Anyways, just thinking why all the rest of the snowbirds picked Jan??

Why did we pick January? Well, we knew we wanted to go during Value season, so that was the first limiting factor, second it had to be when there were lower crowds. I tried to convince DH to go in December but He is very involved in our Chech's Christmas production so that was out of the question. Next we looked at January. I thought the possibility of a P&PP was a cool idea so we booked our dates! Now it looks like there probably won't be any P&PP's in January, OH WELL!

Low crowds and not sweating all day = happy Trixie! :)

Amen to that sister! Right On the money! No crowds and no sweating! :thumbsup2

To those of you suffering issues with airlines..I'm so sorry:sad2: I was considering using my airline miles in the end my fear of flying (I literally have an anxiety attack). Now I'm just going to drive down with all my supplies. My biggest worry is getting all my stuff from the car to my room at midnight YUCK!!!

Oh Jen, poor You! That's not fun! :sad1: Do you EVER fly? Or just avoid it altogether?

Good morning all of you lovely snowbirds. I just got back from the farmers market near my house in Columbus. The Amish have a meat market that has amazing fresh meat. I got a yummy stuffed flank steak that we will have for dinner. It is stuffed with Spinach, Sun Dried tomatoes and cheese and my kids love it (so do my hubby and I:thumbsup2 )

Oh, that sounds so yummy! :)

Did he know that you're planning on coming in January? Maybe as it is the inaugural month of the "Celebrations" theme, they're letting all of us who are already booked have our stays entirely free!:woohoo:

That would be amazing! Not likely, but TOTALLY AMAZING! :yay:

Sorry everyone! I'm slow in posting. This morning has been WILD at work. DH went to the ER last night and we found out that he has a staph infection in his armpit. Seriously??? I feel like I'm hanging on by a thread these days.

Hang in there, Soleil! I will keep praying for you and G and little Belle! You have had a rough go of it the past little while haven't you? Poor Girl! Stay stong and lean on the Lord! He is there for you, as I know you know!

Well, my lovely snowbirds! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday! :goodvibes We are having another cool, yet sunny, day today! :) My little Daycare girl is a bit out of sorts today as she is cutting some teeth! Does not want to sleep - poor thing is in a lot of pain! :sad1: I am going to fundraiser benefit at our church tonite so I won't be able to check in until close to 10pm! Hope all who are under the weather feel well again really soon!

Oh yeah, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who are hitting milestones this week! PARTY ON, SNOWBIRDS! :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

WELCOME to those newest snowbirds! Thanks for joining the party! :cool1:

OOOOOHHHHH! I just noticed I am 9 posts away from hitting 500! Big PARTY WEEK for me! Lots of milestones next week for this girl! I will hit 500 posts, go under 3 months, be within 90 days and be able to select my seats for my flights, and maybe hear something finally about a code! :cheer2: :cheer2:

WHO's READY to PARTY? :yay: :cool1:

I also just noticed that the monorail on my counter is finally starting to move! :cool1: For the longest time I thought it was broken! :lmao: It is EVER SO SLOWLY inching it's way closer to the Castle! :woohoo:

Bellasoleil - I sure hope things get better for your DH soon. He sure has been through a lot. You guys sure need this vacation! :goodvibes

I tell ya, it's always something. DS7's blood tests came back negative. So that was a good thing. But he did fail his eye exam and now I have to take him to a pediatric ophthalmologist next month. :faint: Good grief.

Praise the Lord for his good bloodwork report.Maybe on the eye thing he was nervous or wasn't sure what to do:confused3 They all ways scared me!! But, if he does have to get glasses--what a cutie!! They always (little boys) look like little professors to me!!!!

Hey NCG--glad to see you on board for a bit!! We missed you this morning!!

Oh DEar! Poor little guy! :flower3: I just took my girls to the Eye Doctor yesterday and they are both "where they should be" according to the eye doctor! I have bad eyes and DH has extremely incredible vision so it looks like, SO FAR, (knock on wood) they have their Daddy's sight! Hope everything turns out all right for Him, Shelly! Sometimes, putting corrective lenses on a growing child for a few years can fix the problem! :goodvibes

Oh Jen, poor You! That's not fun! :sad1: Do you EVER fly? Or just avoid it altogether?

