We turned left and headed to Adventureland!
Our first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean. We were able to walk right on. I love travelling in value season!
After Pirates we headed to Frontierland to ride my favorite ride in all WDW, Splash Mountain!
When we got off Splash Mountain I noticed that they were selling Reef Flip Flops in the Splash Mountain gift shop. I had read such great things about these flip flops in NikkiLovesWDW! honeymoon trip report. I really wanted to buy a pair, unfortunately, they didn’t have my size.
I was starting to get a little hungry so Chris and I decided to go back to Adventureland so I could get my first Dole Whip Float of the trip.
After finishing my Dole Whip Float I was still sad that the Splash Mountain gift shop didn’t have any flip flops in my size. Chris suggested that we check out the Emporium to see if they sold any Reef Flip Flops. Nope…no luck finding them at the Emporium. Chris thought they might have them at Blizzard Beach. An idea popped into my head. What about the gift shop in Adventureland? So we decided to check it out.
We headed to the Adventureland Island Supply gift shop. Lo and behold they had the flip flops I wanted in my size. I tried them on and bought my first pair of Reef Flip Flops.
After making my purchase we decided to head over to Liberty Square so we could ride the Haunted Mansion.
After we were done riding the Haunted Mansion we sat down at a bench and I put on my new flips flops. But guess what? After all that time searching for these flip flops in my size, the flip flops I bought didn’t fit. I couldn’t figure it out. I had tried on these flip flops, they fit then, and then now they didn’t. I was so annoyed with myself. I guess I put the wrong pair back on the shelf when I was trying them on.
So Chris and I trekked back to Adventureland and we exchanged the flips flops for the right pair. I wanted to put them on right away because the new running shoes I had bought before the trip were beginning to hurt. We sat down at the seating area between the gift shop and Aloha Isle and I put on my new shoes.
The Illusive Flip Flops.
These flip flops were definitely worth hunting down. They really kept my feet comfortable during the entire trip.
After I put on my new flip flops we got up to head to our lunch ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. Chris kept teasing me about how I had gotten the wrong flip flops. I was getting really annoyed at this point and turned to him and said “You’re really starting to piss me off!” The second I said this, a woman who was sitting at a table in the Adventureland area said to us “Congratulations.” I turned and smiled and said in the sweetest voice possible “Thank You.”
We thought this was so funny. We had just gotten engaged a few hours ago and already we were bickering like an old married couple. It was just so typically us.
We walked over to Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.
We were seated at a table for two in the Jean Paul Room. Every time we eat at Liberty Tree Tavern we’re seated at the same table by the window facing the Liberty Bell. We now refer to it as our table.
I had the Colony Salad and a coke.
Chris ordered the Angus Chuck Burger and a sprite.
For dessert we were given a complimentary chocolate cake to celebrate our engagement.
After lunch we browsed some of the gifts shops on Main Street and then headed back to Corondo Springs Resort for a relaxing afternoon.
