Jaclyn & Chris’ Engagement Trip Report ~ Updated 01/03

Great update - love the Beaches & Cream pics, we have that as a must do on our upcoming trip!

Great update. Love the photopass pictures and I'm with you...NO WHIP CREAM on my hot fudge sundaes either, thank you very much. ;)

Sorry I got so behind! It was finals week for me and I graduated so I had to make sure everything worked our properly. Anyways, I got tears in my eyes when you were surprised with your dinner being paid for...how sweet! Flying Fish looks good. I have never been but have an ADR for my trip in a couple weeks so thanks for getting me excited! It's funny that you say the lions make you miss your kitties at home, because they make me miss my dog LOL! I know lions are big cats but for some reason they just remind me of my dog haha! Can't wait for more!

Congratulations on graduating!

My parents are very sweet! I’m still so appreciative of them for paying for our engagement dinner.

Flying Fish is excellent. This was the first time I’ve ever eaten there and I was very impressed.

I can see missing your dogs when seeing the lions. It’s hard not to miss your pets when you’re on vacation.

Love all the AK shots, you are very lucky to have gotten to see the lions, they are usually so inactive and hidden away. :goodvibes

How funny that you saw the WDW Sabrina episode on the same day that you went to AK while staying at CSR.

This was the first time that I’ve seen the lions this active. I think it had something to do with it being earlier in the day.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw the episode. I got so excited. Of course, Chris thought I was crazy.

I love the pics you got of the animal carvings in the Tree of Life! Your sushi and ice cream looked really yummy!

Thank you. :goodvibes

This was the first time Chris and I just took our time wandering around AK, taking in all the details. It’s so easy to get caught up in running from one ride to another.

Great update - love the Beaches & Cream pics, we have that as a must do on our upcoming trip!

Beaches & Cream is one of my favourites. We actually went there multiple times during our trip. I’m an self-admitted ice cream addict.

Great update. Love the photopass pictures and I'm with you...NO WHIP CREAM on my hot fudge sundaes either, thank you very much. ;)

I told Chris that you didn’t like whip cream on your ice cream either and said “see I’m normal.” Chris replied “Jaclyn, you’ll never be normal.” :lmao:

Great AK pics :)

Cool Tokyo Dining review, the California Rolls look yummy and I so want that Strawberry Shortcake from B&C, looks sooooo good!

This morning we woke up at 8:30am. We were able to sleep in a bit later than usual because we were heading to Blizzard Beach this morning.

We decided to eat a larger breakfast this morning because we knew we’d need lots of energy to climb all those stairs for the water slides at Blizzard. This was the only morning that we went down and ate at the Pepper Market.

Chris and I both ordered a Southwestern Omelet. This is the first time we stayed at CSR and weren’t on the dining plan and we found breakfast really expensive. It was $26.16 for two omelets, water, and a coffee.

I apologize in advance. There will not be a lot of photos in this post as we didn’t bring our camera to Blizzard Beach.

We arrived at Blizzard Beach just after 10am. It was very disorienting to not know where we were going. Both Chris and I frequent Disney World quite regularly and so we’re very comfortable navigating the parks. But neither of us had been to Blizzard Beach since we were kids so we felt a bit lost.

We made a stop at the Beach Haus to rent a large locker. While I was there I saw a pair of black and white reef flip flops that I wanted. I decided to hold off on purchasing them until after we were done for the day.

The first stop we made was to the wave pool. Chris and I grabbed some tubes and hit the waves. I had so much fun. I enjoyed it so much better than the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon.

Because I’m not the strongest swimmer the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon makes me very nervous. The wave pool at Blizzard Beach is tame compared to Typhoon Lagoon and I also feel safer in the tubes. So I had a blast and by the end of our time in the wave pool I was enjoying the biggest waves.

:offtopic:I only recently learned how to swim in the past few years. My parents took me to swimming lessons as I kid but I was allergic to the chlorine and then later on my dad tried to teach me but I had some trust issues. About 3 years ago my parents purchased an above ground pool. Because I trusted Chris he was able to teach me how to swim within a day. I was very proud of myself.

While we were in the wave pool they were filming a promotional video. I didn’t even realize it until my tube bumped into a lifeguard and she pushed my tube gently to the other side of the pool and told me they had to keep this section blocked off during filming. I thought this was so neat! We actually saw the film crew and the actors at various rides throughout the day.

After the wave pool we rode the Downhill Double Dipper, Team Boat Springs, Run Off Rapids and then we relaxed in the Cross Country Creek.

By this point we were starting to get hungry so we stopped at Lottawatta Lodge and shared some chicken fingers and fries.

After lunch we felt we had accomplished all we wanted to do at Blizzard Beach today so we got changed and I went back to the Beach Haus and picked up that pair of reef flip flops. Then we caught a bus back to CSR.

We got back to resort around 1:30pm. It was at this point Chris was started to get a sore throat. We went and grabbed some hot water and salt from Café Rix and I grabbed a Strawberry Shortcake.

We watched some TV and had are usual afternoon nap.

Around 5:00pm we left to go the Magic Kingdom and we arrived by 5:30pm

Chris ordered the Shrimp Scampi and a sprite.

We both really enjoyed our meals. We were done dinner in 45 minutes and we ready to hit some rides before wishes.

First we had to get a photo in front of the castle.

