rotfl:

As far as your character breakfast, Ohana was the best character meal we've ever done but we are Stitch fans and he was the highlight. He's so very Stitch-like in person, you know? Cape May would be a nice choice since you're planning on World Showcase for the afternoon. You'd have to transfer at DTD to get there, but after breakfast you'd just have a short, pretty walk to the back gate at Epcot.

Thanks for your feedback! :thumbsup2 I too would be interested in trying 'Ohana, it sounds great! We'll be telling the kids in a few weeks so they will ultimately help with the decision. We aren't telling them right away as we want them to get through the first few weeks of school without any distractions! :)

LOL so glad i'm not the only one working on plans heres mine:
Date Breakfast Lunch Dinner
10-Arrival & Epcot - Kona Café Around the World Showcase or Tutto Italia
11-Magic Kingdom Opening ceremony CS-Park Crystal Palace character meal Chef Mickey’s character buffet (Tyler’s birthday dinner with cake)
12-Hollywood Studios Hollywood & Vine Character breakfast CS O’hana
13-Animal Kingdom Tusker house character breakfast CS Sanaa or Jiko
14-Epcot CS Park–Opening ceremony at park CS-Around the world showcase Chefs De France or Tutto Italia
15-Magic kingdom CS- Resort & Pirate excursion cruise 9:30-11:30 * 31.95* (Tyler) Cinderella’s Royal Table (2 credits) Mommy’s spa day
Citrico’s & back to Magic Kingdom for night
16-Hollywood Studios CS-Resort-Opening ceremony at park Sci-Fi Dine In Brown Derby (2 credits)(Fantasmic Package)
17-Downtown Disney T-rex (Out of pocket) & Wolfgang Puck express and Goofy’s Candy Company
18--Departure day Ohana character breakfast

Its a table but when I paste it here the lines go away so it looks kinda funky

Alright ladies...let's lay off the day to day detailed planning for a while, you're throwing me into a panic! :scared1: I haven't had much time to DIS lately, let alone get planning like that done. :headache:

Here goes...updating the list!

Jan 30

Dinner at California Grill, 6:30ish

Jan 31
Departure day
Lunch at Beaches & Cream
Late afternoon flight home

Obviously some of the dates will change if the EMH schedule is different than what I projected, because we do want to take advantage of evening EMH at MK & Epcot. We also want to avoid morning EMH because we're not early enough risers to take advantage, and we're avoiding Fantasmic days this trip because we don't want to see it badly enough to deal with the crowds now that it is showing so infrequently. But I think I've got a good start considering that park hours aren't even out yet. Of course, any feedback is appreciated!

Oooh Oooh me too me too :cool1: I wanna share my plans...

Well I am only there for 2 days :sad2: but I am still going to plan as much as I can :)

Jan 8th arrive a midnight :scared1: So I am doing nothing but sleeping.

Jan 9th 7:15ish breakfast at Chef Mickey's
MK for EMH Pick up marathon package
Back to MK
Dinner at Tony's at 5:30ish

Jan 10th
Run the WDW Marathon
If we are able to walk EP
Dinner at 'Ohana's at 6:00ish
Then DTD until close

We leave really early the next morning so that's it :sad1:

Anybody have any suggestions? Has anybody picked up a marathon package before? Do you have a good time to go?

Seeing everyone's plans gets me excited for January! I think our biggest trick will be where to fit in a Discovery Cove day...

I'm having a hard time making my day to day plans. I wish Disney would release the times for parades and park hours- that sure would help!

I'm gonna have to change back to park hopper if they dont release the park info soon because I want stuff a certain way and if I don't get my way i'll be a Disneyzilla :rotfl2: but i'm gonna try to relax! We were gonna do mini golf on our Downtown day but I can't see that working out very well with my youngest son so maybe we'll do Disneyquest or just a relaxing day at the resort until the mid afternoon.. what other fireworks shows are there besides Fantasmic and Spectro and where are they??

I think i've gone into planning overload now :rotfl:

You could always take my approach to that - we're taking a separate, non-Disney trip next fall (assuming the Harry Potter attractions are open by then) to do Discovery Cove, Sea World, Universal and Islands of Adventure, and if the timing works out, Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. I couldn't figure out how to fit any of it into a Disney trip, so I decided it all deserved a whole 'nother trip!

I am, for now, going by THIS YEAR'S hours etc. I rely more on the UG's recommended days to plan out my park days. Sure, I realize that it could change once park hours do come out, but not by much I don't think. The winter park hours during the non-holiday, non special event times are fairly predictable actually! As follows -

MK 9am-8pm (with Wishes @ 8pm)
EPCOT - FW 9am-7pm, WS 11am-9pm (with Illuminations @ 9pm)
DHS - 9am-7pm (Fantasmic on occasional nights @ 7pm)
AK - 9am-5pm (no evening entertainment)

I schedule our meals for our "Normal" meal times and plan our days around that!

That's what I do as well. You can find sites that have 2009 park schedules up still so I'm just going from January 2009 and although I know it may not be exact they're usually pretty similar. I've done this on my last three Disney vaca's and it's worked out well.

Good idea :thumbsup2 The only thing I really need to know is which night is Fantasmic since it's probably limited again. I'll just go by last year's park hours until then!

Sign us up! We will be at POP 12/31-1/9 celebrating our 25th Anniversary and our ds's 17th B'Day:woohoo: If 4/3 comes out again I will be crazed that I booked our return for the 9th instead of the 10th oh well who cares it's been 4 years since we have all visited WDW together!

For those anxious for hours, this is the official Disney travel agent hours listing. You'll see that right now it has 2009's hours, but when 2010 hours become available, Disney will upload it to the same web address. So if you bookmark the page and start checking back/refreshing the page around the end of Sept/beginning of Oct, at some point it will update. And in the mean time, it is an easy to read listing of this year's hours to give us all a starting point!

Hello all -
I am getting so excited reading everyone's speculation about the discounts for January that I just got off the phone with reservations. I have updated our reservations to 2 weeks, so that when the discounts come out we can pick exactly when we want to stay (is that a nasty thing to do?). Also, this can enable us to search for better airfare.
Long story short, they confirmed for the second time that the Parks schedule is to be updated by October 10th, extended hours, parades, shows, etc. This is good for mid january trips (bad for early jan) planning purposes since we can now only make dining reservations 90 days out (at least i think it's good :confused3).

Any suggestions for clear consise info for dining? I am finding "Unofficial" a little overwhealming and have not yet started my "passporters". Any suggestions are gratefully taken. Thank you!! :hippie:

My husband and I made plans for Caribbean Beach Resort (this is the first time we have stayed here) for January 23rd thru Feb 1st!! No kids just us:thumbsup2

That's cool! Somewhere on the DIS there are last year's hours too. I'm trying to be patient for December hours. I just hope they're up before the 7th when I make my ADRs.

I think CBR would be a great place with no kids :) We stayed there in Jan and we lved walking the pathway to the food court and at night we sat out in the center court at the patio tables and just relaxed. It was a very laid back hotel...I have wanted my DH and I to go to WDW alone forever and he never takes me up on the offer :confused3 You are so lucky!!

Wondering if anyone ever had their 9 year old, age 9 for more than one year...if you konw what i mean. We have a child, literally on the cusp of being 10 and the agent today told me to just call up and have the age changed on another call...anyone ever tried to do this??

We are considering a dining plan and this "age difference" could be $50 per day, especially since he is a pizza and hamburger eater anyway.

Thoughts? Thankyou!!

We're at AKV from January 3 to 8! We actually begin our trip off property on December 26. Can't wait. :goodvibes
