VAgal76: Are those picture views from the Presidential Suite? I've been wondering if the view from that suite is obstructed by the rock formation.

You have a good eye. :teeth: Yes, those were from the suite. I wouldn't have used them, but they are some of the better ones we have from the lodge as far as surroundings go. I have some of the actual suite and the other room we had in Feb.

That is some cool scrapbooking stuff. :thumbsup2

That pic of the entire lodge shows me why I was so pooped after going from end to another. :rotfl:

Gosh you have me so excited about my first trip to AKL. That was a very helpful post. Now tell me, how am I going to make the next 28 days go by quickly? :thumbsup2

Okay I forgot I had this picture until tonight. It isn't mine, but I found it somewhere on the web. I just thought it was kinda neat. It gives you an idea of how large the lodge really is!

....no WONDER my feet were killing me at the end of every day....:faint:!

WOW I am so impressed with your talent. Those pages are outstanding. I am looking forward to scarpbooking my trip, especially the resort pictures. My daughter and I are already planning what pictures we want to take at AKL. Once again, good job.

Thanks for the response about food supplies at the marketplace, Kimmar and Scoutsmom. Sounds like we will need to do a grocery run.

Another question today! I have read on other threads that coffeemakers are not standard in every room and that you have to request one. Is that still true today? Have they put coffeemakers in every room at AKL? If no, is anyone ever denied one? I need coffee early and am too lazy to walk for it! :rotfl2:

its my understanding they are in every room

you know I called to see what time the fireside storytelling is - three different people and no one could tell me, the last person said to check on the board!
Has anyone returned recently that knows the exact time? We would like to try and squeeze it in on arrival night but with the sun setting later I am wondering if they are doing it later.

We haven't been to AKL since May of '04 and I am really really looking forward to gong back!

I wish I could give you a firm answer. Fireside storytelling is in the evening. The time is different with the seasons and when sundown is. We were there last year during October. The CM's even suggested looking at the board each morning as the times can change. I can safely say it will not be until right around sundown. I know a lot of help I am! Sorry!

We were there last week and it was at 7:30 p.m. HTH!

BTW ~ Wendy, I especially love your 1st page! :thumbsup2

(I don't know why the right side of the 'giraffe' got cut off :confused3 ....it says: "We begin our journey to deepest darkest Africa...")

Hey ~ Thanks!!!! I love your page too!!! I wish I had waited to make my pages till we got back - ( I made them before we went) I'd have really liked to get some of the literature for the pages, like yours!!! It's really nice-- do you have more to share???

Wow! I think that write up deserves to be copied and put right at the TOP of this thread. :thumbsup2

#1Hockeymom - Yes, yes - C'mon July already. Well, I say June because I'm visiting earlier than that. :rotfl2: You need get out that camera and blow the dust off of it. Then you should practice around the house. I must admit - DH takes much better pics than I do so I've been leaving it up to him lately. :teeth:

Speaking of Giraffes. This is what I call Giraffe - I walk the line (see the his bath):

I have Victoria Falls Mist drinks for everyone, along with a scrap book of everyone's lovely pictures. I, too, had the week from H, E, double hockey sticks and this thread has saved me in more ways than one! Thank you, Kimmar, for reminding me to check in, and thank you everyone for your lovely pictures of HOME!

That is a really cool picture! I like the angel and it does make the lodge look big...more so than the maps. Thanks for sharing it!
