***Offical August 2025 Thread***

I booked my LLs this morning too, just SPs and mostly for Cosmic Rewind 😂. Had no issues getting the times I wanted. I also paid off the last little balance I had on the CR stay from when I upgraded to TPV so I am all paid up.

Got some extra fun money too since JetBlue is having a fall flash sale and I was able to cancel and rebook my flight home from Vegas. Saved over $1k on a Mint seat!

Got back on 8/20. Great trip! Even though our POP room was what we expected...we LOVED the Lion King family suite at AOA. Weather was HOT. We knew going in it was going to be hot but we were under heat advisories where it was feeling like 109. Downpours/thunderstorms almost every day. Took an umbrella as opposed to a poncho which worked great since I can't stand being in a poncho. Crowds were okay. MNSSHP day at MK was amazing.

This past trip may be my last in 2 to 3 years. The value proposition has always been questionable but the amount of construction is just too much. Animal kingdom was Everest Dinosaur and done. safari was 60 min at 10am.
I also noticed security is becoming a little aggressive. I saw a mother and her little girl...all dressed to the 9s...get pulled aside and the little girl was given the extra wanding. I couldn't believe that. Such a magical start to a park visit. Might just be tired...drove this time. And it was blazing .but getting tired of the construction walls and now security with what I saw.
I did take advantage of Magic on a party night. Never fails and crowds were low.
Cast members were still amazing.
One last rant...the folks who run to the right on Guardians for the perceived advantage...please stop.

Just 2 days of work to get through...just 2 more days! I did a crap ton of laundry this weekend and I'm making my kids pull out the clothes they want to wear. Our flight leaves at 6am on Weds and there is sooooo much to do between now and then. But it will be totally worth it!

You mean you aren't packed yet?! We've been packed up for a day or two - just last minute bits and bobs.

Last day of work and I'm leaving 2 hours early.
We fly out tomorrow afternoon - it will be so nice not having to get up super early for a flight and only losing 1 hour instead of 3 hours. I usually fly in from CA but recently moved to Texas. Shorter flight, less time lost - wonderful!
We ordered a big delivery from Walmart for our room but it was cancelled because of 'policy review'. I didn't want to risk it again as I read online it's been happening and then it takes days to get the pending charge cleared out, so we're going to do Target delivery instead.

It's the start of soccer season here and so much going on with school, activities, etc. It was a miracle that I got the clothes clean. Plan on packing most stuff up tonight, but I still have to work 8 hours today and tomorrow as well. Not easy being a single parent and doing all the things, but it'll be worth it on Weds when we are spending the day at SAB.

I leave tomorrow too and I’m not packed yet either. This time of year is really hard for me though. Luckily I am still mostly packed from last month’s trip as far as Disney specific things (ears, loungeflys etc). I just need to throw clothes in cubes.

Safe travels everyone!

We arrived on Monday. Flight was delayed, so pushed back our check-in and arrival to Typhoon Lagoon H2O Glow. We made the best of it though, and enjoyed our time there. DD’s favorite part was the last hour in the wave pool. They sent out the big waves every few minutes, and didn’t alternate with the other option. She had a blast!

Last night was MNSSHP, another fun night. It was sold out, and felt busy, but not unmanageable. Wait times fluctuated throughout the night, so we ended up doing a lot of zig-zagging rather than waiting in long lines.

Today is an EPCOT day, and we fly home tomorrow.

Overall the resort and parks do not seem as crowded as when we were here last on Spring Break. Late August might be the new Summer fave! In previous years we’ve visited over July 4th, and mid-August. I’d love to come in June, but schedule doesn’t allow.

For packing up, I am a last minute person. I prefer to do everyone’s laundry the day before we leave, and pack what we need as it comes out of the dryer. That way I’m coming home to minimal dirty laundry. Then I pack all of my toiletries on departure day as I get ready. Disney specific items stay in a bin in my closet, so easy to pull from depending on the season and need. I usually pull that out a day or two ahead, and make sure devices are charged and MBs updated. This trip was planned less than 2 weeks out! Not how I usually do it, but wanted to seize the day.

I'm back from my two week trip - had tons of fun, great weather and good times.
Really enjoyed our suite at Royal Pacific at Universal but WOW, the disney difference is so noticeable. We switched to Boardwalk (DVC) for our second week and there was a big difference.

What were some of the noticeable differences? We’ve never stayed at Universal, and it’s been years since I’ve visited. Kids have never gone. Curious to hear how it compared, and if we’d be better making UO a day trip from WDW.

Wed planned to leave on Thursday Aug 28, but stayed another day to have a park day at AK and HS (DD’s pick!). We ended up referring to our trip as the rollercoaster tour!

Overall am very pleased with our trip. Yes, it was hot, but no worse than any other time we’ve been in the Summer. Small handheld misting fans were a godsend during a blazing hot mid day walk around World Showcase. We lucked out with cloudy weather at other times, and even got caught in a heavy downpour at HS. It was intense, but we ponchoed up and made our way from TT to MMRR.

I do feel for those who were in the parks on August 29th for the massive power outage. I haven’t been on DIS to read reports, but can only imagine 💔

Here's a few - I've asked the family chat to share their thoughts in case I missed anything and will add that on later when I hear back from them.

Universal - Loews Royal Pacific
Pros

1. As a regular hotel, we got housekeeping every day.
2. Several food options in the hotel
- quick service at Tuk Tuk w/ grab and go options as well, Jack's American Bar and Orchid Lounge were all in the lobby.
3. 2 bedroom suite had THREE full bathrooms - loved it! Only bathroom w/ a tub was in the 2 queen room so my sister had to bathe the twins there and then they would waddle on over to the King bed room to get dressed.
4. Ability to text concierge any questions or request things is amazing. They were very quick to reply and send over any requested items - i.e. high chairs and playpens.
5. Having unlimited express for Universal Studios & IOA is great! Will love it more if/when Epic is added.

Cons -
1. Loews will not accept perishable items on your behalf (learned that this trip)

I got a text from the delivery person, as I'm trying to get off the plane, that Loews won't accept the order. The concierge person got on the chat and said they don't accept perishables and guests have to be there to get them from the delivery person. I told her I was trying to get off my plane and wouldn't be there for an hour so would they please help me out. She said she would make a one-time exception.
The same happened w/ my sister's order and they left the whole order outside by the bellman - this included 1.5 gallons of MILK and several boxes of yogurt pouches in high temp heat. Thankfully we arrived about 30 min after that delivery arrived and bellman were keeping an eye on it.
2. There was some sort of leaking or drainage in our 2 queen room of the suite that made the carpet next to the A/C vent went. Initially it was just damp, but later on it was more noticeable. I never had time to bring it up to the hotel as we were in/out each day very early. I would just place a hand towel on that spot. As it was carpeted, it wasn't a slipping hazard.
3. Remotes wouldn't work reliably - had to have the living room remote changed twice.
4. TVs are outdated - Nothing on the resort TVs for younger kids to watch. Obviously no Disney channel and other than that there was PBS - great in the morning while getting read or Nick, which we don't like. I couldn't airplay/stream to the TVs either.
5. If you order to go food from one of the resort's restaurants - they will charge you a gratuity fee WHEN YOU ARE PICKING UP THE FOOD & TAKING IT TO GO! Absurd.

Disney:
Pros
1. Disney will accept & hold perishable items - they even have refrigeration available for it.
When we arrived at Disney, we did another order of perishables and I already knew they would accept the order and refrigerate it for us. They called me and thankfully we were in the room as they were asking if I'd like it brought up to the room now. I didn't even have to ask to have it brought up.
2. Bell services CMs were fast and courteous getting our luggage loaded and later taken to our room.
3. TVs in each room are newer - can stream to any of them, we connected our Disney+ for the kids so they could watch bluey and Kim Possible - KP is a huge hit with the girls ages 5, 8, 11 and the ALL the kids love Bluey so that was a sanity keeper as kids waited for their turn in the shower/bath at night.
4. HUGE tub in the 1 bedroom bathroom with a separate shower/toilet was very helpful. Twins could get bathed while someone else showered on the other side.
5. Studio was large enough to have my ECV in the entry way without blocking the door or bathroom area so I could charge it overnight and leave easily.
6. Having pack n plays already in the king bedroom, being able to bring up high chairs for the twins.

Cons
- I'm DVC so this is very specific to that
1. No daily housekeeping and it sucks when you're a large group. We had to ask for towels every day as we were 9 bodies. I tried having the kids hang up towels but it didn't stick LOL
2. Washer/dryer are VERY loud and the dryer takes several cycles to dry. The detergent didn't leave the clothes smelling super clean so next time we'd bring our own detergent.
3. Having to leave the building to refill my mug at the boardwalk Deli. This is a huge disadvantage to the Boardwalk Villas and I'll never understand why they didn't make their QS accessible from inside the resort. Even if I had to walk over to the Inn side, I would have preferred that. Neither the QS or Screendoor (their general/merch store) have access from inside the resort, you have to head out to the boardwalk.
4. Joffrey's In room coffee and coffee in the parks is terrible - so weak and watery; we were going to Sbux every day b/c idk what they're thinking saying Joffrey's is good coffee.
