These young folks need better people looking out for them. Nobody is changing their mind about anything based on what some celebrity that has lived in a bubble for the 15 minutes they've been an adult thinks. The only thing that usually happens is they alienate people. It certainly doesn't help their careers. And these politicians on any side certainly wouldn't risk their careers if the situations were reversed.
Michael Jordan is a perfect example of the leadership that some of these young folks need. When asked why he didn't get involved more in politics, he said "Republicans buy sneakers too". He said it was partially in jest, but he also elaborated "I wasn't a politician when I was playing my sport. I was focused on my craft. Was that selfish? Probably. But that was my energy. That's where my energy was." A lot of young, talented people with future star potential would be much better served following his lead today.
