Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

How would y'all feel about handing out the scavenger hunt at our meet that first day, let everyone do it (we would do 1 family one) whenever they want to and set a meet on the 2nd sea day to see who finished, found the most, etc.? Lokkabear had that idea and I really think it's a good one! :worship: That way no one would have to miss anything they really wanted to do and you wouldn't have to worry about scheduling around a long group activity...

That sounds like a good plan to me.;)

Sounds great to me!

i think that is a great plan and the promenade lounge sounds good. do we need to arrange it with Disney at all? I know last time i sailed with Princess there was a cruise critic meet and they actually closed a lounge for them so would hate to see us plan something and find out when we get there that someone else also had the same plan and we were out of luck.

Kelli please let me know if u need any help with organizing the scavenger hunt. since i havent been on the ship i dont know how much help i will be at coming up with things to find specific to the ship but have particpated other cruise line hunts. I could also make and or buy some prizes if you would like.

Kelli has the list of people that want to meet but not sure if she has a time or location. I am not familiar with the ship as this is my very frist crusie ever! so I won't be much help as to where but when I think should be about a half hour or hour before the drill. This gives us time to meet but not too much time that we miss anything else. I was checking out some info on the secret deck 7 and if that was garunteed not to be taken, that would be a great place to meet! But since we can't be sure, does anyone else have a location that would work?

I haven't heard of this secret deck 7. what did you learn?

3 cruises never been to the secret deck.......guess i will have to just go check it out this time.

RE: Meet Okay so being slack, I have not put out any ideas for times yet. So here goes... I figure the first day we could have a general "get to know you" meet around 3:00 in the promenade lounge. Plenty of space there and not a bunch of people there at that time... Have to be done by 3:45 or so to be able to get back to cabins, get life jackets on and go to the drill at 4:00. I was thinking we could also set up a couple on sea days to play cards or whatever. What do y'all think? Do we want to do the sea days ones in the morning or afternoon? I am open to any and all suggestions...

My only thoughts and suggestions...
1. We can do a meet in the terminal, just in case some do not want to meet on the ship. I mean we have nothing but time while we are in the terminal.
2. My only thoughts on meeting in the Promenade lounge is what will the kiddos do .... If we met out by one of the pools the kids can swim or watch the dumbotron or play ping pong or run around....Doesnt matter to me my kids may or may not go to the meet any way.
3. I def want to play some cards or just hang out morning would be better for me.....of the 2 but would also like to do some hanging out after dinner, cards or beat street or whereever!!

RE: shipboard scavenger hunt So we are planning on 1 for kids/family and 1 for adults, or we could just do a kids/family one. Anyone want to chime in on the best day/time to do those?

Let me know what y'all want to do!! :grouphug:

Kelli

, afternoon may not be good either since nobody wants to miss a nice afternoon out in the sun. :cool2: So I guess that means that either would be fine. Maybe one of each!! :confused3
The one on the first day sounds like a good plan.:cool1:

Do you think in January it is going to be sunny enough to do tanning???
Oh i hope so!!!!

I think 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge is fine. That will give us "early birds" plenty of time to eat and explore the ship/check out our cabins. I think a family scavenger hunt would be best (and easier for you - I know you've spent a lot of time on the terminal hunt). Maybe after lunch for the hunt would be best, since there are the character breakfasts and Palo brunch to contend with in the AM.

Thank you for taking care of all these things, Kelli. Let me know if you need help with anything.

I ordered the boys each a DCL pin on Ebay the other day for their Xmas surprise. They still have no idea of what we have planned, although I feel bad that Jason keeps telling me which rides he can't wait to do when we go to WDW in January. :rotfl: Enjoy your day!!

Kelli - your scavenger hunt idea sounds great!
I also like the idea of a meet or two at nighttime, after the kids are in bed asleep. DH and I plan to take turns staying in the room with them so the one of us who gets that night to be out and about might really appreciate knowing some other folks to hang out with in a club, etc for a bit..

I would love to get together for evening(if I can stay awake) and hubby and I are pretty confident the kids will be fine on their own either in bed or at the clubs. Count me in for getting together for something in the evenings!

Last time we just all met there. There wasn't anything else going on. I liked meeting there because we could get a drink there, but maybe we could plan to meet there and if it's being used for something else, or just too busy, plan to go to the deck on 7?

RE: scavenger hunt. I was planning on "prizes" for all the kids who do the hunt. What would you suggest doing for that?

Meets: So should we set up a time & place to meet at night if anyone is interested and we'll just see who shows up? And morning ones? If yes on morning ones, just sea days or all days for anyone not going ashore?

I think we should set up times for morning every day.......
Even though we have a balconey i loke to go to the cove in the morning we could do coffee together if people so desire.

I WILL BE IN MY PJS!!!!

I like to go to the cove and sit for a spell then go get breakfast for kids and take to rooma nd then i can sit on balconey while we get the day started.

Although i am going to try and sleep in a bit more than i normally do so i can stay up and play for a while after dinner.
having late dinner has great advantages of not having to stop mid way through day to get ready for dinner but the disadvantage is eating that late at night seems to make me a bit sleepy maybe i will have a 5 hour shot right before dinner!!!

UP GAME FOR ANY AND ALL!!!!!!

Kelli

Maybe we could set up a night or 2 for specific club, bar, party spot...
Like the 80s night or the adult karoke....

Whatever every one who wants to join likes.......

Maybe we could look at some current navigators and get a clue what is going on.

Happy 100 days till cruisin'!!!!!!

I am up for setting times/places onboard to go if you want to play cards or hang out for each day and if anyone shows great, but if no one shows it really doesn't matter. For example, the deck beside the Goofy pool every day at 10:00 am for whatever. Or every evening at 10:00 pm at <insert random bar/lounge location here>. Just my 2 cents worth.

Have a GREAT DAY! :cheer2: :yay:  :cool1:

These are all good ideas.
:idea:My only thought is that it is hard to know what one plans on doing for the entire week. Set up one or two "official" meets and then it can be discussed what's everyone's plans for the next couple of days. For example if we all meet on the first day then we can discuss what is going on for the next day and where everyone would like to meet up. Does this make sense?:confused3
If someone knows where they will be everyday at a certain time they certainly can let us all know and that way we know where to find them if we want some company.
But I do like the idea of meeting for evening gatherings in the bars/lounges, it's always more fun with a group of people.:dance3::dance3:
Whatever everyone decides is great either way. I'll be there!:cloud9:
