We booked a standard view room. We had a room on the Kudu Trail. Great partial savanna view
Can't help you with the trail question, but I did want to point out that every morning the animals are called into the barn to get checked over. I used to have information about the timing but I didn't save it. I think it's done one trail at a time. Some people complain that they don't see animals outside their window in the mornings, and it turns out they were looking out at the same time every day, and it was the time that the animals on that trail were called in.Hi all - My daughter and I are staying in a savannah view resort room (2 queen beds) in AKL in a few weeks. I'm struggling over what to put in a room request. Our priority is good animal viewing from the room (esp. giraffes and zebras). I'm okay with a bit of walking (and in fact prefer a quieter area to one near lobby or elevators). I have read to request 2nd or 3rd floor for best animal viewing. We are more likely to have time in our room to watch the animals in the mornings than in the evenings Should I request Kudu trail over looking sunset savannah or Kudu trail overlooking arusha savannah (or something else?!)? TIA!

I wish I knew the exact times. I know that it starts approximately 8:00-8:30am, and each species has its own audio cue. If you listen closely, you can hear the audio cues (maybe it's a drum for the giraffes, a whistle for the zebras, etc.) I think there's about 10 minutes before each species gets called. I was lucky enough to hear and experience the whole thing one time. What amazed me was that they don't just lift their heads and run. They just sort of amble in the general direction of the barns. Except some of the old-timers-they're already waiting near the barns for food. Can't help you with the trail question, but I did want to point out that every morning the animals are called into the barn to get checked over. That would be so cool to see! Where are the barns - toward the back of the savannahs (away from the resort)?I wish I knew the exact times. We just returned from an Animal Kingdom Lodge visit. We were in room 3355, which was a savannah view, on the Kudu trail. We saw a lot of zebras and giraffes. We didn't do the parks on this trip. Just wanted to experience the lodge, so we weren't up at the crack of dawn like we usually are. But once we were up (around 7:00) we saw animals throughout the day. Not as many in the late morning or early afternoon.Hi all - My daughter and I are staying in a savannah view resort room (2 queen beds) in AKL in a few weeks. We've had similar experiences. They tend to put out a decent amount of food on the savannah for the animals to search for and snack throughout the mornings. It's very seldom that we don't see animals during the day, depending on the weather. We just returned from an Animal Kingdom Lodge visit. Animal Kingdom Lodge has 2 main sections - Jambo House and Kidani. AKL Jambo is the original and holds mostly cash rooms along with a floor or 2 of DVC villas. AKL Kidani is all DVC villas, although I expect they fill those at times with cash guests, too. It's likely if you book a non-villa cash room, your room is in Jambo. If I book cash resort view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (rather than Jambo Villa), can I request it to be at Jambo? Plus any possible other room request I can make? Thanks in advance!
Thank you! I am familiar with the DVC villas, and I know one can book the specific villa on the official website though the price could be different. My question is, if I book a Resort View 2 Queen room of the general AKL, can I make a request to make sure it's in Jambo not Kidani? (I personally love the Savanna view rooms at Kidani.) Plus, is there a room request I can make (that is similar to DVC's) to specify where I prefer (and I understand there is no gurantee)?Animal Kingdom Lodge has 2 main sections - Jambo House and Kidani. When you book a cash reservation (not a vacation club booking) the reservation site will specify whether the room is at Jambo or Kidani.Animal Kingdom Lodge has 2 main sections - Jambo House and Kidani.
