Hi folks!
Missed me? :flower3:

I didn't used the Kids Sail Free promotion, but the other KSF, the Kanadians Sail Free! :rotfl:

Well, 25% off felt that way for me, since I already had budgeted for the original price... Well, it doesn't mean the money's back in my pocket, it has been converted into wine package and other mimosa credits! :drinking1 Maybe they should have named this promotion Kanadians Drink Free!

Oh, and since everybody here is all classy and everything with their questions about cognac tasting and snorkeling, let me be the tacky one: How about the bingo? Is it fun, frustrating, over-priced, entertaining, all of the above? I'm a bit put off by the electronic cards that auto-fill themselves, since it takes away my secret advantage over ADD-riddled kids and over-camomilled grannies, but is it still worth it? Or are you all judging me for even asking the question? :scared:

I'm leaving by train on the 18th, for a 3-day New York trip and then a 22-hour train ride to Orlando. My two friends and I are gonna meet at the Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport and we got a town car waiting at 9h00 AM on the 22nd, to arrive at the terminal at 10h00! They tell me it's too soon, but I want to be there when the terminal opens, am I crazy? :confused3

Well, I'm definitely crazy, but am I right?

We're going to Nachi Cocum too! A little nervous with what is going on in Mexico but if a group was going, I think it will be a blast! :) All DD talks about is "swim, swim, swim!"!

As for pirate night...I found DD a cute little skirt that kinda looks like a pirate. We will be at dinner and that's it. Every day she confirms with us "no fireworks?" so I'm not going to tramatize her for this vacation. :) If she is asleep, I think either DH or I will try to sneak up to watch the party for a little bit and bring back some goodies from the buffet. :)

Can anyone confirm about the paperwork to bring to the port??? It printed out 3 pages of a contract to sign. All the other information I filled out (airline, passport, etc.) is saved but no where did it provide me with an opportunity to print it. Yeah, I know I'm a slacker and just did it tonight.

GiddyRhino....I am like 30 min outside of NYC! We could have met before the cruise! Enjoy...what are you doing in the city?

And I am also curious about the bingo. Been on 3 cruises before this one....all RCL....did the Bingo the first day and EVERY time I won the last bingo that day. :) The last cruise was for a suite, but I tied with someone so they gave us $$$ instead....we actually upgraded at the port so it paid for the upgrade anyway. Soooo curious on what the "prizes" are on Disney. I should mention that I never play bingo except for a couple times on a cruise because of the $$$ (and on RCL it's fairly cheap...less than $20). And I too am upset about no paper cards....I have no idea the electronic cards work!

We finally got our FE in the mail today! Yeah!!

Oh, we booked with the KSF promotion. We were originally booked on the Dream in June with a magic porthole room, but we decided to go on this cruise instead. I still cannot believe it is so soon!!

I haven't been on a Disney cruise before, but this are the prices of Bingo based on information in the current Passporter guide:

$19 for a single pack (3 cards, one per game)
$29 for a value pack (6 cards, 2 per game)
$49-$99 Electronic card pads :scared1: Wow, that is expensive!

I bought all of us matching Mickey Pirate t-shirts on ebay...really cute....I have pirate hats for the kids and I have a pirate bandana...that is all we are doing...no big dress ups.

The kids have pirate costumes and DH and I have tshirts. :)

Well, I'll meet a Twitter friend (I'm @Brular on Twitter, if any of you are fellow Twitteroos!) and do some last minute shopping, because summer clothes in Montréal these days? Not on the racks! Unless I bring some fur bermudas? :rotfl2: I'll try to see Billy Elliot and go to a museum I still haven't decided on. Please tell me any good idea you might have!

