Jan 2009 Code Watch

subbing

We just saved $223 on our four night stay at PORS with AAA. It was supposed to be $670 we got it for $536. We joined AAA just to get that rate. They had AAA rates available for Pop as well. Have not talked with AAA yet about their pkgs.

Can I add more discounts to that rate!! Like if I joined Visa, could I get both discounts or just pick from the two? I also got an e-mail pin but it was for 2008. I had ordered everything free I could get from their Disney.. maps, dvd. We can't got until Jan. Also, does disney always come out with codes for spring?

I also am obsessed with getting this trip for the cheapest I can. I am going to love Disney but I will love it even more if I can save a few bucks.

Okay..few questions:

Are the Fort Wilderness cabins combinable with a package deal? I know I looked into them a ways back for free dining and they weren't eligible for whatever reason.

Last years Jan pin code: I know there was a free ticket upgrade but was there an additional discount worked in..as in towards the room rate?

A question for Fl residents: If I book a package (to get dining), I'll likely book a one day pass and upgrade at the gate. I'm almost positve the four day play ticket is available at the gate (tho I think in the past it was a preorder item only)...is the 3 day play pass available at the gate?

We're looking at Jan 16 thru 19. Planning to go with my dad and stepmom. We want to stay at pop but if there isn't a decent pin code coming out or if all the rooms manage to be booked up come November, we'll just stay at SOG.

I can't deal with the stress of booking and rebooking. I'm going on a family cruise next week that I've planned for over a year...I've had to make so many changes to our reservations that I'm just wore out. It gets old. And here I am trying to plan something with my dad...at least I know he won't backout on me like half my husbands family has managed to do in regards to this cruise.:sad2:

Okay boys and girls....I just made our ressies!!:woohoo: :cheer2:

Jan 24-Feb1---Polynesian. Now I have to print out park hours calendar to plan our days and get our ADRs!!!

Ooohhh I can make a new ticker as well!!!

Okay bear with me I have a few questions... trying to go as cheap as possible or we can't go at all.

I'm staying at ASMo Jan 24-31. Already booked it through Disney directly.

If I sign up with AAA, can I just call Disney and have them give me the discount? I don't want to have to cancel and rebook with AAA travel agent. Would the savings be worth it?

Also can I wait to see if a code is released and if not then sign up for AAA? My total isn't due to WDW until Dec. 10th.

Any advice from the veterans would be much appreciated!!! :worship:

You ccan call Disney and see if a AAA room discount is available with your room at your hotel. I made the mistake of going through a AAA TA. She's been good but I know she thinks I'm high maintenance because I've changed my mind a dozen times on where we want to stay :rotfl:
You can wait for the codes to be released but there is no way to say if AAA will have a room available at a discount by then. I'm trying to get into CR with my AAA and am having no luck right now so its just hit or miss. My TA says the rooms come and go into inventory just like they do with Disney so if its your lucky day you'll get what you want and if not hopefully if you keep checking it will come available.
Good luck whatever you decide!

I booked through AAA, ask for Misty. She was helpful, and has auctually STAYED at Disneyworld SEVERAL TIMES. (And don't we all know how helpful that can be.)

She was prompt, put up with checking prices for me on each ticket option, etc...

In the end, for 2 adults, PoP century, 10 Nights, 10 Days with park hopper and basic dining plan, we're paying $2220.00, which saved us about $150.00.

Hey, it's $150.00 I didn't have before.

She also said that if there was a code that did come out, she could apply it for us and take off the AAA discount.

It depends. (Don't you just love that kind of answer? :lmao: ) Do you have a room-only reservation, or a package? If it's room only, you can call Disney directly and ask them if you can apply the AAA discount to your existing reservation. There may not be any AAA rooms available anymore, but there just might be.

If you have a package, you must go through AAA to get the discount on the room portion of the package. You cannot book a AAA package through Disney itself.

To help with your choice, although it could be different this year:confused3 , we've found that the codes Disney traditionally offer save us more than AAA in January (on a package). We just book direct with Disney and add the code when they come out in Oct/Nov. We'll be at All-Star Movies Jan 21-28 and have stayed at there the last two Januarys. It’s a great place that screams Disney! Just the way we like it.

So here is another question:

How common is it to get codes or discounts? Can I bet on using one when they come out, or is it a hit or miss thing?

Well I guess I will skip the AAA discount b/c I already booked the package through Disney and don't want to have to go through all the hassle of canceling and hoping by chance I can get a discount through AAA.

I guess I'll just hope and pray I can get a code when they are released... although there sure seems like a lot of us looking for the same codes! :scared1: Hope they have enough rooms at the code discount for all of us! :woohoo:

I have already booked two rooms at the Pop for Jan 19-26,Room only. If the codes or pins that everyone is waiting for come out does anyone know if they will do us any good. We bought our tickets through the Disney Store at our Mall.

Can anyone be kind enough to tell me what the value resorts are running per night during value season with the aaa? Thanks!:goodvibes

We were quoted $313.68 for a 4 night stay at pop. So if my math is correct that comes out to $78.42/night. That was with tax. 1/24 - 1/28

Thanks guys! I guess I need to get my rear in gear and get something booked. We are just trying to decide to go back to Disney or go see the Christmas markets in Germany. :goodvibes Jenn

Just crossing my fingers and keeping my eyes wide open.....trying to make a Jan 09 trip happen, but I need some Disney magic :wizard: to make the decision easier!!!!

:goodvibes

Think lots of happy thoughts!!!!

Just booked AS Movies from Jan 1 through Jan 8, standard room, with Basic DDP, and 8 days of park tickets, no park hopper, no water park option. We're REALLY hoping for a deal, because last year we stayed at AKL for only 600 dollars more for the entire stay, and we'd love to go back there (we're HUGE boma fans) :cool1:

Oh, and we booked through Dreams Unlimited, same travel agent as last year--we had EXCELLENT cs through them!
