Jaclyn & Chris’ Engagement Trip Report ~ Updated 01/03

Congratulations on your engagement!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to reading more about your trip report

Aww you guys are so cute together, congratulations on your engagement. Chris picked the perfect location to propose, the Poly is so romantic and beautiful :lovestruc

Love the "your pissing me off" comment, sounds like me when DF annoys me :rotfl:

How sweet that your parents paid for your dinner too :)

Can't wait to read more :)

Thank you.

I couldn’t imagine a more perfect for place Chris to propose. It was very “us.”

I’m glad to hear that other couples are just like us. :lmao:

Your parents are awesome!

Your dinner looked amazing and I love that the staff were so attentive to you on your special day. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I feel very lucky to have such great parents. :goodvibes

What a pleasant surprise from your father! :)

It was a great surprise! It made the day even more memorable. :cloud9:

Love the photo in front of the castle--just darling.

Thanks! It’s one of my favorites.:goodvibes

Congratulations on your engagement!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to reading more about your trip report

Thank you.:)

The photo of you two in front of the castle is sooo nice! What a great way to end such a great day!

Congratulations!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. Great pics!

While we were waiting for our entrees Chris made this for me.

Aw, so sweet! :lovestruc

We both ordered the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef.
Picture051.jpg

Drool...that looks so good!

The waiter than said that my father had called and was paying for our engagement dinner.

Wow, what an awesome surprise!

We also got some photopass pictures taken in front of the castle.

That's a great picture!

This morning we planned on sleeping in because yesterday was such a busy day. We woke up around 9am. Chris went and grabbed breakfast at the Pepper Market for us. I just had a plain bagel with cream cheese and Chris had a cinnamon bun. We found most mornings when we stayed at the Pepper Market we just ate a light breakfast in our room. The meals at the Pepper Market are a little pricy when you’re not on the dining plan.

While we were getting ready I called my parents to thank them for the last night’s dinner. Chris also called his best friend to let him know about the engagement. However, Chris’ best friend, whose is a firefighter, was working. We let his wife know about the engagement and I spoke to her a bit about wedding stuff. She is really such a sweet person. I really hope is she will be able to come to the wedding. It might be a little difficult as she’s a teacher. :teacher:

After making our phone calls we decided it was time to head to Epcot. We had a lunch reservation at Le Cellier we had to get too. Of course, I wanted to get there early so I could grab a margarita first. We had our own bus to Epcot which was great. We found the buses at CSR excellent during our entire stay. We arrived at Epcot around 11:45pm.

The first stop we made was out Mousegears. I love browsing the different shops at Disney World. I know most of the merchandise is similar. It just feels nice to be surrounded by all things Disney. :goodvibes

After browsing around Mousegears we headed to World Showcase.

We wandered through the Mexico Pavilion and I grabbed a margarita.

We ended up just sitting on bench soaking in the atmosphere and sipping on my strawberry margarita while we waited for our ADR. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy being in Disney World.

We checked in at Le Cellier and were seated within 5 minutes.

I ordered a bowl of cheddar cheese soup and a coke. I also asked if we could just have pretzel bread and our waitress was happy to fill our request.

Bowl of Cheddar Cheese Soup

I really enjoyed my cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread. This was the first time I just ordered the soup and the pretzel bread and it was the perfect amount of food for lunch on a hot September day in Florida.

Chris ordered the Grilled Steak Burger with Cheddar Cheese and a sprite.

After lunch we browsed the Canada Pavilion. Chris really wanted to get me the “I Wine A lot” Shirt. :confused3 We then made our way out of Epcot but not before browsing the Art of Disney store. I love this store. They have so many great pieces of art here. Then we caught a bus back to CSR.

Up Next: Evening at Epcot & Dinner at Flying Fish Cafe

Great update :thumbsup2

You know, the more I keep reading about Le Cellier the more I think we should give it a chance. Your soup looked delish :)

Love the Mexico pics, looks so pretty :)

This pic is so cute with the little house in the background :cutie:

Another great update! Le Cellier looks so good. I always make an ADR to eat there but we never end up going. Next time for sure!

Thanks for reading!:goodvibes

Le Cellier is great for an in-park restaurant. :thumbsup2 It’s not as amazing as it used to be, but it still a good restaurant and one of my “must do’s” every trip.