Yep, I saw those prices, but I wasn't sure if it was for a whole tournament (is this how we call it? It doesn't sound right!) or if we needed more for extras and such. Well, I guess I'll see... If I can see under the paper bag I'll use to escape your judgment! :guilty:

definitely not judging! :confused3 I think Bingo is fun! I would play the $19 or even $29 cards, but I cannot see me paying up to $99 for an electronic device! Ouch!

wow 100 pages we may be out of things to say by next weekend. lol

Ok i am almost done FEs, I think i have bitten off more then i can chew with this cruise. I am used to just booking, packing, flying then sailing all this planning and prepping is a lot of work :rotfl:

in regards to the KSF promo we booked with no promo then got the Canadian resident (aka Kanadians Drink Free) so my inlaws who were in Insides were convinced by their awesome travel agent to upgrade to verandahs for only $300 more and their travel agent who already booked a verandah saved $800, then the KSF promo came out which saved SIL a couple hundred bucks so now she reallllly loves her travel agent ;) With 1 child the KSF wasn't a savings compared to 25% off but with 2 or more kids in the cabin you are laughing with KSF.

Im surprised the insides are sold out since the KSF was for verandahs.

Hey everyone! I have been meaning to post but to be honest, my head is about to explode!

FE's: My DD and I finished up the final details of the FEs and ran them against the list to make sure we had enough and for some reason I had extras! Then I remembered we lost a family AND I forgot to NOT count us!...lol.

Packing: I have things all over my bedroom to get packed and even have one of the suitcases already packed(FEs) but honestly, untill it is closer there is no point in packing because I am just going to go through the suitcases a hundred times seeing if I got everything. I have lists that would scare people! I am very anal about preparedness. Not sure why but I panic about things like this.

Excitement: My excitement is getting the better of me. I have done so many things to try to distract myself but by bed time it all comes rushing back to me. Stressing that I have budgeted enough, or that our flights won't have issues due to bad weather... It is a wonder my husband hasn't called the people with the rubber van and the love me jacket yet!

Pirate Night: I have just taken 4 plain white t shirts and added the iron on I posted way back! It is nothing special but that and the head scarves I got at Halloween will do us just fine.

KSF: We had booked the crusie months before the promotion and had a veranda room then. I just called Abraham and he sent me a refund! It was just that easy! We would be going and in a veranda room either way.

Nachi Cocom: Yes, my family will be there! I was hoping we could set up a time that everyone wants to go and see about sharing taxis both for cost and security reasons. I won't have time to go shopping though if you ladies are going at 3ish. I have a couples massage with DH @ 5:30ish.

Q: What kind of vehicles do Disney characters drive?
A: Minnie Vans!

:lmao:

Hey...you said "tell me a joke" not "tell me a FUNNY joke."

I too, am freaking out. I think my eyes were bigger than my ambition when it came to planning FE's and now I am running around like a wild woman trying to get everything put together. Good thing I work well under pressure!

o i am so with you there, if all goes well i will complete the FEs on Wednesday night with a little help from MIL.

sorry if this sounds wrong, but could yall recap the meets and such for us newbies that dont want to go thru the 92 pages to find it :D

hope i have it right:
first day 3pm in Promenade lounge
after that 9:30am and pm cove cafe/diversions very informal show up if u want and go from there
Wed. & Thurs also a 3pm meet for shopping in Cozumel and scavenger hunt results

something like that anyways

Welcome everyone! Very excited!

Got fish extenders in the mail today. I misspelled something BUT I think I can redo the labels as they weren't stuck on (thankfully!). So excited!

Yesterday got some fabric for the actual FE. DD wanted pink Minnie stuff but not sure my husband would ever come back to the room. Ended up with blue Little Mermaid fabric...at least it is blue and somewhat "sea"/cruise like, right? I knew buying it would be around the same price but DH would freak about another expense...this way it just looks like a craft store purchase.

Would love to do the 5K but been sick since October. DH is on third antibiotic. We both planned to run/walk it together but not ready. Next time...already pushing to book another future cruise onboard.

wow u two are still not feeling well? I sure hope you are better by the cruise so you can enjoy it. do u still have the flu or is yours more just morning sickness?

