My family also did a Secret Santa drawing this year, finally us "kids" (I'm married, my cousin has a kid, and her twin is out on her own with a job) are allowed to draw names, thank goodness...Christmas was expensive buying for everyone last year.

My husband and I are also doing a theme Christmas with some rules. Every gift must follow the theme chosen by the person. Anyone want to take any guesses what my theme of choice was LOL????????????

We are doing Secret Santa this year, too. The parents (our parents) are drawing double (once for an adult name and once for a great grand-baby name). This way my generation only has to buy one gift per person. We used to buy for our Secret Santa and then a gift for each child under 12. It's going to save us about $100. I think it's a nice gesture.

Hope that makes sense.:confused3

Me? How'd THAT happen? My whining? Maybe I should stop!! :rotfl:

:grouphug: we are all thinking and praying for you!!

Sarah~ I am so sorry for you to be going through this! Our prayers are with you! And there's a little hug from me!!! I think talking to your Dr. is going to give you some clarity.

Sara
Giving you a big hug!!

Thanks again!!! :grouphug: The opinion here at work seems to be that I should get another, so we'll see what my doc says when she calls me back. If she can't shed light on it, I might go that way!!

Just curious~ How many of ya'll have been in a book club? I am considering doing one in our area and just wondered how it would go over. Is there a certain set-up that is generally followed? If you need to PM me that's fine! I just wanted to get a feel for how successful they are. If they are not really received well, I'll just keep driving Mike crazy telling him every tiny detail of every book I read!!!! I'll say it again-we NEED a book smilie!!

I only wish Wendy!! Actually my theme is Disney LOL!!!!

I was showing DS your post about the pumpkins.... he was impressed... he is going to talk to his chemistry teacher tomorrow to see if they can explode some pumpkins....... I know they just had some big celebration in class.... something about Mole Day... he made a brownie shaped like a mole, and a t shirt.... I guess they get extra credit....

YES I have converts!!! I will be spreading the exploding pumpkins around the country. Acutally if he wants to tell his teacher it came from Steve Spangler's site with some great directions and an even better video LOL!!

This morning I was telling you all about the New York State Field Band Competition..... its huge.... bands from all over NY state, Conn, Pennsy., and Ohio come to compete..... anyway the Syracuse newspaper had a photographer there... and they took a photo of DS (mind you he doesn't look the 5 ft 11 inches he is).... it is kind of neat though....

Well... that means more people can be in the Top Ten, so I'm all for it...

I'm actually more curious as to what HIS theme is

I agree-we have skipped the AK before and never missed it!

I told my hubby last night I was ready to put up the tree!!!

I love the AK, but I've never been on a trip where I've had to choose a park to skip though. Of course we can finish it in the morning and hit another park in the afternoon, so we can technically do two parks on AK days...

Last year we didn't do it, because I was out of the country, and wanted to buy everybody gifts. Also, my sister has spent the last two Christmases in Georgia, so it's really a treat for us to get her and my baby nephew here for his first Christmas. Usually I really look forward to buying gifts for everybody, but this year I am so broke that I will be nice to focus on one person, and I'll probably get something or multiple somethings for my baby nephews... Babies are just so much fun to buy for, and since he's the only one at this point he gets to be spoiled.

Maggied- He is precious! He reminds me of Shai LeBouf from Transformers. That's really cool that they got a picture of him.:cool1:

Here's a picture of my nephew...

He'll be three months old some time this week (I get really confused about the day he was born, because we were in the hospital for almost 24 hours before he made his appearance)

He'll be 5 months for Christmas, and 10 months when we go on our family trip in June.

How cute! :cloud9:

OK this thread is going waaaaay to fast! It seems like the closer we get, the more excited and talkative we're gonna get! This is turning from a chat board to a chat room!

Sara, I hope that you find some emotional and physical peace really soon! I'll be sending some more snowbirds throughts and prayers your way!

Did anyone else forget how cold the 50's really are? I know its 89 days away, but being the fashionista I am I can't help but wonder "What the H*LL am I gonna pack????" Warm in the daytime, cold at night? Urgh.
I've been hearing some other snowbirds complain about it, but the four letter winter word has been brought up here too....snow. Granted it's only a rain snow mix, but we usually don't even see snow like temps untill Thanksgiving!
Gross.

Jen.... Daniel just sent me a text message that he shot at a 4 point buck.... not sure if he hit it or not... this would be his first buck with a bow.... I probably won't know until dark... when they emerge from the woods:rotfl: I know that you so totally get what I am going thru.......... I miss having my girly DD at home who was more interested in clothes and going to the mall.... now its ESPN and hunting... :lmao:

I'm really excited that I get to go on his first trip to Disney with him... of course that could change though, because his other grandparents are the ones with the house in Orlando...

Must be dinner time as the chatter has died down.
Oh well, off to class and rehearsal. If I don't make it on have a wonderful night ladies!
