My husband (who is reading this with me) said that one of his good friends he played College Football with was a guy named Matt Stehman. He was from Shamokin and my husband visited there a few times. He sure knows where it is!

Okay, PA people- I want to ask a REALLY silly and embarrassing question. (Seriously, I'm embarrassed to ask. )

Does anyone live near Jon and Kate Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8?

It is one of my favorite shows. Kate is one of my heroes.

Ooooh I love that show, too! I have unfortunately only caught it a few times. I know Kate can be pretty type A (like I couldn't believe when she made one of the handymen hold the vacuum hose up while the other one drilled! ) but in all honesty, if that were me dealing with all those kids, I'd probably be a heck of a lot meaner than she is!! I mean you can't expect a wife and mother of 8 little kids to be a saint, too!

Would it be to trite to say, "It's a small world afterall!" I know Stehmans, including Kirk and his father who was a teacher and coach. What year did your husband know this person? I know Kirk had an older brother, and Kirk graduated in 1992. Just curious! Your dh has actually been to Shamokin? So, tell me...what did he do while he was there? Because there isn't too much to do!

You girls must not look at the dining trip reports often. It seems like everyone I read has this in their reports. It sounds like some type of pastry with cream filling and coconut on top. You get it at bakery in Norway. It sounds divine! Don't feel bad, though, I didn't even know there was a bakery in Norway (and I worked at Disney!)

Oh, let me add that I also want to try a frozen Chai in Animal Kingdom, French Toast Loaf from Main Street Bakery and a Tollhouse Cookie from Starring Rolls.

Do I think about food too much?

This will be our 5th family trip to WDW and our 2nd in the month of January.

We were at AKL and WL in Jan '08 for 10 days (split) during the extreme cold snap that hit most of the country...

That said, we still squeezed in a few swims! (And there's always the jacuzzi's.) The lighter crowds were fantastic and are the #1 reason we are game for another January visit.

Be sure to bring long sleeves and pants though. I didn't bring enough (thought I could get by with capris, and I was chilly a lot of the time). Again, it was particularly cold for Fla. that week 1/2.

Okay, PA people- I want to ask a REALLY silly and embarrassing question. (Seriously, I'm embarrassed to ask. )

Does anyone live near Jon and Kate Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8?

It is one of my favorite shows. Kate is one of my heroes.

They live in the Hershey area. I lived in Gettysburg until three months ago; now i'm just outside of State College.

I did work as a chaplain there and ended just before the peanuts were born. I remember the nurses talking about sextuplets coming; I wish I could have met them!

Let us know when his surgery is supposed to be so we can be praying for ya'll.God will see you through!! I know sometimes it's hard, but if it wasn't a total dependancy on God, it wouldn't be FAITH!!!! Also, knowing that anything that happens to us, first had to pass through His hand, is such a comfort! May I ask....what he's grad. college as? He looks like a Doctor!!! Just curious-you really don't have to tell us!!

As for Jon & Kate--LOVE them!!!! I didn't know about it for a while(didn't get it on our cable program) and my mom kept telling me about them saying, you have GOT to watch them. Also, she kept telling me that Kate reminded her sooo much of me! Not the bossy to Jon so much, but how organized she was and her mannerisms.So, I finally got to watch them and fell in love with them. And yes, she did remind me of myself!! Jon is laid back just like my Mike!! And--I got my hair cut really short this summer--had been debating it for a while and it's almost her same haircut. Some of the kids at church have even told me"Do you know about Kate? You look just like her." which of course I eat up-NEVER have I been told I look like anyone 'known'. Ha!!!

I think those kids are the cutest!!! I love their whole family.And yes, I too am a clean freak--and don't like germs-- but I think she may have me beat!!!

He is in the medical field! Hehe! Which is why it is so frustrating that he went 11 days with a ruptured appendix!!! I know that he really knew what had happened, he was just trying to pretend like it hadn't. What a scare for me! I was 8 months pregnant at the time. I know that God was totally in control, because I was so brave for DH and only broke down in front of him once. Normally I would have lost it in a situation like that.

Would it be to trite to say, "It's a small world afterall!" I know Stehmans, including Kirk and his father who was a teacher and coach. What year did your husband know this person? I know Kirk had an older brother, and Kirk graduated in 1992. Just curious! Your dh has actually been to Shamokin? So, tell me...what did he do while he was there? Because there isn't too much to do!

My Husband thinks Matt would have graduated in 1988 or 1989; he transferred from Delaware State to Mansfield University in 1991(?). He said he didn’t remember much about his visit to Shamokin . He remembered it had a sign on I80 for it's exit! Matt was a great/funny kid (they both were kids at the time, my Husband STILL is) that transferred again after a year or so. Matt also still holds school records at Mansfield for place kicking. He said they were very good friends while Matt was there. "It's a small world after all.... "

I'm not from PA but I've heard of it! My brother went to school in Selinsgrove and got married there, so I've driven around lots.

I called Expedia to change our flights and it is a $150 penalty fee. I got an ache in my belly telling me not to do it so I didn't. I just thought it would be nice to arrive at 7pm instead of midnight. Oh well.....