I'm in! The only thing with setting a pre-arranged time is - will it just be a "cards on these days at these times and show up if you want to play" kind of thing? I wouldn't want to commit and then have something else come up (like a wine tasting...tequila tasting...martini tasting...beer tasting...what? ) and leave anyone hanging.

DH and SIL found a navigator yesterday with all the alcohol tastings and are now very excited for sea days. will be interesting to see what shape they will be in after all that. I am looking at the Martini and Margarita ones though! only ones i think DH wasnt interested in so if he comes back from them in any shape to keep up with a 2 year old i may check them out :thumbsup2

One more thing......I would REEEEEEALLY love to do the Castaway Cay 5K!! I wanted to train more than I have.....but truthfully, when I did all the reading up, it looks as though it's all of the time only RUNNERS, and that if you walk/run it alone, that the route is not well marked and you may get a little lost near the the abandoned runway, so I got scared and quit actively training for it! (Prob the reverse of what I should have done....?)

THAT BEING SAID----I would still reeally love to do it if we could get a group together from our group, so that if we DID get a little lost, it wouldn't be so scary!

From what I've read, a small blurb is usually printed in the Navigator the day before CC, and that participants meet down at the gangway at 8:30am, complete the 5K, and receive a certificate (not always!) afterwards, or in their stateroom later that day. I just think it'd be cool to say I did it!! Anyone else willing to walk, then jog, then walk, then jog, walk it with me?!? I'm thinking I'd just send my swimsuit with my DH and meet them on the beach right afterwards.

Anyone? :flower3:

i can't commit yet but am interested in walk/running (mostly walking)

Alexis and other potential 5K participants......I was just looking at some old navigators, and they definitely have it listed as a 5K RUN, and they only allot 30 minutes for it. It's going to take me 45. Everyone still OK with me "wogging" (walk/jogging) along? Meet at the gangway at 8:30am, and the folks onboard start disembarking at 9am. Woo hoo!! Castaway Cay!
And Alexis......."suspected over-imbiber?" HILARIOUS!

But GiddyRhino.....your post about bingo ("over-camomilled grannies?") FREAKING KILLED ME!!!!! I busted out laughing!! Pretty sure I won't be hitting up any bingo games....but your description sure was funny!

Thanks to Melissa&Shawn for listing "the jist" of the meets. I'll pop into the Cove Cafe at 9:30am a couple times on Sea Days and see who I can find!

I sure wish they'd post some more recent navigators- it's killing me for the clothing Ziplocs! My Alaska Airlines cruise rep told me that my son's bday (Key West) is also formal night when I called to request a bday cake for him- and I don't see that matching up anywhere?!?! Anyone else know? :confused3

My DH must think I'm crazy still sitting up scanning these boards!

Right now, actually, I'm re-reading Kelli's TR from last January! Just finished Day 4 in Cozumel, and Kelli, I know you headed back to the ship for your Vista Spa appt.....but what is everyone who's going to Nachi planning to do? I'd like to get right out there to the beach, but I'd like to get back soon enough to have a quick Rita at Margaritaville!! It's the Parrothead tour! Def want to get a full day of sand in though.....man, I hope it's somewhat warm!!!

Lynn.....I'm bringing pirate costumes for my two DS- but DH and I won't be wearing anything "pirate-ish." I may wear a flowy rust colored skirt and a black top---will I look like a wench? ;) Last time, I made DH wear this HUGE Pirates of the Caribbean hat that spoke: "Dead Men Tell No Tales..........!!" His cousin was also wearing one- but now that it's just the 4 of us, no go. Oh well. pirate: My kids were a NIGHTMARE on Pirate Night in Feb 2008, so they didn't even get to go to the Party.....I'm so hoping we all make it this time!

I was under the impression that they give you an hour to complete the run...I don't know alot of people who can do it in 30 minutes. I have read though that towards the end of the run the runners do have to make their way through the crowd of people getting off the ship. I still want to do it.

I seriously doubt that formal night is Key West day. We are in port unitl 7:30pm. I was under the impression that formal night was the first sea day which would be Monday.
