Don't forget me Momof2! Jan 27th-Feb3rd at POP! :cool1:

My DSIL, miabellarose, is already on the list, but I though I'd add that we're going to be there Jan 3rd-11th with her as well. :)

As for ADR's, here's what we have (though it's subject to change ;) ):
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Brown Derby (dinner)
50's Prime Time (dinner)
San Angel Inn (lunch)
Le Cellier (dinner)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Boma (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)

 OMG I am so sorry I somehow missed you two! I remember you both posting before too. I must be losing it! I tell ya, once you hit your 30's it all goes downhill!

You are both added now! :cool1:

Amreli - The ADR's look great! You're making me hungry! :mickeybar

:rotfl:
My DH has kind of done the same thing. He didn't care when we made our ADR's, but now he's suddenly starting to voice his opinion.

Glad he seems to be getting excited though! :)

My DH hasn't ever offered his opinion on anything until now, he asked that we go back to Mama Melrose because it was the best meal of his trip in May. I really didn't want to go back because the service was so very slow, but the food was very good. So since this is the last time we will probably do the DDP in awhile (since DS will be 10 next year) we are going to go. Might as well get our money's worth on the DDP since our bill totaled nearly $100 there! :scared1:

Here's the ADR's we are hoping for! :wizard:

1900 Park Fare - dinner
Mama Melrose - dinner
Plaza Restaurant - dinner
Tusker House - Donald's breakfast
LeCellier - dinner

That leaves one open. . . I would like to go to the new T-Rex restaurant that is supposed to be opening this fall at DTD, but haven't heard if it is going to be included on the DDP or not or if they are even taking ADR's for it yet. . . .

"- In fall 2008, guests will enter a world of prehistoric creatures at T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. The dinosaur-themed family eatery will serve up pizzas, pastas, seafood and more, and will feature life-size animated dinosaurs that dwell among bubbling geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site."

I think the boys would love this!

Eeek.......I just found out you don't HAVE to have your room ressies made to make ADRs....my bad!! I can go day-by-day now, right???? Which means I have to get on this TODAY for the first day of our trip!

Yeah, I think you can book each day 180 days out if you don't have a ressie. You just can't do the 180+10 days. That's the position I'm in too, since I am waiting to book!

Does anyone want to play a fun little game to help pass the time ( for the next 6 months!! :rotfl: ) ??? We used to do this on the May planning thread. . . It's called "Question of the Day"! Someone posts a Disney related question/poll and everyone gives their answer/opinion, then the next day someone else posts a new question, and so on and so on. . . .

Here's an easy one:

What is your favorite Disney park? (those of you who haven't been there yet can say which one you most look forward to!)

Mine is DHS! Yes, most will answer MK, but I just love DHS!! :lovestruc It's so exciting and not too big, not to mention my favorite all time ride is there - Rock N Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith! I just love the atmosphere of DHS! Fantasmic is great too!

Mine is MK :)
But I am looking forward to DHS this time, because I can finally ride Rock n Roller Coaster! Last time we went I was pregnant, so I had to wait outside with our dd.

/
Oh! I'll play!

Mine is DHS too! Only, when I was there last it was called MGM Studios! :lmao: I have no idea when they changed the name...hadn't heard until I started planning this trip.

I love Hollywood and all the "magic" that goes along with it. I'm intrigued by celebrities. I love acting and have always enjoyed good movies and theater. When I was there I was thrilled with The Great Movie Ride and The Muppet Show Live. I also enjoy the Indiana Jones show and just walking around the park, etc. Loved it!

I love MK and Epcot too, and I'm sure I'll enjoy AK. But DHS is my favorite, hands down!:cheer2:

~~Carrie

We were last there in '93, for our honeymoon, so I know A LOT has changed.....I'm looking forward to seeing all of it!!! Last time I'd say I liked MK the best with DHS a close second, though it was MGM then too!:)This time, I'm looking forward to AK the most, since I haven't EVER been there!

What is your favorite Disney park? (those of you who haven't been there yet can say which one you most look forward to!)

Sounds fun...although I am looking forward to all of the parks, I would have to say that Animal Kingdom excites me the most because my DDs are totally into animals. I wouldn't be surprised if DD8 were to become a vet! I think we're really going to take our time and enjoy everything there. My DSisIL and family are leaving for Disney on Friday and they have 1/2 day (out of 6) planned at AK. I was planning two full days!!! Am I being overzealous?

