The first step of my secret mission for DH's 40th Birthday is underway.

Flights are booked with Virgin Atlantic (miles plus money), flying out on 11th Feb and back on 18th Feb. Will have to add a new countdown now

Just need to book the cruise (once I've decided whether we can stretch to DCL or not) and accommodation and decide on hire car or transfers.

Part of me is excited and part of me is thinking 'Oh my God, what have I done?' (given that DH is, at this moment, at a conference in Wiltshire to find out the finer details of his redundancy ) Oh well, at least it's something to look forward to

It is a surprise Carol. The only reason I'm a bit nervous about it is because I'm going to have to pay for it all myself and I have (temporarily) borrowed the money out of our savings account to pay for the flights as they were selling like hot cakes and I didn't want to miss the opportunity.
