What is everyone planning for Shore Excursions? Sorry if its been brought upin the other 31 pages!

St. Maarten - We are booked with Bernard for an island tour
St. Thomas - My yongest told me it was his dream to go a on a pirate ship, so I am trying to get one of the excursions on a pirate sailboat to St. John's snorkeling
CC - R&R, snorkeling on own, beach time

Just got my confirmation for Bernard's island tour in St. Maarten! THank you for the heads up he was now accepting the ressies! I can't wait for Jan! :yay:

I was looking at the excursions again...

I know my family wants to do a day at the beach so I was figuring St. Maartens French Riviera Beach Rendezvous but I'm scared Orient Bay will be like Waikiki and I DESPISE Waikiki. St Thomas I think I like the Doubloon Turtle Cove Sail & Snorkel.

Yes, we are on the 9 am tour! I am so excited! Thanks for posting! I had tried to book a month ago and they were not accepting ressies then.

Cool, we are on the same tour then. DW 40, DS 13, DS 9, and me 40.

We are going to do the Dubloon Tour as well, looks fun, and would take care of my 9 year olds statement that he has never sailed on a pirate ship! :P

Last time we were in St Maarten we took a taxi to Dawn Beach and LOVED it. I can look, but I think we spent $15 for 2 loungers and an umbrella. The beach was clean and not very crowded, and had waves (not huge, but good for my kids to jump and bodysurf). The view was breathtaking. There was a small restaurant, but we had water and snacks from the ship so we didn't eat there, but it looked and smelled amazing. We arranged for the taxi to pick us up at a certain time after to take us back to the ship. Aside from Castaway Cay it was our favorite beach day of any cruise. (I may have some pictures in my photobucket account if you want me to check.)

Turtle cove was so much fun. We took the Capt. Nautica speedboat snorkle tour, but it did go to turtle cove. We saw lots of seaturtles, and they are not afraid of people-great photo ops so bring a water camera :thumbsup2

I've posted the link to the "Crashing the Caribbean" website over on the CC Roll Call too, hope that is okay. So there should be more people to add soon to the list!

Excellent! We are DH 44,DS 5 and me in my 40's and we will keep it at that....LOL....
We are also looking at the Doubloon tour as well! I think my son will like that and is swimming abilities have amazed me this summer so I think he will love it!

Thanks for the info.. that makes me feel soooo much better about going to Turtle Cove. I'm still really scared about trying to do the beach on my own but if it saves me that much money, it may be worth a try.

Are there any problems with others trying to use your chairs you rent??? Did you see any cabana's?? I thought I saw somewhere that they had them but looking again I can't find any.

We didn't have any problems at all with people using our chairs. We had our backpack on one, and we were at the water's edge so we were always close. I don't remember any cabanas, but it was a while ago and cabanas weren't that popular then. It's crazy here right now but I will try to get some photos soon and post them for you. Maybe I can find my own link with them...

Well after much debate we changed our Dream cruise back to the Magic. Works better for my schedule at work. This is our 5th cruise and 3rd on Magic. We are also DVC members but not cruising on points. Staying at BCV for 3 nights and 1 night at home at KV then Disney transport. So can't wait!

Although I do not want to wish my fall season away....but I am so excited 4 months from today we will be on the Magic sailing into the sun.......:dance3::cheer2:

Can anyone give information about the fish extender exchange? I was pointed in this direction, but haven't found anything mentioned...though I still have more pages of the thread to review!:goodvibes

I am cruising for the sixth time with my husband, daughters (15 and 19) and mother. We thought it would be fun to maybe participate...

Thanks!
