Oh Gosh SplashMtnCrew... I am so sad to hear of your grandfather.

Our prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

SplashMtnCrew- that's so sad, and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers, too. We're all giving you a :grouphug: .

Splashmtncrew, so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Prayers for him and for your family...

Splashmtncrew, sorry to here about your grandfather. I know how you must feel. Hopefully a miracle will happen.

Morning Snowbirds :hippie:
Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and prayers :goodvibes

My grandfathers condition hasn't changed, and they are waiting for one more of his children to arrive, and then I assume they will turn off the life support and see what happens. The neurologist says he had a seizure (never had that happen before) and has permanent brain damage that they believe is severe, but obviously the dr's don't know the extent of it until/if he wakes from the coma. I'm trying to get extra chores done in case we need to leave town in a few days. Again, thanks for the support and kind words :grouphug:

On a different note, I need to email IPO back with all of our adr's :woohoo:
Yes, we finally made a decision :rotfl:

How was the weekend Snowbirds?

We didn't do a whole lot. Did some yard work Friday. Saturday it was about 90 degrees, so we let DS6 skip T-ball and we went to a local beach instead! Yesterday was Church, then just hanging out at home and we went for ice cream last night.

Both of my kids play soccer (in the spring and fall) and love it! :cool1: I love watching them, it is very exciting!! DS6 wanted to try T-ball this year, and I knew he wasn't going to like it and tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted. And I don't want to tell him he can't try something new, so I let him sign up. Well guess what??? He doesn't care for it! It's "boring"! I tried to tell him that it was going to be a lot of standing around and waiting, not like soccer where they run and run and run some more! So now I tell him that he can't quit because he's on a team, but I have been letting him skip about half of the games. :guilty:

Good Mornign Snowbirds!

Anyone with any more ADR's to share? Has anyone called today or over the last few days to book?
We call on Wednesday so last night I made spredsheet with the days we are gone, the restuarants we want, the times we want and the reasons why we want those times ( Spectro, Wishes etc.) Altho I am guessing on past history to judge when those will be scheduled.

I don;t think we will have a problem getting our times. But we did make some changes based on the recent announcments of the changes to the dining locations (LTT, GG lunch etc).

I am disaapointed with these changes. I have never eaten at LTT and wanted to with the characters. GG is our favorite and we wanted for lunch instead of dinner this trip.

I have also never had a strawberry swirl or figaro fries and I heard they are gone now too :(

As well I have never seen Pochahantas and Friends.

These were all things on my TO DO list, now cross off. make planning seem kinda pointless with all these changes. I know lack of a strawberry swirl does not ruin a vacation, but when you see the picture and your excited, it's a let down.

Hi, Snowbirds! Hope all is well! My day is winding down, but I still have to get my oldest daughter to her violin lesson across town. I hate crossing town at this time of day! Oh, well!

I've been reading TourGuideMike's info today. I want to get a better idea of the counter service meals that appeal to us.

Heard from my TA that they are expecting a general rise in prices for the resorts and meal plan. I'm hoping it's minimal!

I really hate waiting for the prices and stuff for so long. You would think Disney would get on the ball so people could plan. Oh, well...that's just the frustration talking!:lmao:

Try not to be too disappointed Drakes!

I was surprised that they are changing the LTT to no characters. Never did make it there. And I guess the GG lunch ADR's must have been declining for them to eliminate that. :confused3

We have never seen Pocahontas & Friends, is that the show at AK? I hadn't heard it was closing. Bummer.

Let us know what you get for ADR's on Wednesday! :yay:

I need to figure out when I can call for mine. Since I don't have a reservation I don't think the 180+10 rule applies. Not sure. . .

Please let me know if I've accidentally missed anybody that should be on the list. I am trying hard to keep up!

Maybe here towards the end of the month I will get a list going of our ADR's, when more of us have them made (hopefully :wizard: ). . . . It's always fun to see if you have any ADR matches with anyone else! :cool1:

Good news all! My DH has finally shown some interest in our trip! Last night he informed me that NW is now charging for the first checked bag...of course he told me this at the movie theater, not when I had my computer:headache: . So could I concentrate on the movie? Not so much. Anyway, the new fee doesn't apply to us because we bought our tickets so early. Remember when he thought I was nuts for buying them so far ahead? So now that's two scores for me on the tickets, lowest price I had ever seen and 4 free checked bags (one for each of us)!

Also, while we were eating dinner I asked him if he wanted to help make decisions about ADRs or if he just wanted me to take care of it. He actually had some questions about the process and said he would like to look at some food porn.   Maybe he's coming around.

I'm having a hard time deciding (based on last year's hours of course) which park(s) to do which days. Every time I sit down to figure it out I come up with a new schedule. I don't know how everybody does it!!! I'm thinking we'll do am emhs when possible and try to get lots done in the ams. I want to try to keep DDs on somewhat the same time schedule so going back to school won't be worse than it will be anyway! So hopefully no staying up until 11 or 12 for us. That's tolerable in the summer if necessary, but not during school.

What is everyone's opinions of park hoppers? Necessary/not necessary? Worth the cost/waste of money? I'm planning to buy our tix from UT before the end of the month to try to avoid any cost increase (which I guess happens in August).

Thanks for sharing!

I don't get the park hoppers unless they are offered free with a package. We paid for them on the first trip and we only "hopped" once. They are nice to have if you are doing the DDP and have ADR's in the parks and need to hop! So I guess it just depends on your schedule. Really look at what you plan to do and think about how much your family will be capable of doing in one day and then decide from there. They are quite a bit more money.

My DH has kind of done the same thing. He didn't care when we made our ADR's, but now he's suddenly starting to voice his opinion.

Glad he seems to be getting excited though! :)

I haven't been as many times as others, but we've gotten the hoppers every time we've gone and it's so much more convenient. It's nice to have the flexibility to go to a park, take a break, then go to a different park if we want. If you don't plan on doing this, then I'd skip it, but it's nice to have 'just in case'.

Don't forget me Momof2! Jan 27th-Feb3rd at POP! :cool1:

we will add on the park hopper. We used once last trip. But it was our insurance that we could hop is needed (due to crowds, dinners, weather etc.)

This trip we plan on more hopping and more resort dining, out of the park to resort and hop to a different park after the meal.

Planning for us is actually easy, I know fro UG what days are considered best days, we like to save MK until we have visited the other parks because it is our favorite and once we have been to MK, we keep wanting to back, so to give the other parks their fair share we visit them first. I also have heard and can see why that Epcot is good on weekends, so as we arrive on a friday, we head to DHS for a small visit and fantasmic :wizard: , then the weekend is usually epoct, then AK, then MK for our glorified magic and pixie dust :cheer2:

My DSIL, miabellarose, is already on the list, but I though I'd add that we're going to be there Jan 3rd-11th with her as well. :)

As for ADR's, here's what we have (though it's subject to change ;) ):
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Brown Derby (dinner)
50's Prime Time (dinner)
San Angel Inn (lunch)
Le Cellier (dinner)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Boma (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)