BTW-is this font size hard to read? I have a 17" laptop and it's fine for me, but I wonder about it on a 15". Thanks!

Yes, MGM became DHS about 2 weeks before I was there in May. I still call it MGM all the time! I don't know what it is about that place that just really makes me smile as soon as we walk in the gates! :goodvibes I guess it's the magic of Hollywood. I know some people don't like it because there aren't as many rides as other parks, but I really enjoy the rides they do have and the shows are great too. Not to mention my little Star Wars fans are in heaven when they are there!

Trixie - We too only schedule about 3-4 hours for AK too. My kids just aren't into the animals anymore. DS9 & I LOVE EE, so we always go right for that! We did the Safari once and it was fun, but they don't care to do it again I guess. :confused3 I love Dinosaur! And I'd like to see the Nemo Musical. That's about it there for us. If your girls are really into the animals, you are probably right to plan for 2 days there, especially since they are only open 9-5. It is Disney's largest park. And boy is it large. We've never made it the whole way around it. I always find it to be the hottest park too for some reason, and smelly in the hot weather. You shouldn't have that problem in January! Oh, and by the way - your font looks good to me!

We are going Jan 17th-24th. I can't wait. We are staying at SSR as brand new DVC members. It will be our first trip "home." This will also be our first real stay in January (we have stayed through Jan 3rd for a Christmas trp). I have heard wonderful things about WDW during this time of year so I am excited about going. Now how to be patient for 188 more days???:confused3
We did the same thing and joined DVC right after las trip, We are also AKL owners. We are making our first trip home the same week you are going!!! Maybe we will be bump into you:goodvibes

We usually take our kids out of school for a couple of days in late September for a trip to the coast- coast of Texas that is- so it'll add up to about 5 days for the whole year. It's definitely not as big of a deal in elementary school. My oldest started middle school last year and she missed those September days and it wasn't an issue. She is a straight A student so that definitely helps. It's great motivation to keep those grades up as well! :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 I agree , we took kids out of school for a whole week last year and they ended up with straight A's still. We ended up having a snow day before we left, so the kids got a whole day to work on homework and it worked well, so we did not have to take with:worship: The good part about Jan, the parks are not as open as long, so they don't get too off schedule.
Right now my 9 and 7 year old are so off on sleeping that I told them after vacation (10 days till Disney!!!:cool1: ), we have to start goin to bed earlier or they are never going to wake up.
We are going over MLK this year, so there will be only 4 days out.

What is everyone's opinions of park hoppers? Necessary/not necessary? Worth the cost/waste of money? I'm planning to buy our tix from UT before the end of the month to try to avoid any cost increase (which I guess happens in August).

Thanks for sharing!
We love the flexiblity of the park hopper. It allows us to see a park during day, head back and clean up or rest, and then head to different park for dinner and nightly show. This seemed to work really well for us. This next trip, I really would like to do more dinners at Epcot. I just love the ambiance there. AKL closes at 5pm and DHS closes earlier also some days. Good luck in your choice
 Does anyone ever get the non-expiring and do you feel the expense is worth the convience????

I would love to play!!! I am probably in the minority, I love AK!!!. I think it is just beautiful. One of my new fav rides is Everest and Nemo was spectacular. I love just also hanging out back by the safari area and listening to the music with a nice cool drink in hand!:cool1: This past time we went to Tusker House for breakfast before park opened. It was so peaceful, and it was one of our best character meals and the characters spent great time with my kids. Daisy is adorable in her safari getup. We did spend 1 1/2 days here this past trip. If I can learn how to post pictures, I will. Does anyone know if I can use pictures from my snapfish account??

Splashmountain, I hope you have recieved better news today.

My ADR day is to be 7/21, so I will let you all know how it goes!!!

:wizard: My son got to go to Wrigley for first time this past weekend. He said it was his dream come true. I am not a cubs fan like my hubby and Connor, but it was so neat to see how excited they were!!! Chicago is always amazing. We are a 3 hour train ride away.

I'll play!

I too love AK and it's probably the one I'm looking forward to the most, especially because of EE. I'm excited about Epcot too because I've never been on Soarin'. Of course I'm looking forward to all of the parks, but those two especially. :)

Soarin is so great! Probably my second favorite ride after RNRC. Soarin is our favorite family ride, we all love it! We always run there right after rope drop!

I'm not sure about that. You could just give it a try. I use photobucket, just because that's what someone told me to do when I asked how to post pics!:rotfl:
