January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Good Morning everyone! :goodvibes

:welcome: to all the new Snowbirds!

I updated the list on page 64 with everyone's changes up to this post. I also added the park hours in case some were having trouble opening the link.

Last year I made a LGMH (lime green mickey head) with my screenname on it and hung it on my backpack. DH just rolled his eyes. I was so excited that I might run into another DISser...never happened though . I'm going to make one again for this trip too- never know I might get lucky this time around!
As the time gets closer we can plan some Snowbird meets with those that are going the same weeks. I think last year we also posted pics of our bags with our LGMH's attached ;)

We were there the same time as you at CBR and I remember thinking, we're bound to run into you - never did! :( I did the same thing. I wrote my screen name on an LGMH and laminated it, punched a hole and hung it on my bag. I was lucky enough to bump into two snowbirds (Meghan and Shawna) each twice!!

Hello Snowbirds! :goodvibes It's October already, January will be here before you know it!

Congrats on the 4/3 deal and the park hours being released!! :cool1:

I updated everything on the front page of the thread!

Thanks Shelley for stopping by and updating :cutie:

You're leaving soon - saw the suitcases out ! :wizard:

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

So I was up to 1 am looking over park hours designing my days, most days I like and are set in stone (maybe)and am set on (maybe) - other days are completely open as to what I want to do :scared1: I am even having a hard time picking restaurants ??? what if I am not near it that day at that time? :confused3

Funny thing is my days I do have in stone and like are busy busy busy! :stitch2:( we need a commando smilie)

As well I was wondering if anyone knows where to find listings for spa treatments, my booking included a voucher and I was thinking it would be a nice thing for dd and I?

I would love to know more about this voucher too, like where is it good for, how much is it worth? It would be a nice thing to use, but if it is a $10 voucher on a $150 spa treatment I will have to pass. I noticed in our list of inclusions.

Yeah for all you getting your deals still and PARK HOURS!!!! Let the planning commence!!!! Sheree~ do you kinda wish we were doing Jan? I do!! Ha!!!

When I researched the locations I found GF and SSR as well as select deluxe resorts that offer massage etc (like AKL). But there were no prices- so not sure what it is and never had it offered with a package before.:confused3

I checked my ressie and it says "Nikki Bryan Spa offer" SO I googled "Nikki Bryan" and found out that at WDW there are Nikki Bryan Spas @ GF and SSR! No sure what the "offer" is - maybe I will call to ask tomorow! :goodvibes

I looked into getting a treament done after I "run" the marathon but when I saw the prices :scared1: I changed my mind :)

Here is the link for GF prices: http://relaxedyet.com/gf_treatments.asp

Hey great airfare. Which airline was that on? I used to find it at that price but it was 149 from KC this time on SWA. Now I just wish I could find that price from KC to Burlington VT!!!

Southwest web special 59.00 each way

Any one else hoping they extend the Wishes Dessert Party into January? I'm hoping it will be going on during our trip!

Yes definitely hoping for Wishes dessert party.. not that i'll need anymore desserts with the DxDDP :lmao: they'll have to roll me outta the World by the time we're done!!!

:scared1: Touringplans changed the crowd calendar! :scared1:

I am not completely surprised though! I knew it would probably happen once park hours were officially released! I was just hoping that it wouldn't change my plans too much! Oh Well! Back to the drawing board! :upsidedow

The crowd predicitons aren't any worse, just mixed up best days! The ONE day I had set aside for DHS is now an avoid day! It is probably because that day is a Fantasmic Day! We are not sure if we want to see Fantasmic or not! DD6 is still really skittish around loud noises. Hoping she will do better with the fire works this time around!

The other reason i am not so keen on Fantasmic is that I really don't want to wait for it for 1- 2 hrs! I am not that patient! Also not sure if we want to try for a Dinner package for it or not! Anybody have any thoughts or ideas? Is Fantasmic THAT great that we should make it a must do? :confused3 There really isn't that much left at DHS that we really wanted to do. TSM, ToT (for DH) RnRc (me & DD8) Muppets, Star Tours and the Indy show were ALL our must dos for this trip!

Any body have any ideas? :)

You can officially put us for POP CENTURY !!!

Thank you

Buzz
Will Do :thumbsup2
Oh I'm so excited I about peed my pants! Now I just have to figure out exactly which parks to do on which days.

We are going to be at OKW Jan. 6-12. Oh I'm SO excited! This somehow makes it seem more real!
:welcome: Oh my you really are excited!!!
We went last year on the 4/3 deal the week after MLK weekend and I'm super excited to say we just booked the 5/2 deal for Pop Century the week BEFORE MLK weekend. Should be interesting comparing the crowd levels.

We were seriously tempted to upgrade to Moderate for the $200 difference and may still do it. I figured that it would be easier to upgrade later than downgrade later, because I'm guessing the Values will fill up before the Mods do!!

So stinkin' excited!!! I've never booked this close to leaving before, which is kinda sad. LOL I'm always planning 6-8 months if not a year in advance. So the short countdown, with the holidays to keep us busy, is gonna ROCK!!!

Disney Wishes!! pixiedust:
:welcome: I love the long planning too but you're right. Sometimes you get to the point that you just can't plan anymore and just need the trip to be here already!

I was so disappointed- more so because I wanted to prove to DH that other DISser's DO exist and that I didn't just make up the LGMH thing:lmao:.

I was hoping but I think that even if it is extended, it's beyond our budget this time...we'll see. :wizard:

Southwest web special 59.00 each way

OK. That was the same thing I got, but one of our legs was 69.00 just because of the day we had to go. Not bad though! I LOVE SWA! Those direct flights from KC are wonderful.

How do we get these Southwest deals?? I would love to book for 59 or 69 one way!
Thanks!

It kind of messed up my plans too. BUT, if you want to see Fantasmic you will HAVE to go on a "avoid" day to HS. Since I really love Fantasmic, we will just have to bite the bullet and go anyway. Basically, to follow touring plans you have to avoid any extra hour day, any day with fantasmic, any day with Spectromagic...some times I just don't want to miss those things! But it still helps to keep that in mind. Personally, I think Fantasmic is well worth a wait. Maybe not a 2 hour wait, but an hour wait is no problem for me. At that time of the day I am ready to rest for a while anyway. It is a bit loud and scary for some kids. It really depends on the child and their age. If they are not scared easily I would say don't miss it. Some things scared my 4 year old grandson a couple of years ago (dark rides) but he loved Fantasmic. I think it is a wonderful show though.
