I've never started a political thread before, but WOW

Obama will be out explaining what he really meant.....again!

And when he backpeddles all over it, we'll be chastised for referring or making any further reference to it. Do over!

Of course this is just your opinion.

With no disrespect meant, Hawking relies on people to do things he can't. It's not because he's lazy.

There are plenty of successful people in the world today that don't feel the need to be wired to it. They seem to get along just fine.

So lets summarize...

Palin is a terrible mother and woman because she's got the balls to hold a high ranking job AND take care of a family as well.

McCain is an old geezer out of touch because he doesn't personally use a computer or send emails.

In some other bizarro world, you guys would be defending these people.

When did I say Palin was a terrible mother? I think she's as phony as a the proverbial "$3 bill", but I don't think she's a terrible mother and I don't believe I ever said so. If you've got information to the contrary .......... link please

Btw, lots of women hold high-ranking jobs and take care of families. It's done everyday. Why is this being held up as such a pedastal standard by the Republicans? There were women governors long before Palin and there will be afterwards also. OTOH, it is nice to see the Republicans acknowledge it. :lmao:

However, not knowing how to use a computer for a man in John McCain's position does make him an out-of-touch lazy geezer. You may be happy to settle for just the basics when it comes to POTUS. I'd like a president to have a little intellectual curiousity about a machine that has revolutionized:

*the way we do business,

*the way we pay our bills,

*the way we shop,

*the way we invest,

*the way we do our banking,

*the way we get our information

*and the way we keep in constant touch with friends and loved ones.

YMMV.

Did you read the links I provided yet?

I didn't say anyone said anything about him. I'm saying that he too is offended by that ad as he should be!

Yes, I did read your links, but they had no relevance to what we're attempting to discuss here, again, this is not about "emailing."

He got offended by it all on his own. Imagine that. Don't underestimate the intelligence of "the average viewer". Besides - I would hardly call him "the average viewer" - he's a wounded soldier who will not be able to perform what everyone else takes for granted. Your comment is insulting.

Being a wounded soldier does not make him any more or less able to find out about his candidate than anyone else.

You know - as someone who has dressed a young wounded veteran for his own wedding because the simple task of buttoning was to difficult - and this same person will tell people - to not bother emailing him because it bothers his injuries to much. I find this extremely insulting. Does this mean that the young man I work with is lazy or ignorant as well? I THINK NOT.

FTR - I have spoken to this soldier about this latest attack ad (he is literally part of my family now)- and he is extremely offended by it as well.

You know, direct your outrage to someone who actually cares.

Btw, you're helping wounded veterans is commendable.

You're using them to make a political point is not.

The internet is a double edged sword. More important than the positive uses, I think the president needs to be aware of the avenues the internet provides for terrorists, hate groups, hate speech, porn peddlers, pedophiles, international slavery, etc., etc., etc. Yes, he probably has people to "brief" him on these topics. However, the potential for good and bad is hard to understand if you aren't actually using the technology.

. I'm saying that he too is offended by that ad as he should be!

But that is just the point. He shouldn't be offended, nor should anyone else. The ad was about John McCain being an old fashioned fuddy duddy who is out of touch with the younger demographic. Not about John McCain having a disability. Only myopic and small minded voters would be offended. Those who are offended are obviously not capable of putting it into context. They are only capable of seizing on sound bites.

Would it have been different if it had been a factory worker who got hurt on the job and because of the pain of his injuries couldn't type on a keyboard?

Or would it have been different if the soldier told you firsthand?

Thank you for 'splainin' it to them.

And thank you. :thumbsup2

Again, you can put lipstick on this pig all you want, but it is still a pig.

McCain doesn't know how to use a machine that has revolutionized our world. And there are some who consider that ignorance a virtue. End of story.

No, it doesn't even matter if one was a former POW.

Stop playin' on the sympathy votes, most of us are concerned about the actual issues.

Take notice how they play the "veteran card" to explain away everthing.

Begs the question: At what point does it become exploitation?

Yeah, I know, I'm also spozed to vote for Palin coz the media picks on her when they ask her relevant questions. :sad2:

It's not that she's picked on, it's that she's treated entirely different that Obama.

Gibson's first interview with Obama was a "fluff" piece full of softballs that a little leaguer could easily hit out of the park.

His first interview with Palin has a hit job but I'm happy to see she did well.

She's not cry babying like the Clinton's did/do.

Has "open season" on the Clinton's been declared already? Does this mean Hillary is no longer the Republican's favorite Democrat? :lmao:
