Trixie, I love your little tiger print Mickey ears!!!! :cool1:

My first day sounds alot like yours, Mama Snow. :goodvibes

We will get in around 10:30 and head straight to DTD for lunch. Then head to WL to check in around 4:00 pm. I'm planning on upgrading to Club Level that night after codes come out and so we will just hang around and enjoy the 'club' until it's time to leave for our 7:30 ADR at 1900 Park Fare and back to WL to watch the Electric Water Pageant from our balcony.

Welcome to the Snowbirds! :wizard:

FYI-
Just peeked over at the thread for Jan 2009 Code watch and someone wrote that they called and a nice man told her that these boards usually know about codes before they do!! They only get 24 hrs notice, but expect something in the next two weeks.
So we get to wait and see and obsess every day for a while!!

Wow, were on the III'd board for Jan 09. I had issues with logging in and then got busy with the kids and season.
What did I miss on here?

Weren't ADR's for restaurants supposed to available online now or is that NOV?

I can't believe we have just over 2 1/2 months to go. :woohoo: We are all booked except for our rental car. My son and I just bought the new Birnbaum's Disney for kids book for him and his sister and I got a book for us too. I'm slowly making progress.

Anyone recommend any good off site restaurants for adults? One night we are leaving all the kids with the older kids and 6 adults are heading out for dinner. Last time we did Tchoup Chop at Universal....EXCELLENT!

Not sure where we'd want to go....not seafood cause some won't eat it.

Ok, time to start reading the III'd board...I'm not looking for the 2nd.

I plan on staying warm in Jan. FL has got to be warmer than Ohio or Michigan.
I'll introduce myself since I feel ike newbbie on block.
My name is Juli (julie) and I'm a nurse not a firefighter LOL.
I love Disney and Eeyore, I'm married to a disney and Grumpy loving Husband who deals with me "need" to have dinner with the donkey each trip.
I've never been in Jan. Been in Nov., Dec, Feb, May, Jun, Sept, And Oct.

So is there anything else anybody wants to know.

I warned you people yesterday!! :)
But good news is on the horizon. It's only going to be 40 here today, but they are forecasting 60 for Wednesday and low 50s for Halloween. See, I could tell you what your weather will be the day or two before! You don't need a weatherman!

Yep, you sure did! Maybe you could just warn us when things are going to be exceptionally GOOD, that way we have something to look forward to! :)

Hi guys!! I am heading to dance class and then off to my parents for dinner and to watch the game. My hubby is working and I don't want to watch alone. Have a good night

GO PHILLIES

Who said the snowbirds are slow on the weekends!
My goodness I stay away for the weekend and expect us to have the last few [/CENTER]

Oh, just G, Belle and I. We are going to make a special dinner, put Belle in her new Tink Jammies and curl up in the bed together. It's more of a family night than a party. :)

The only park that DH is excited about is AK! So we can't skip it. We are taking a Sunrise Safari there Sun am, and my plan was just to stay there until we see whatever we want. DH wants to also go on Thu but I think I'll over rule him. (Or else we go on Thu, and leave after the safari Sun am).

Lucky you... I pretty much have a test or paper/project due every week between now and finals.... I'm so happy I have Disney to look forward to...

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

This has been me all morning :surfweb: since I haven't been around since Friday! Yes, I read all through the end of Part II (from page 238 :scared: ) and got all caught up on Part III. Wow we are chatty! :chat:

:welcome: , new Snowbirds! The more the merrier! :jumping1:

:grouphug: all around to those who especially need them. The Snowbirds are here for you.

Sarah--I guess you're at your Dr. appt. now. Hope you're getting good news! Hey, you have the same birthday as my DD--she'll be turning 1!

Kimberly--I'm so glad to hear your kitty came home! :woohoo:

Carrie--My name is Kathy...thanks for asking! It just occurred to me the other day that no one here knew that. I also like addressing people by their name if I know it.

Thanks to everyone for their input on renting DVC points. I think that IF I could get a 1-BR at OKW it would be a great deal...but only during the week, since weekends cost a lot more points. But then we'd have to move to SOG (or possibly an OKW studio?) for a few nights. I'd be surprised if OKW would be available anyway...basically I'm thinking that it's not worth the trouble to work it out for this trip. But I'll definitely keep it in mind for future trips as the kids get bigger!

Christmas shopping...yikes! :scared1: Am I the only one who isn't done yet? (besides the day-after-Thanksgiving shoppingfest?) OK, am I the only who who hasn't STARTED yet? Guess I need to get on the ball! :santa:

Our first day...we'll be arriving early afternoon. Plan is to check in at SOG and head over to MK. We'll visit some attractions, have counter service dinner (not sure where--DH loves clam chowder, so maybe Columbia Harbor House), and catch Spectromagic and Wishes! pixiedust: I'm concerned about one thing, and maybe you have some advice. We usually do rope drop and hit the big rides early. I'm afraid that arriving mid-afternoon on MLK day it will be busy, but the guys (including DH) will still want to hit the e-tickets. How can I convince them to save those for later in the week when we'll be there early?

Happy Disney Day, everyone! :wizard:

I haven't even started yet... though I did do a Secret Santa Generator online for my brothers and sisters and I... so we all know who we have... there's no way I could buy presents for all of them this year... I'm way too broke...

Useless Fact time YAY!!

Do you guys realize that in 3 days time we have filled up 10% of this post already that means if we keep up this rate of talking we will need a new post in 27 days...that is mindblowing!!! KEEP IT UP Snowbirds!! I think we can beat this useless attempt at math by myself LOL!!!

NOOOOO!!!!... I'm having a hard enough keeping up as it is... and I was really hoping to hit top ten on this one :confused3

My family also did a Secret Santa drawing this year, finally us "kids" (I'm married, my cousin has a kid, and her twin is out on her own with a job) are allowed to draw names, thank goodness...Christmas was expensive buying for everyone last year.

My husband and I are also doing a theme Christmas with some rules. Every gift must follow the theme chosen by the person. Anyone want to take any guesses what my theme of choice was LOL????????????

Not sure the exact model of my mixer...got it as a Christmas present. It is white and the flip up kind (not the one that lifts the bowl up).

I also love Wicked saw it a couple of years ago. We're going in January to see Harispray.

I'm bummed there's no code today! :sad2: I was hoping for something! Oh, well...there's always tomorrow!

This thread is truly moving way to fast! You guys are quite chatty, huh?:rotfl2:

I think I'll be signing off now! I've got Arabic homework and I need to get some sleep so I can get up at 5:30 to do the elliptical trainer before getting the kids ready for the day. Mornings. Blech.:rotfl2:

Nighty Night, my Disney Peeps! Catch you all on the flipside!:thumbsup2

Yep, you sure did! Maybe you could just warn us when things are going to be exceptionally GOOD, that way we have something to look forward to! :)

I would be HAPPY to!! Like I mentioned, Wednesday here is expected to hit 60, so you should have a nice "warm" Halloween!

If I only had 4 days I would consider skipping Epcot. Probably not though. I would at least do a morning there and just go to Future World (Test Track and Soarin are too good to miss! :goodvibes ). My kids are not all that into World Showcase. If I were to skip a park entirely it would be AK.

I agree-we have skipped the AK before and never missed it!

Oh, just G, Belle and I. We are going to make a special dinner, put Belle in her new Tink Jammies and curl up in the bed together. It's more of a family night than a party. :)

AAAWWW That so sweet!! I too can't wait for it to hit the store!!!
Sheree.... I do the big baking thing... we do up trays to give to neighbors and friends... they love my fudge....

I do a basket as well. cookies, fudge, small candies it's something I have done with my kids for a few years now-we look forward to bringing out tins to people in the community who have really been good to us( my kids) through out the year. Like our little dog groomer, the librarian, people like that! It's really a blessing!

The cold weather is wonderful! Since we are not halloween people, I have started putting out a few christmas touches around the apartment today....dare I get out the tree and begin to decorate it? I would do anything to get my Jan trip here faster!

I told my hubby last night I was ready to put up the tree!!!

Well, I'm back from the surgeon and I've stopped crying. Go figure. The positive is that she thinks the minor surgery is okay.

THe downside is that half of what needs to be removed is buried in the muscle and she can't take it out via minor surgery. She's hoping that my problems will go away with the half she can take out and maybe the other half will fall out on its own. If it doesn't, then, back to her and the more major surgery.

I'm frustrated and beside myself here because she wasn't into listening AT ALL. She doesn't want to impact my ability to give birth unless she "has to" and she's never asked about my plans. I've been living a personal hell since July with what's been going on. I have to adjust my plans, make sure I have extra clothes just to leave the house. 3 advil every 4 hours doesn't kill the pain. I'm anemic and all taht goes with it. I don't WANT to "wait and see" - if removing it all means a major surgery, DO THE MAJOR SURGERY. My workplace gives us six MONTHS of long term sick time for surgery at full pay. I can afford it. I can't afford to be sick 2-3 weeks a month and energy-less the other week or so.

I think I'm going to call my regular doctor and see what she says. The surgeon also doesn't "see a need" for a specific thing that the doctor asked her to do, too.

And I don't want to have to wait any longer to get this taken care of. I'm at the end of my rope, physically and emotionally.

DH is home from jury duty, but he was still wrong. He's on call EVERY night through November 7th. Even though we leave town 11/6. If he has to report on the 7th, they'll "try" to make accomodations for him... and vacation is enough to get him excused from some trials. But he thinks it's likely he'll have to go back on Monday next week.

I need to have a good cry, I think.

:grouphug: we are all thinking and praying for you!!

Sarah~ I am so sorry for you to be going through this! Our prayers are with you! And there's a little hug from me!!! I think talking to your Dr. is going to give you some clarity.

Kitchen Aid Mixers~ I go back and forth every year on wanting one of these!!! I usually do my big baking at Christmas--tons of cookies!! So, what else beside desserts do you use it for? Also, what's a good one to look into?

Oh yeah, we bought the full size bars at Target a while ago when they had a 30 pack for $10. Yup, the neighbor kids LOVE us! :)

I would go broke doing that.... we get about 200 kids.... all the folks in the surrounding countryside bring their kids into our neighborhood

Just an FYI for any of you Pixar and Cars fans, Toon Disney is showing a new short tonight at 6:56pm. Matter's Tall Tales episode "Rescue Squad Matter" is a new short to help us with our Cars fix until the new movie comes out in 2011. There are two additional shorts being shown Tuesday at 6:57pm, as well as 6:57pm on Wednesday titled "Matter the Greater" and "El Materdor". These should be fun!:)
