Wait, wasn't he under a gold/yellow blanket too?
Yeah.
Wait, wasn't he under a gold/yellow blanket too?
just an observation, just looking for opiniosn is all, not trying to stir up any fights.
but here's what i'm noticing, most of you are glad that she's being responsible and mature (as am i), but when the vanessa-anne hudgens nude picture scandal happened, most (and i say mostly, not EVERYONE) people freaked out and were disgusted. Alot of people said "she's lost a fan", but no one has really said that about Jamie-Lynn.
So I'm just looking for opinions, what do you guys think is the difference between Jamie-Lynn's pregnancy and Vanessa Anne's nude pics? Which is more acceptable/forgivable to you? Why do you think people have reacted so differently with these two situations?
Again, not pointing fingers, or say one if "worse" than the other,or trying to cause "drama" I'm really just curious to see what everyone's thoughts and opinions are on the comparison between the two...
I feel kinda bad for Jamie but any publicity is good publicity nowadays
In reply to Jamie v Vanessa
I think what they both did was semi-irresponsable. They will both suffer consequences. But they are young, teenagers learn from their mistakes. I am behind Jamie because she has another life to take care of. I wasn't appaled by Vanessa's pics. I agree they wern't the highlight of her career, but everyone makes mistakes.
Jamie messed up, oh well. I agree, teen mothers need a role model. Hopefully she can fill those shoes.
The fact of the matter is, teens are having unprotected sex. Teen mothers are everywhere, it is not uncommen. I praise her for announcing this herself, and for deciding to keep the baby.
Hopefully she can be a better mother that her sister is turning out to be. (I assume Britney will mature one day, and will fullfill her mothering duties.)

They are both pretty messed up.
Vanessa posed nude underage, and Jamie had sex underage.
Consuensual or not, wouldn't having sex with a 16 year old (when you're 19) actually be rape?It is not illegal to do either. It is illegal to take pictures of a minor if you are over 18 that would make you a child pornographer. It is also illegal to have sex with someone under the age of 18 when you are over the age of 18 as that would be statutory rape but it is not illegal to be in nude pictures (especially if you took them yourself like vanessa did) or have sex under the age of 18 (especially when it is consensual like Jamie Lynn).
There is no underage for either of these things. It is not like underage drinking.

Her punishment IS the baby!
I havent met ONE mature 16 year old who could possibly be ready for parenthood. Not one.
Anyways, I really hope the best for her and her new son/daughter.
Shelby, thats just how she feels about it. She doesn't have to agree with your views. Your making it sound like YOUR being the holier than thou.

I see...that's what I thought. It is called statutory rape because it is consensual. If it wasn't consensual it is rape regardless of age. Statutory rape was introduced as legal jargon in the late 1990s to define consensual sex between teens over 18 and teens under 18 since it became an increasingly large occurence.

I'm surprised nobody is pressing charges.
Okay, Lol, I don't know a ton about these type of things.I think only Jamie-Lynn or her parents can press charges calling it statutory rape. Since her parents let her live with him and she chose to sleep with him, I am thinking neither of those parties are going to press charges lol
You know which state they conceived their baby in? I've heard nothing about it. Last I read, the media didn't know.It could not be rape because of the state they did it in.
Lets just all hope Britney doesn't babysit.

Nope but my guess is Louisiana or California.Okay, Lol, I don't know a ton about these type of things.