Thanks!:)

A Canadian passing up the opportunity to go to Le Cellier!:scared1: ... Just Kidding. LOL

We got back to Corondo Springs around 2pm and had a short nap. After we woke up I walked over Rix Café and grabbed a coke and then came back and called my best friends to let them know about the engagement.

Chris and I then go ready for dinner. We were planning on having dinner at Flying Fish tonight and since we were relying on Disney Transportation we thought the best way to get to the Boardwalk was to take a bus to Epcot and then walk through the international gateway.

We got to Epcot and took some photopass pictures in front of Spaceship Earth. I had pre-purchased the photopass cd and wanted to get as much use out of it as possible.

Image0161.jpg

After taking some photopass pictures we thought it would be a good idea to ride Spaceship Earth as we hadn’t ridden anything all day.:rolleyes1 As I mentioned in the previous post today was planned as one of our “take it easy” days.

We then walked towards the international gateway. I really enjoyed the walk to the boardwalk. It’s so beautiful and calming. It’s a nice break from the Epcot crowds.

Picture028-1.jpg

We checked in at Flying Fish for our 7:15pm ADR. We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated.

I ordered Flying Fish Café’s Signature Potato Wrapped Snapper
Picture031-1.jpg

I was really impressed with the Red Snapper. It didn’t have a strong fishy taste that some fish have. The potato wrap added a really nice crispy texture to the snapper. I found the red wine sauce a little rich, but other than that it was a great meal.

Chris ordered the Shrimp and Orecchiette Pasta.
Picture030.jpg

Chris loved this! :thumbsup2

I was so surprised with how many shrimp were in this dish. I don’t eat shrimp so I had to pick through a lot of shrimp to get to the pasta. :lmao:

We received a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our recent engagement.
Picture032-2.jpg

After dinner we walked back to Epcot. Illuminations was starting but we decided to beat the crowds and just head out of the park.

Image0201.jpg

We got back to the resort around 9:30pm and just watched TV and got ready for bed.

Coming Up Next: Animal Kingdom, DTD & EPCOT

Ooh that Shrimp dish looks yummy and the pic in front of the Epcot ball is v cute :)

Sounds like you had a very relaxing day. Both lunch and dinner sounded and looked great! I love the pics in front of the Epcot ball!

Thanks! It was a very relaxing day. It wasn't until I actually typed up this installement that I realized how little we actually did.

This morning Chris and I woke up at 7am. Chris went to the Pepper Market to grab breakfast while I got ready. I had a plain bagel with cream cheese and Chris had an English muffin and toast.

I took some pictures of Corondo Springs on the way to the bus stop.

The opening ceremony!

This show is so difficult to see even when you’re up close.

We headed walked through Dinoland to head to Expedition Everest. We grabbed fast passes and got in the stand by line which had a wait time posted of 15 minutes. It was closer to a 10 minute wait.

After Everest we walked towards Africa to ride the Kilimanjaro Safari.

We browsed some of the gift shops at the front of the park. I really wanted to purchase the Finding Nemo: The Musical CD. I justI love the music from Finding Nemo, especially “Just Keep Swimming.” It’s so catchy. I finally found it and then decided to just wait until I went to the World of Disney store later on this trip so that I could use my AP discount.

We sat down on a bench outside one of the stops and pondered what we wanted to do for lunch. I didn’t really feel like anything from AK so we decided to just go to Downtown Disney and grab something at Wolf Gang Puck Express.

Continued in Next Post

We exited the park and took a bus to AKL. We had the bus to ourselves and the bus driver was super friendly and chatted the whole way there. We found out he was actually a Bus Driver Trainer and was just picking up an extra shift bus driving shift. He was trying to convince us to move down to Florida. He didn’t need to do much convincing. It’s my dream to move down to Florida one day.

Once we got to the AKL we hoped on to a bus to Downtown Disney. We were pretty lucky as there was a DTD waiting for us. It took us an hour and a half to get to DTD from AK. Disney transportation can be such a pain sometimes, especially when trying to get to DTD from a park.

If I don’t eat every so often I get very dizzy and sick to my stomach. By the time we got to DTD I was about to pass out. I felt so weak and just looked at Chris and said “FOOD!”:lmao:

Once we arrived at WPE we decided to just share a meatball & parmesan pizza and a side order of macaroni and cheese.
Picture064.jpg

Picture063.jpg

After lunch we browsed Once Upon A Toy, TrenD, Arrabas Brothers and World of Disney. I purchased the Finding Nemo: The Musical CD at WOD. You can bet I annoyed Chris the rest of the trip by the playing the CD on my laptop in the room.

