Anyway me my DW, DD9, DS, DB, and DM are all going in Jan. We are doing the Disney Cruise lines land and sea package. We will be at WDW POFQ 22-25 Jan and then take a 4 day cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay. Me and my DD9 are very excited to be going, I haven't been to WDW since 1985
and of course my DW and DD9 have never been. Anyway you can add me to the list of SnowBirds. Glad to be on board

Hey Everyone!
I am getting so excited about the trip; 6 months and 7 days!
I wanted to make reservations now but my agent said we need to wait till the packages come out. Is this true? I see so many of you making reservations already; it kinda makes me nervous. I'm just so ready to start getting the ball rolling!
Beginning or end?
You lucky dog!![]()
I wish we could stay longer but the kids must get back to school- they're missing 3 days, but I don't feel comfortable having them miss any more than that.
We are going Jan 17th-24th. I can't wait. We are staying at SSR as brand new DVC members. It will be our first trip "home." This will also be our first real stay in January (we have stayed through Jan 3rd for a Christmas trp). I have heard wonderful things about WDW during this time of year so I am excited about going. Now how to be patient for 188 more days???![]()

We always take the kids out for 5 days. I feel a little guilty about it, but they rarely ever miss any other days the whole school year. Plus they are still in elementary school, so I might as well do it now! As long as their grades are good that is!
No ressies yet, but we're thinking ASMo, or POP.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to keep it a secret right up until we get on the plane......just don't think we can pull that one off! Maybe xmas morning, though!
We usually take our kids out of school for a couple of days in late September for a trip to the coast- coast of Texas that is- so it'll add up to about 5 days for the whole year. It's definitely not as big of a deal in elementary school. My oldest started middle school last year and she missed those September days and it wasn't an issue. She is a straight A student so that definitely helps. It's great motivation to keep those grades up as well!![]()
Congratulations about DVC! How exciting! It seems like people on the DIS are buying DVC left and right. Did you buy SSR or AKV? We're renting points and staying at AKV for our trip (1/21-1/28), but it's our first trip ever. I'm having a really hard time being patient, too!
Yeah, I'm not sure what our school's policy is on "educational excused absence" trips once they hit middle school. I know in May my 3rd grader had SO MUCH make up work that it was ridiculous! I can't imagine what they will have in 7th grade.![]()
I guess I can't use the- "you have to have all A's & B's to be able to go to Disney" this time since I am keeping the trip a secret!![]()
I'm hoping DS9 doesn't catch on before then. It's going to be hard!

I need to make a countdown calendar for DS to count down days till WDW! He's asked me to do 4 times already.
