I'm glad that she's being responsible about it. If she ended up like her sister, I'd be sad.

But also- If she's 16 and her boyfriend/the father is 19...I'm fairly certain that constitutes rape. At least in NH, it is. The law here says that any person over the age of 18 engaging in illicit activities with anyone under the age of 18 (usually with an age gap of 3 years or more) is considered rape and the "victim's" parents may press charges. The age of consent in NH is 16, but if you're under 18 and your partner's over 18 your parents can still press charges.

but here's what i'm noticing, most of you are glad that she's being responsible and mature (as am i), but when the vanessa-anne hudgens nude picture scandal happened, most (and i say mostly, not EVERYONE) people freaked out and were disgusted. Alot of people said "she's lost a fan", but no one has really said that about Jamie-Lynn.

So I'm just looking for opinions, what do you guys think is the difference between Jamie-Lynn's pregnancy and Vanessa Anne's nude pics? Which is more acceptable/forgivable to you? Why do you think people have reacted so differently with these two situations?

Again, not pointing fingers, or say one if "worse" than the other,or trying to cause "drama" I'm really just curious to see what everyone's thoughts and opinions are on the comparison between the two...

I think what they both did was semi-irresponsable. They will both suffer consequences. But they are young, teenagers learn from their mistakes. I am behind Jamie because she has another life to take care of. I wasn't appaled by Vanessa's pics. I agree they wern't the highlight of her career, but everyone makes mistakes.

Jamie messed up, oh well. I agree, teen mothers need a role model. Hopefully she can fill those shoes.

It is not illegal to do either. It is illegal to take pictures of a minor if you are over 18 that would make you a child pornographer. It is also illegal to have sex with someone under the age of 18 when you are over the age of 18 as that would be statutory rape but it is not illegal to be in nude pictures (especially if you took them yourself like vanessa did) or have sex under the age of 18 (especially when it is consensual like Jamie Lynn).

There is no underage for either of these things. It is not like underage drinking.

I havent met ONE mature 16 year old who could possibly be ready for parenthood. Not one.

Anyways, I really hope the best for her and her new son/daughter.

so your saying that that poor child (the baby) has to suffer because of a mistake her mother made. The baby is not the punishment for the mother.
I'm not saying Jamie-Lynn made a mistake the baby is not a mistake. I'm saying what Jamie-Lynn did was kind of irresponsible. But I liked her before and now that I know about this I like her even more. She is handling this very well for being 16. And my cousin became a parent at the age 16. And she has been doing very well considering her dad tried to kick her out. it made her an even better person. and i look up to her now. She is the strongest person I know. And I think that Any teenage mother that can raise a child is a good person.

oh good question. i see exactly what your talking about. How V.A.N's nude pictures seemed like a lot worse that Jamie-Lynns pregnancy and this is how i see it. VAH, decided to take of her clothes and pose for a camera and allow for them to be put on the internet knowing that it would cause a scene. I think she did it to show everyone she's not the innocent little girl with a good voice and that she has grown up and is becoming a woman. And Jamie-Lynn she had sex with her boyfriend. I know a lot of people that do that. At least Jamie-Lynn came out and told everyone before it became a big thing and rumors started about it.

I like both of them, they both just made dumb decisions and they both are paying for them. Its the consiquinces of their decisions. I dont think any less of either of them but like I said they just made bad choices