Once we were done our tour of DTD we headed to the Marketplace Bus stop. We saw the CSR bus leave just as we walked up. I hate when that happens. It only took approximately 15 minutes for our bus to arrive.

We got back to resort around 1:30pm and watched some TV. Sabrina the Teenage Witch was on. I use to love this show when I was younger. I got so excited because it was the episode when Sabrina goes to Walt Disney World, stays at Corondo Springs and visits the Animal Kingdom.

I had to laugh at the irony. To remember this moment I took some pictures.

Picture067-1.jpg

Picture071.jpg

After watching some TV we took our usually afternoon naps. I love naps especially on vacation. I don’t know why they did away with nap time after nursery school.

We got ready to leave and we were at Epcot by 6:00pm. Once we got there we had to make a pit stop at Guest Services because Chris forgot his Just Engaged Button. The CM was very friendly and gave us a whole bunch of different pins for when we come back for our wedding.

I was getting a little hungry by this point since we didn’t eat much for lunch so we headed over to Germany for a snack. Chris and I shared a pretzel a got a glass of “Diva” Wine. I am just started to drink wine and Germany wine has become my favorite. I find their wine a little sweeter than other countries.

After our snack we walked over to the Japan Pavilion and checked in for our ADR at Tokyo Dining.

Chris and I are both sushi lovers so whenever we go to Tokyo Dining we both just order off the sushi menu.

I ordered the Grilled Salmon Roll & Spicy Tuna Roll
Picture074.jpg

Chris ordered the California Roll and the Salmon Roll.

Picture073.jpg

Picture072.jpg

During our meal the Sushi Chef’s did a demonstration. This was very interested to watch, however, we were seated right beside the partition to the lobby and many guests were peering through the empty slots in the wood panels to watch this demonstration. We found this a little rude as a few people (adults mind you) had their heads stuck through partition and their heads were literally hovering over our table. :confused3

After our excellent meal at Tokyo Dining I was in the mood for some ice cream so we decided to walk over to Beaches & Cream. We wanted to get there before Illuminations let out because we knew it would probably get pretty busy.

I love the walk to the beach club from the international gateway. The view of the boardwalk is so spectacular at night.

We got to Beaches and Cream around 8:30pm and the place was pretty empty. We didn’t have wait at all and we were seated at a booth. For those of you who have been to Beaches and Cream you know how rare this is, especially for a party of 2.

I ordered a Two Scoop Hot Fudge Sundae.
Picture078.jpg

I’m really picky about my ice cream habit and prefer not to have whipped cream on my ice cream. I find it dilutes the taste of the ice cream. Chris makes fun of me endlessly for this, but I love him anyways.

Chris ordered the Strawberry Shortcake.
Picture077.jpg

After our delicious dessert we thought it would be a good idea to take a taxi back to our resort instead of trying to fight through post-illuminations crowds and then wait for a bus. But first I wanted to walk over to the Boardwalk and browse through some of the shops. I also wanted to show Chris Sea Breeze Point, as it was one of the places we were considering for our wedding.

Once we were done we just caught a taxi at the Boardwalk Resort and we were back at CSR in no time. It only cost us around $8. It was well worth it in my opinion.

We had saved so much time by taking the taxi that we decided to walk over to the main pool. After spending some time in the pool and the hot tub we headed back to our room and got ready for bed.

Coming Up Next: Blizzard Beach & Magic Kingdom

Sorry I got so behind! It was finals week for me and I graduated so I had to make sure everything worked our properly. Anyways, I got tears in my eyes when you were surprised with your dinner being paid for...how sweet! Flying Fish looks good. I have never been but have an ADR for my trip in a couple weeks so thanks for getting me excited! It's funny that you say the lions make you miss your kitties at home, because they make me miss my dog LOL! I know lions are big cats but for some reason they just remind me of my dog haha! Can't wait for more!

Love all the AK shots, you are very lucky to have gotten to see the lions, they are usually so inactive and hidden away. :goodvibes

How funny that you saw the WDW Sabrina episode on the same day that you went to AK while staying at CSR.

I love the pics you got of the animal carvings in the Tree of Life! Your sushi and ice cream looked really yummy!
