January 2008 Code Watch

Can someone help me. I have already booked a AAA package for Jan 1-7. I have NON hopping tickets, dinning and of course room (Pop Century). AAA was $117 less than booking through Disney. It was $1618.00

If I take the offer that (assuming it comes out this week) allows me to "Park Hopping, Waterparks and More" for free, I'll loose the $117 discount, and get the bonus of hopping. Is this correct? So, I'd pay the rack rate at that point ($1735.00 for my trip) correct?

And how much does is cost to add hopping to 2 adult and 1 childrens six day tickets?

If it's near $117, it sounds like a wash. If it were warmer weather, I could see the benifit of the water parks but...

The park hopping option is a flat rate of $47.93 per person. I'm not sure if there's a difference between adult and child prices.
(I got that amount from mousesavers.com.)
If it's the same for everybody then that would equal $143.79, which would be $26.79 more than the $117 you saved.
Which means you could pay the rack rate and get the free hopping for less than if you paid for it in addition to the amount with the AAA discount, and you would have water parks and more if for some reason you had the urge to use it.

I hope that helps!

I called back and got the code applied to my ressie. I had to book the package for 6 nights and kept the AAA rate for the last 4 nights. The second guy I got on the phone worked hard to get it worked out. I am still trying to figure out what kind of a deal I got. I did have the AAA rate for 10 nights ($1530) and my tickets would have been $1640 for 6 adult base 10 day and 1 child base 10 day tickets. Total of $3170. My package total is $3218.
$48 more that I am paying then if I booked it seperately. Does anyone know what my savings are? I am getting the hopping option for everyone and water parks, but who knows if I will be able to use the water park option?
Does anyone know if the dining plan is discounted or is it at regular rate with the package? I didnt check into the price on that. Thanks

Oh yeah, I just wanted to say that I DID have to use my Disney Visa to put down the deposit for the package even though I already had put down a deposit for my room only a while ago. I had to put down $200 per room with my Disney Visa.

SOOOOO did she use the EXACT same code as the VISA code??? Trying to figure out what to tell my TA!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I didn't use the Disney Visa code, nor did the reservationist even mentioned Visa to me, or warn me that I would need one to keep the discounted rate. I think it's opened to everyone:confused3

Hey All:

Had an existing reservation at ASMovies for 2 adults and a 7 yr. old Jan 1-13. Hadn't "packaged" it yet to include park tickets waiting for a discount. (Did make our meal reservations though, thanks to great advice from many of you.) Called today with the discount and used my Disney Visa to pay the deposit. Saved $479.96 off the quoted price for the same package on disney.com. Wasn't going to spring for the water parks, but now we'll swim. :dance3:

Thanks Again!

Yes, that helps a lot! I think, for my family's trip, it may not be the best deal. We hadn't planned on hopping and the water parks will not be an option since it's Jan. I appreciate you helping me sort through that!

If we change our minds about hopping, I may jump on it. (that is, if my dates and Pop are avalible)

Well, still haven't heard back from our TA, but I asked her if she could go ahead and use the gen public code, not the VISA code.... So hopefully we'll luck up!!!

FINGERS CROSSED

The e-mail that Visa sent to me today made it sound like it is only for value resorts but when I called they applied it to our ressie at AKL originally we had a ressie for rooms only savannah view for 1300.00 then whenI called she said it could only be used for a "package" so we added 5 day park hoppers we did have to change our room tho to a pool view (why I never understand) and we got 4 nights plus 3 5 day park hoppers for 1600! When I did the same on-line w/o the visa disc. it was 2100! I think I did well. The only thing is that I cannot use a AP disc for a package, it is room only. I guess I will not renew my AP for this trip...
I guess I can alway change depending on how great the disc is. Last year it was 40% off so when that comes out we will do some number crunching :)

I was able to save $340 for my 8 night / 9 day trip, staying at CB.
Yeah... so glad these finally came out.

so does it seem the codes are avaliable to everyone now? I know someone said the ASMu suites aren't included though, and that's where we have our reservation, but if the code is avaliable I might still call to see if we can save any money. TIA

Call and see.

Nope.

The CM I talked to today told me I had to have a Disney Visa to book the package.

Maybe it depends what CM you get, but, like PP have said, I don't want to risk it.

I'll wait for a general code.

I just emailed my TA through dreams unlimited to see if she could apply the code--she said they apply all codes automatically to see if they work, but before I pay i'm hoping she can give me a reduced price with the discount....if not, i think i will wait til the general comes out to pay.

has anyone worked with dreams unlimited and do they REALLY apply codes automatically?

I'm still really confused about the codes and whatnot. See, I've already booked a package for January 20-26 (MYW+D) and it's been paid off already.

There's no way to get a code applied to my reservation/package and get the savings?

Sorry for the newbie question.

Just an FYI -
If you called this morning and were told it was sold out, try calling again. My friend is going 1st week of FEB, staying at ASMovies. Her hubby called this morning to apply the code and was told it was sold out. She tried this afternoon and she got the discount. It's always worth a 2nd call...you can't lose anything. :woohoo:

Have always been pleased with Dreams, I think you'll find that they do everything possible for thier clients. I have even had Sue Ellen work magic when I was told by Disney that there were no discounts available. :goodvibes: I know I'm happy with my existing AAA reservation, I'll have to see if this new code will be worth the change for me. AAA is already saving me $200 off my room, so it'll have to be a savings greater than that.

My TA said as soon as the general code comes out she can apply it to our reservation (already paid in full) and we will get the difference back :woohoo:

Does anybody know when the AP discount or any room only codes for January will be released? Will it be on 11/1 when the package discount is released to the general public? Thanks for any info!

We're staying 1/14-1/21 so it seems the last 3 days will be blocked out. Would it be worth it to do a split reservation? So I can get the deal the first 4 days and pay rack rate the last 3? I just hate that I won't be able to take advantage of any discount.

DH checked his email this evenin found out about this offer DD decided not to play basketball this season an she doesn't go back to school after the holidays till Jan 7th so if DH can change a vacation week we on our way.

Big surprise for DD as she was not expectin to go till June 09 right after graduation Guess if DH gets the time off this gonna be DD's pregraduation visit lol