Well I did fly when we went to Quebec for our Mission trip but it was a very long trip (had 2 stops in between) and I was very thankful for wonderful women who were willing to hold my hand and just talk me through it. Even the littlest of bumps sets me off.

THANKS! I miss you guys too! My mornings are always a little hectic! I always look forward to my "Quiet Time" when I can actually sit down with a sandwich and a cup of coffee and catch up with al of you! :surfweb:

Tailing a 16 month old makes for very busy mornings, and afternoons when she doesn't want to sleep! ;)

Thank goodness for good friends! :) The only times I have trouble is when we are landing at our home airport! Landings have to happen really fast here due to the lake and "mountains" so if you get a rookie pilot it can sometimes feel as though you are falling out of the sky! :scared1:

  As if you even have to ask!! WOOT Party Time!!

I nearly forgot about Boma! Yes...I mentioned Ohana as the restaurant I'm most excited about, but Boma might be first! All I've read about it makes me think it's going to be really great! I can't wait!

Shelly, so glad your little guy's blood tests came back negative!:thumbsup2

BellaSoliel, keep praying for God's healing! He is the great physician!:goodvibes

We had a church meeting and are trying to vote on a new name for our church. We narrowed it down to 3 choices. In order to register with the Israeli government, we need to give them 3 possibilities anyway. There can only be one organization with the same name in the country at one time. I'm pretty excited about the choices and can't wait to see what the final outcome is! The name is in Arabic, but the 3 choices translated into English are: Gates of Grace, Lighthouse, or Spring of Life. They are all really pretty names in Arabic too!

I've got ARabic lessons tomorrow too. I think I have homework!:scared: I guess I should check!

Anyone see The Office last night? I just watched it this afternoon online. HYSTERICAL!!!!! That has to be one of my all-time favorite shows ever. I nearly pass out laughing every week!

Now I've got to catch up on CSI. I just downloaded last night's ep. It will be nice when I'm in the US and I can watch the shows in the evenings without the computer!

Snowbird friends.... I don't know what to do.... I could do laundry:laundy: and housework..... I could rake the leaves in the yard,.,.... the garage is a disaster area.... I do need to go to the office..... or I could sit here and Dis along with a turkey on whole wheat pita and some grapes..........:surfweb:

DIS wins!!!!!!!!!!!

Likewise here! I managed to get errands done (with kids) this a.m. and frankly, I'm beat! I guess I just NEED some downtime (read: DIS). :surfweb: I told everyone once I started posting, I would be on here all the time!

Congrats to all in double digits! :cheer2:

Ugh - I'm so sorry for y'all...
On the optimistic front, I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal not long ago about how well they are managing staph infections now. Hopefully your DH will be cleared up in no time! :thumbsup2

And what is the deal with armpits?! I know 3 people who just had armpit staph infections...

(You know - "what is the deal with armpits" is a sentence I never thought I would say...)

Hey peach3es! I love those names for your church!

And yes, I saw the Office! Had a momentary panic that Tivo wasn't getting it. You'd think, we've been here 3 years now, we'd have figured out Central Time vs East Coast. Anyway - I loved it. I was all teary at the end! Dh laughed at me...

And yay Shelly!:cheer2: Great news about the bloodwork!

BTW, Distherapy - I read your TR from your trip this past Jan/Feb - sounds like you had a great time! :) It is one of my BIG DREAMS to stay at the GF! It looks so beautiful! :thumbsup2

oh yeah - I noticed that you didn't go to Tom Sawyers Island - I think your little ones would have loved that! :)

Yeah... another party...  I'm a dancin...dancin...dancing machine....:rolleyes1

Thanks for joining me! :woohoo:

I love all the church names! It will be neat to see what gets picked.

I LOVE THE OFFICE!!!! I'm embarrassed to say that we just started watching this season. We cracked up at the As-Tird jokes. We should get the other seasons on DVD and have an Office marathon. That would cheer us up!

Ugh - I'm so sorry for y'all...

Seriously! We've been through so much already and then God throws in an armpit infection! You can't say He doesn't have a great sense of humor!:rotfl2:
