When is your wife, Christa going to come back on the boards. I know she was pretty excited about this trip. I'm surprised she hasn't been posting lately. I hope everything is ok? How is her back doing? I know you and Christa are coming on this cruise but was Christa's mom Cathie coming also? I heard so much about the two of them from the last cruises I was looking forward to meeting them.

We are. Looking forward to a relaxing evening before the madness that is a DVC Members Cruise kicks off.

We, too, are staying at the Hyatt the night before the cruise. The last time we cruised in January, we flew in the day of the cruise and nearly missed it due to flight delays. Never again!

Hi HG, I guess what confuses me is that you said I asked people for the list. I didn't, I asked you to be added to the list. You also said I wanted personal info. I didn't and don't, I asked for the same list that has my name on it. Please let everyone know that we are John Michael and Cathie in room 9526 celebrating her 40th birthday and that I made gifts for everyone as my wife has always wanted to be part of a FE. She has seen the pockets hanging from the FEs on the ships before and wanted to be a part of this one, but as usual I told her NO. I really didn't want to do them in the past. But, I told her I was planning her 40th for her and as a surprise I've gone to so much trouble to make everything perfect. And even though I was told by a friend the close date was the day I wrote you, I'm hoping you can help me make this surprise birthday special. So even if people don't have extra gifts I would still like for her to be able to drop off gifts in the pouches as part of my gift to her. She always wanted to do this and I don't want her to know I dropped the ball. Please let people know that I'm trying to do my best for my wife's surprise birthday and that they are under no obligation to give us anything... I just want my wife to be a part of this great DIS FE and to think that I had done everything I was supposed to in the planning. She has planned every trip, party, event, etc. perfectly for 15 years. We drop them in all unless we run out. We have been a part of FE lists and not. You have posted your cabin assignment, folks will be able to add you if they can. Since you have gifts for all would a list really be necessary?

I'm sure the meets times and places will be on the first post of the thread. You are included in those activities.

All we need is a list of the rooms. The gifts are for the cabin. My wife walked around with our friends who carried a list to help deliver the gifts last time. Their list was extensive... It had cabin number, names, ages, designation of DH, DD, DS, etc. Ive been told there are privacy issues with this cruise so I gave my email address so it could be emailed to me when people give permission. But in actuality we don't need anything but the room number if that is all someone wants to give or PM me like "scrapbookmomma" emailed me directly their info. Either way works... As long as my wife feels like she is part of the DVC Member Cruise Fish Extender Gift Exchange is all that matters to me.

one thing to remember on the Dream you can get quite a workout handing out FE gifts. On the Maiden voyage there were over 80 rooms in our group and it was time consuming luckily my son did most of the running around. We are ok with adding any late comers.

Maybe you didn't see in my last message... My wife's name is Cathie...I'll elaborate, she doesn't know she is even coming on this trip until she wakes up and we leave later that day and even then she won't know the details. I'll also elaborate more to hopefully clear up this coincidence... My wife's mother's name is Marie and she is ill needing major surgery and may have cancer so she hasn't traveled in some time nor will she in the foreseeable future. I don't know who this Christa person is as I'm new to the DIS.

I think we all get the hint John and Christa (sorry I mean Cathie ) I think it probably would have gone over better if they wasn't so many people who traveled with you on the B2B2B cruises you did earlier this year that were also going on this cruise.

I have to say may husband and I are more excited for this trip than the Christmas holiday. We were always curious about the fish extenders on previous cruises and am so happy to have found this board and can't wait to sneak around an distribute gifts. We planned on randomly passing out our extras since mystery gifts are fun too.

DDD, When my wife, Cathie, walked around with our friends doing their FE with them on our last cruise she commented saying on our "next" cruise that she would love to do one. Hence this is our "next" cruise which happens to be a "surprise" for her. Her mother, Marie, is so ill and is having major surgery by an Oncology Surgeon the day we get back that she has been tending to her needs and has not had much time for anything else much less Disney nor even the holidays. So much so that I have been doing all the shopping and wrapping this season AND trying to plan this big trip.

Quite frankly, I'm downright frustrated. Our friend told me how much fun and helpful the DISBoards are considering that I don't even have Facebook and that they know I hate going online.

My wife is the one who plans everything all the time and when she needs help or to be surprised I thought I could pull it off with some help. I never expected to be accused of being someone who I'm not, even after I've explained the situation and that it's a pure coincidence, nor did I think I'd have every word analyzed.

So far I have 2 people who pm'd me to say they can help and one wrote on the thread that they have extra. Who else can help? And how many rooms are on the list so I know how many gifts to pack? For those of you who want to help I'm truly grateful! And for those who aren't, please remember the Golden Rule... "Do unto others as you would have them do to you". Thanks!

This is my opinion on the situation ... I think whats frustrating a lot of people is that you or Christa (under the name Christa) have already posted on facebook, not only on our group page but on the past group pages from the NY cruise you said you were on that ...

1. John and Christa are going on this cruise and are in the room you are in. They also have not changed their rooms since they booked. (same room number as you)

2. Christa (John's wife) is celebrating her 40th birthday on this cruise. (same as your wife)

3. Posted that they wanted to join the FE even though it was closed and was going to make up a fake disboards acct using John as the first name and if anyone asked using Cathie (Christa's mom's name) as his wife's name (John and Cathie)

4. John and Christa have the same hotel stay as John and Cathie. Hilton Head on New years Day, Caribbean Beach on January 2 and Old Key West on January 6th

5. Both celebrating their 12th anniversary on this cruise

I could go on with the list but I think you can see my point. I can only speak for myself and convey the messages of the others who have contacted me. This has come across as deceiving especially when it seems like this was all to just get on a closed FE list.

If you are not "John and Christa" then I think you have a more serious problem regarding your identity being stolen.

Again this is just my opinion. If everyone doesn't mind I would prefer to table this conversation and focus on the cruise.

If you have extra gifts and can drop something off for John and his wife his room number is listed in a previous post. I'm sure they would appreciate it. John, since you have so many gifts please bring whatever you feel comfortable packing and distribute them at whatever doors you like. This should satisfy both parties involved.

We are going on the DVC Member Cruise next year which is our 1st time ever doing an S.S. cruise but will be my 10th DCL cruise and DH's 4th. Are you starting a folder in your bucket for just 2013 DVC Member Cruise requests?

Also we will be going down early for about 8 days to WDW to celebrate my 40th Birthday which technically is on St. Patrick's Day and our 12th Anniversary which technically is on Cinco de Mayo. Yes, he lucked out having dates he needs to remember on holidays and not just any holidays... holidays that his major client - Diageo Liquor distributes Baileys/Guiness and Jose Cuervo, lol! Anyway I digress... I was about to ask for some DISigns with my fav characters... Sorcerer Mickey or Tink or Peach from Nemo or all the Princesses (namely Rapunzel (with brown hair at the end of the movie), Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Mulan, hmm that's almost all of them, lol), and lets not forget the Castle and Epcot Ball. Mickey or Pirate Mickey or our last name is Gill so for him Gil from Nemo or Pirates of the Caribbean for my DH, John.

Actually I think we are going with TotW. I had to call DVC today and after a long talk with the castmember I confirmed it's open to all DVC staying at the resort until 12/29/13. I just wonder if their is enough room?
