Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

Sorry I can't chat more often. I only have internet access at work(shh, don't tell my boss!) Don't worry, maybe some of us "quiet ones" will get a little louder as the cruise approaches. Glad you all are having fun chatting though. It does make the time go faster!:goodvibes

Your secret is safe with me! lol

I am just a chatter thats all. I live in a VERY small town and most of my contacts here are family. It's just nice to have someone other than family to chat with! And I am so very excited about the trip and love learning new things about the people I will be traveling with. LOL My husband says I am just nosy...lol. :littleangel:

yeah we are definitley going to be in for the Margaritta tasting this time.

And maybe we will do the beer tasting too but i am not a beer drinker but i think DH would really like it.

How does the tastings work on DCL? On NCL we just showed up at the designated time but I think I read from another post that you have to sign up ahead of time? I don't want to miss the yummy margs!

Does anyone know if and where the sign up is the the character breakfast and tea party thing is? Also two things I'm sure my girls will enjoy and don't want to miss.

Sorry, I have communicated alot, but I am very excited about our trip and have been reading what everyone has been writing. This is my first Disney cruise and I am trying to learn as much as I can. I would also like to know when that tea is and if you have to sign up.

Kaylee-9 :cutie:

But how many of these people are still here? I know of a few that are no more and IrishCowboy is a moderator. I don't see alot of chat from alot of the posted people. Mostly just the 8 of us. This makes me sad :sad1:. I wish more people would come chat with us!

I pop in and read every day, I'm just shy about posting comments myself  I've always been more of a sit back and listen kind of person...drives my husband nuts because he is so outgoing. We balance each other out that way

It makes me glad that you all are such a friendly bunch, makes me look forward to the cruise even more!

This is what I was told by someone else that has cruised Disney but since i haven't i dont know for sure so correct me if i am wrong

Everyone gets a character breakfast and you will find out when that is when you check in. The tea party is limited space so upon boarding the ship go to the pursers desk(i think?) and ask to sign your girls up for the tea party.

Last time we just all met there. There wasn't anything else going on. I liked meeting there because we could get a drink there, but maybe we could plan to meet there and if it's being used for something else, or just too busy, plan to go to the deck on 7?

RE: scavenger hunt. I was planning on "prizes" for all the kids who do the hunt. What would you suggest doing for that?

so for prizes we could make a little lute bags with some candy and different disney stuff like playing cards, stickers etc. I guess it kinda depends on the age range as 3 year olds and 15 year olds may not get excited about the same things. I will try and think of some ideas and will pm you my email address so we can brain storm.

I hope no one took my comment the wrong way. :( I just know we have lost a family or 2 from what Kelli told me and was hoping we didn't loose any more. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. For the quieter, shy people, IRL I am actually a shy, to myself kind of person(I know, hard to believe) but I tend to open up more when I can't see people...lol. My husband is usually the life of the party. I guess since I am more a computer person, that is where I shine!

I hope we have a great Meet! I am looking forward to meeting some new people!

Hi guys. Sorry, we've been really sick. This is my 8th day of being in bed and I even mentioned to DH that I would rather be sent to the hospital so I can relax and just take meds than run around after DD2 who doesn't understand her Mommy and Daddy are sick. Thankfully DH got antibotics and feels better than I do and is taking a bunch of the work. Will be back on more often soon.....and soon will hopefully have some good news. :)

being sick sucks Melissa hope your feeling better soon. thought maybe it was morning sickness until u said DH was sick to and usually morning sickness isnt contagious ;) hope its nothing serious

Let me think.... When we did the Wine tasting.
We did not reserve ahead of time. WEll like an hour ahead of time. Not days.
We saw it in the Navigator and decided we wnted to do it.
You go to the "purser" "information" cant remember the real name of that desk. And you tell them and they charge it to your room and they give you a ticket the ticket you take to the tasting.

THE CHARACTER BREAKFAST........YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY SIGNED UP FOR, you basically can opt out if you want....we have gone twice didnt go last time.
You will get the ticket in your room on your desk when you arrive. You dont have a choice of times or days...it just is when it is.

THe tea with tinkerbell or snow white sory dont remeber which character .... neve done that one but have wanted to.