We then headed towards Adventureland and rode Jungle Cruise. It was only a 5 minute wait.

After our ride on the jungle cruise I had to make a stop at Aloha Isle for a Pineapple Dole Whip Float. :hyper:

Picture033-3.jpg

Next we headed over to Frontierland to ride Splash Mountain.

Picture034-2.jpg

The Magic Kingdom was pretty quite tonight. I think it had something to do with the park closing at 8pm.

Picture035-3.jpg

Picture036-2.jpg

Splash Mountain was a walk on :woohoo:

Picture037-1.jpg

After Splash Mountain we went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which only had a 5 minute wait. Have I told you already how much I love WDW in September?:cheer2:

Once we were done riding some rides we decided to head over the hub for Wishes.

WISHES!!! pixiedust:

I  Wishes. While watching Wishes on my first trip to Disney World with Chris back in May 2005 we watched Wishes on our first night there. I started to get goosebumps and I began to cry. It was right then and there that I got it! I got the Disney magic and I haven’t lost it since. My love of all things Disney has only grown. That is why Wishes will always have a special place in my heart.

Coming up Next: Disney's Hollywood Studios

Great update. Sorry Chris was starting to get a sore throat. And tell Chris HE is the one that is NOT Normal. Us girls have to stick together. ;)

I love Blizzard Beach! Even though I'm not much of a pool lover, I really enjoy the slides and lazy river there. I hope Chris' throat was feeling better.

Uh oh, sore throats and vacation do not belong together. Hopefully he feels better!

I feel the same way about Wishes, there is just something about it that makes you so emotional.

Don't worry I tell him that all the time. :lmao:

I loved Blizzard Beach too! I was very happy that we gave it a try this trip. We usually only go to Typhoon Lagoon.

Thank you. Chris' sore only lasted about a week. He then pasted it on to me. :sad1: There was definately something going around while we were down there. There were lots of people coughing and sneezing on the buses.

No they don't belong together. There should be some sort of law where you can't get sick on vacation. It's just not right.

I :love:Wishes. I really hope they never change it. I'll be so sad.

You got some great pictures of Jungle Cruise! I am so happy to see that you ate at Tony's...I'm going there for the first time two weeks from today and now I am even more excited. I STILL cry at Wishes!

Now I want a Pineapple Dole Whip Float. I guess I'll have to settle for a rum laced eggnog.

Thanks!:)

Tony's was great! I really enjoyed the spaggetti and meatballs.:thumbsup2

Eggnog with rums sounds very yummy!::yes::

This morning we woke up at 7:45am and got ready to go to DHS.

Waiting for the bus…
Picture001.jpg

We got to DHS around 8:30am and we able to see the rope drop show. I’m not sure why but I’ve seen DHS rope drop more than any other park rope drop, even when I’m not planning on it.

As soon as the show was over we made a mad dash to Toy Story Mania. We waited in line to grab fast passes. I love that they have a queue now for the fast passes. It was such a great idea on Disney’s part, much better than the massive ciaos that it was before. After grabbing our fast passes we stood in the stand by line which was 30 minutes by this point.

Picture002.jpg

I love Toy Story Mania. I could ride this all day and be happy. It’s so much better than Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. I hate to say it but I really don’t like Buzz. I can never see that darn laser. I don’t even bother trying anymore. I just sit and take pictures while Chris plays. :sad2:

After our ride on Toy Story Mania we walked over to Starring Rolls Café for some breakfast. I was starving by this point.

Picture006.jpg

Picture035-1.jpg

I had a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake $3.99 and a bottle of water. Chris had a Cinnamon Bun and an orange juice.

Picture008-1.jpg

I was initially planning on just getting a plain bagel with cream cheese but when I saw the chocolate peanut butter cupcake I knew I had to try it. I'd seen in other DISers reports and it looked too good to pass up. There’s nothing better than chocolate mixed with peanut butter. Mmmm. It was really good but just too sweet for 9:30 in the morning. In retrospect I wish I had just grabbed the bagel but I’m glad I tried the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. I think it would have been much better as an afternoon snack. Chris enjoyed his Cinnamon Bun. It seemed like the same ones you can get anywhere on property.

After our quick stop for breakfast we headed down Sunset Blvd.

Image0362.jpg

Our first stop was Rockin’ Rollercoster which was only a 10 minute wait.

Picture013.jpg

Picture014.jpg

Chris likes to make crazy faces for ride photos.

Picture015.jpg

Stay back girls—he’s all mine! :lmao:

We took some photo pass pictures in front of the guitar.

Image0384.jpg

Image0392.jpg

After we took this picture Chris looked at me and said “I’m pretty sure we just did the hang ten sign instead of the rock on sign.” :rotfl:

We then headed to Tower of Terror. I couldn’t believe it had a 30 minutes wait. Don’t people know it’s September? :confused3

Picture011.jpg

Picture016.jpg

Picture017.jpg

I really enjoy this ride but I tend to always hold on to the holy s**t bars for dear life.:scared1:

Next on our agenda was using our fast passes for Toy Story Mania.

Up Next: STAR WARS MANIA

I don’t even bother trying anymore. I just sit and take pictures while Chris plays. :sad2:

Actually, since this will be my first time riding TSM, I was going to do that! I really don't care what my score is, I just want to pictures! :rotfl:
