January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part II !!!

Well as far as why I chose Janauary it came down to the fact it allowed me to have more time at Disney World while minimizing the days I had off. I first planned on visiting at Christmas time (mid-December) however I would only be able to take a couple days off from work (too close to finals time). So I looked at the January calendar and decided to go around MLK that would give me a free day and still according to TGM the crowds will be minimal (even over that weekend) so that is why I choose to go in January.

To those of you suffering issues with airlines..I'm so sorry I was considering using my airline miles in the end my fear of flying (I literally have an anxiety attack). Now I'm just going to drive down with all my supplies. My biggest worry is getting all my stuff from the car to my room at midnight YUCK!!!

Jen, I know people who have a fear of flying---I hate that for you-I enjoy it sooo much-that's part of the fun for us. My mom is like that. I think she said the last time they flew she had to go *tinkle* 14 times!!! Can you believe that-the first time I ever went to potty on a plain, I was pregnant with #3 and you know you just can't hold it!!! I would def not fly alone if I feared it. Seems like that would be worse. Thank goodness you can drive it in one day!! My parents are 3 hours away and I let the kids bring a movie-which u can't do, or a book on cd. I have really enjoyed some of those kids books. I had gotten one that was 10 hours long.The library lets you rent them for 3 weeks-maybe you should look for a really good one.(or 2) for your drive back. You could alternate that with your Disney cd-a little music---a little story--a little music--a little story!! Wouldn't that be great!! Wow, I think I should get my kids a new one checked out today!!

Hey, ya'll know what my kids really love? the Adventures in Odyssey on cd. We have up to #11--lots more to get, but they are sooooo awesome. If you haven't heard one you should go to the website & check it out. They are getting a few more for the collection from !!

So I found the countdown for my signature, but I see most of you have a cute picture one with yours. Where could I find that? TIA. The more Disney pictures I see the better!
I'm off to do errands with the kids No school today. Usually on my Fridays off I get a lot done while they're at school - so much easier when I don't have to solve all their disputes! Might have to bribe them with a present or a movie this afternoon! See you guys later!

Yes I have my Disney music CDs ( I have three of them) figured if I listened to them twice I would make it to Orlando. I hadn't thought of a book on tape, I'll have to look into that. I was sort of hoping that my rental car will have one of those adaptor jacks and then I can listen to the DIS Ipod segments on the way and try to find reviews of all the restaurants I'm going to be eating at and maybe get some good tips.

Good morning all of you lovely snowbirds. I just got back from the farmers market near my house in Columbus. The Amish have a meat market that has amazing fresh meat. I got a yummy stuffed flank steak that we will have for dinner. It is stuffed with Spinach, Sun Dried tomatoes and cheese and my kids love it (so do my hubby and I )

We are trying January because it is low points time for DVC.
Also, it will be nice to be in Disney without it being crazy hot!

Keep me posted about any deals for January. Our last 2 days we are there we are homeless. We are in a 1BR value at AKV but there was no availability at the end of our trip probably due to the marathon. We are thinking of trying Bonnet Creek for 2 nights (8th and 9th)...but I would consider something else if I got a pin code.

Did he know that you're planning on coming in January? Maybe as it is the inaugural month of the "Celebrations" theme, they're letting all of us who are already booked have our stays entirely free!