I guess because the scavenger hunt on board was already in place when i got here and i lazily did not read back through the thread....
I dont know what the scavenger hunt entails. If we are meeting at a place and doing it all together is this the one that you are giving out and we do it at our liesure,,,, i am a bit confused and hadnt asked i dont always like to look like i dont understand whats going on:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can be dense at times.....:hippie:

When we did a DIS trick or treat we gave at giant goodi bags at the end.
We each brought items already bagged up enough for each child no matter if it was just some candy or something else and at a designated time we took it to the ladies room in charge and she filled larger gift bags with the items....
The kids got a huge loot of things it was pretty cool.
But that was a holiday.

But you could do that or a smaller scale if very one brought just one brought one small item then you could have a tiny gift bag at the end.

But once again..........as always........I am down for ANYTHING!!!:thumbsup2

Dh 40th bday was yesterday.
He picked a horrible restaurant i woke up with my stomach growling...
Oh well only 40 once!!!

WE are taking off on motorcycle today just for a day out we wont be far from home....HAPPILY you dont have to be fr from home here to do a lot of different stuff.

The beach is 5 mins away. going there first to take walk then maybe bonnet house and los olas and lunch on the beach and passed port everglades see what ships are in.

Have a great day Ya'll....
Maybe i will try to take the time and take soem pics today and post them later have nt done that in a awhile.

TTFN

Kelli

Maybe we could set up a night or 2 for specific club, bar, party spot...
Like the 80s night or the adult karoke....

Whatever every one who wants to join likes.......

Maybe we could look at some current navigators and get a clue what is going on.

That sounds like a good plan to me... Hopefully someone on a cruise coming up will post some new Navigators.

Happy 100 days till cruisin'!!!!!!

I am up for setting times/places onboard to go if you want to play cards or hang out for each day and if anyone shows great, but if no one shows it really doesn't matter. For example, the deck beside the Goofy pool every day at 10:00 am for whatever. Or every evening at 10:00 pm at <insert random bar/lounge location here>. Just my 2 cents worth.

Have a GREAT DAY! :cheer2: :yay:  :cool1:

I think that would work great. Just see who shows up and go from there... :)

I was just suggesting a place that IF people want to meet up we can and then go from there. I won't know what i am doing till I am doing it and I don't really want to have to have a schedule on vacation if I don't have to. That is why I suggested a general meet time/place if people want to get together. I know there are a few things on board I want to do like the mate match, wine tasting, galley tour and then whatever the kids want to do. I want to chase hubby to a beer tasting as well so that will give me some free time. I hope I can bring enough books to keep me entertained...lol. I am down to my last 4! Time to go shopping again!

Agreed!

Are most of them little shots of yummy goodness???:goodvibes:goodvibes

There were 4 (?) shots of different grades of tequila and 2 different mixers and 2 flavored margaritas in the tasting and somewhere in there the CM has someone(s) come up and do a boilermaker with beer & tequila. That was NOT me! :rotfl: There was one mixer that was kind of like bloody mary mix that I thought would be vile but I REALLY liked!

I've seen pix of the beer tasting and it looks like you get about a half kegs worth of beer! I wish I liked beer because it looks like the best bargain on the ship!

Okay, I demand a recount!! I have been sick as dogs for the last few days and have just gotten on board. As you can probably tell, I am now trying to regain my #1 status! :lmao:

But how many of these people are still here? I know of a few that are no more and IrishCowboy is a moderator. I don't see alot of chat from alot of the posted people. Mostly just the 8 of us. Ok, end of ramble. Have a great 99 Days till cruisin'!!!

Hopefully, the closer we get, the more they will come to check in! If not, we will still have a fabulous 97 days til we cruise!!!!!!

If you go to Guest Services you can get tickets to the tastings, Tea with Alice/Mad Hatter and galley tour. The tastings usually have a $5 charge. We will definitely do the margarita, martini & wine tastings. We did wine tasting last time and they show you swording, which is when you open a bottle of champagne with a sword. I keep meaning to get a cheap bottle and try it myself!

Oops! Forgot to address the character breakfast and tea party thing! Everyone gets a character breakfast. It will be on a certain day and it will be there with your dining assignment. Tea party is only on sea days...
