Jan 2009 Code Watch

Did you get an AP rate for Poly? I've called twice today and can't get anything other than Garden View concierge and that's too expensive...

Yes I just called, right around 2 pm, did not notice that the dates were out until a little while ago. I was quoted (incl tax) $1146 for garden, $1630 for lagoon and over $1800 for theme park view. All of these are the Poly resort.

I am over the moon because when I called on Sunday before we checked out of the BWI the garden room at the Poly was $1341 and DH said forget it stick with POP

But when I called him to report I could save another $200 he had a change of mind and said go for it.

Now our trip will be perfect if they announce Pirate and Princess Parties for January!

WOW...GF is sold out for my dates...here's hoping whatever code comes out I can apply it to my ressie already :confused3

Not sold out of rooms, just sold out for DISCOUNTED rooms. I inquired about GF garden room with a code and no room, without a code poof a room appears

It doesn't mean the resort is sold out, just the # of rooms they have set aside for that particular promotion. I think they will have a separate set of rooms available with the Visa promo when it hits.

I didn't call I just checked availability on the website and I don't have an AP. Maybe they are holding rooms...not sure but I can't believe its sold out at least right now and YC has been for a month since I've been checking YC/BC too :confused3

Pretty, pretty please, Disney powers-that-be, give us a PP&P! I planned this trip 9 months ago based on taking my DS to one.

Poly GV is coming up $259 w/AP discount. So tempting but I saved the money and chose WL.

Good for you! I'm not getting as lucky! I've called now 3 times... and still only concierge. hmph!

I'm an AP holder and just called to see if they could adjust my rate at the GF for the two nights I'm booked for before we move to BCV. The only rooms available at that discount were club level 1 bd suite ($2848 for two nights) or theme park view for $920.26 for two nights.

I had them check the Contemporary and we got a MK view for two nights for $751.50 (saving us $140 from our existing GF rate).

I have never stayed at a deluxe and I can't wait for the MK view!!!!!!!

I almost wish we weren't moving to DVC on the Monday but I want to show my DH the difference between deluxe resort and DVC since I want to own DVC and he is on the fence.

Okay you guys are freaking me out!!! So basically if I'm not up (and if I wake up, so do my girls) at 5 a.m. my time to call on the day the general public code comes out...then by the time I DO call there might be nothing left????

I have never considered DDP. Is it expensive and is it figured according to which resort you are staying at? Can you cancel it without penalty if you change your mind and still keep your AP room discount?

The ddp is expensive, but I think that dining in Disney is pretty expensive anyhow and that ddp is actually a good value.

They don't calculate it based on your resort, it's based on the plan you want - regular, deluxe, + wine, or (for 2009) counter service.

As long as your discount is for the room only and not a package discount, you should be able to cancel without penalty.

I totally recommend adding the dining to your reservation. It makes for a better experience & you don't worry so much about what everything costs b/c you already paid.

Check out the dining part of this board & they'll tell you everything you need to know.

Most likely something will be there, but maybe not your first choice. Always plan a back up resort when booking a code.

Where will the disney visa code be posted for me to have it when I call? Or can I just call at 7am and say I want the visa discount?

What date is the general code supposed to be released? I'm scheduled for the POP 1/08-1/11 and I've called three times with no luck on an AP rate. A friend called to tell me about it and SHE got it!! grrrrrr

So do you have to call to find out which resorts a code will apply to? Or is that info posted somewhere?

If it's something related to tickets or dining, though, will those "run out" too?

Right now I have an AP poly package with deluxe dining. I really don't want to dump the dining, but I'd love to save some $$$.

So, do I change that in hopes of adding dining later?

Do I keep it in hopes of a discount later?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

For those of you who talked w/ the CMs about the "dining package" and said that some codes for AP packages w/ dining would be out soon...

what exactly did they mean? I have my nights reserved w/ the AP rate that came out this morning...I was told it was no problem to add dining up to 6 days before the check in. Would the new codes give a discount for dining as well as the room or is just a code w/ the room discount already publicized along w/ the regular dining cost??

Any info from those who talked w/ CMs about dining would be great...

I don't have a clue about the upcoming dining packages for AP but I am waiting w/ you! However, if you have the deluxe dining plan already and do not have ressies for your meals by now then I would not waste my $$ on the deluxe...I would go w/ the regular. If you have all your ressies then I would wait a few more days and see what is offered...

I will say this...we had the Free Dining in Sept. and upgraded to Deluxe...and I swore it would not be too much food but it was. We spent alot of time in the restaurants but we didn't feel it toooo much b/c the crowds were low. You are in a different boat if you go during a high crowd time...I would check crowd levels and let that help me decide where I want to spend my time. Long lines plus long dinners equals not as much fun...kwim?? Just a thought!

Honestly, you can't go wrong w/ too much food though...ha! :goodvibes

I would rebook under the AP rate (if you can get it for your room type), I would keep all of my adrs, and I would wait until tomorrow or next week to call again and add the dining portion onto your booking.

About talking with them on the dining codes....here's what I know... Basically I asked to add dining to my reservation and at the time my cm said that the only code that would work for dining on my reservation would be the counter service only dining plan.
Then, she looked again and said that she had a code there for regular dining plan for passholders for the dates of the AP rates in Jan and early Feb. She tried to use that code and it didn't work. So she advised me to go ahead and book the room only at the AP rate and call back to add dining at a later time.
Others on this post have said tomorrow for dining, so I'll call tomorrow, but I definitely know that something is coming out soon, otherwise why would she have those dining codes for those dates?

Seems to me that the codes have been created but maybe not loaded or made live yet. I can't tell you exactly when they will be loaded. I just know from my phone conversation that the codes exist. ;) I will be checking the AP site and also calling regularly for the next week in the attempt to add dining to my reservation.

Whenever I am able to do so, I will surely let everyone here know!

Hi jenjersnap - How did you get such a great rate at WL? Was it an AP rate? I have a standard view booked there in Jan for $240/night right now. Ouch.

Yes, AP rates for WL are very good right now. They just came out today.
